W H E N THE YEARS Mr. Anwar Badri, the owner of B&A, established B&A in 1994. He is the Managing Director who made all this possible. In 2001 Gerald Williams established the Landscape Architecture division. There have been several important milestones in B&A’s existence. B&A was established in 1994 and the landscape architecture division in 2001. For twenty years B&A landscape architecture division has designed with passion and purpose.

B&A has created some of the most successful landscapes in the sixteen countries. B&A has been involved in over three hundred projects.

AL ANDALUS PARADISE GARDENS AT JGE DUBAI | UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Al Andalus Paradise Gardens is a large mixed use development in Jumeirah Golf Estates. It consists of six high rise apartment buildings, townhouses, community, shopping mall and JGE Headquarters building. The architectural design for each element is based on Andalusia design elements. The landscape design is a series of Andalusian courtyards in traditional fashion. The different developments are connected by a series of footpaths.

MIXED USE RESIDENTIAL

Al Joury Hills is the first mixed use development at Jumeirah Golf Estates. It is also a contemporary development in contrast to the existing JGE Mediterranean communities.

The development has villas, townhouses, apartments and retail elements. The landscape has amenities for the community such as jogging tracks, exercise stations, community center, streetscapes and playgrounds.

The concept is from the Arabic translation of Al Joury, which is Arabic Rose. The landscape forms and colors are based on rose concept. |

DLRC is a new town located next to The Villa on the Dubai-Al Ain Road. It’s a development of mid rise buildings with mixed use. The design is a modern landscape concept. The main areas are: 1. Gateway Entrance 2. Streetscape 3. District Parks 4. Community Parks 5. Neighborhood 6. Local Plazas There is an extensive streetscape network that connects all the parks and the plazas together. This is the first large scale mixed use landscape in Dubai.

PRIVATE VILLA COMPLEX IN SHARJAH SHARJAH | UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

This is a residential complex for the father and four sons of the Sharjah Royal Family. It’s individual villas within a large desert area in Sharjah. The master planning and landscape design was done by B&A. The main concept is to create a large common space at the entrance with individual private spaces for the villas. The villas are connected by a pedestrian system along the streetscapes and through the desert. The landscape concept is to have intense landscaping at the front and back of the villas with the space between the villas enclosed desert. The landscape is an expression of desert elements within a modern context.

PRIVATE PALACE COMPLEX IN SHARJAH SHARJAH | UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

RESIDENCES

This is a residential complex for members of Sharjah Royal Family. It consists of the main palace with a smaller palace. The landscape is tradional Islamic which matches the architecture. The main space is a circular lawn area that connects the two palaces. This is surrounded by lush landscape with gazebos and an entrance plaza. There is also Islamic gardens at the palaces’ entrances and kid’s playgrounds with events lawn.

ARAB MARINE ACADEMY KHORFAKKAN KHORFAKKAN | UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Arab Marine Academy is an extension campus of the main academy in Alexandria, Egypt. B&A was commissioned to carry out the master planning and landscape architecture. The master plan concept is to create Islamic courtyards withing the building layout.

Also, the buildings are clustered with similar functions and connected by large footpaths.

There is a perimeter road with the parking located on the outside of the campus. This allows for a pedestrian campus. The academy has all the activities of a university campus.

For the landscape amenities, there is sports pitch, exercise stations, games areas and numerous social areas. The main feature is a campus park along the main entrance avenue. It’s a contemporary design with amphitheater, fountain features and seating areas.

Lacasa Doha commissioned B&A to design two university common areas for student recreation and relaxation. One is the Male Commons and the other is the Female Commons.

The landscape concepts are based on Qatar indigenous landscape elements. This gives form to the landscape. The Male Commons concept is wadi and Females Commons is date palm garden. The Wadi Common form is free-flowing and organic and the Palm Common is on a grid and structured. There is plaza dining, sitting and activity zones in both designs. The design provides a common space for students to gather and socialize. This enhances social interaction within a university setting and the landscape gives an oasis effect.
