The Book and Media Studies Student Association (BMSSA) has been a voice for the students in the Book and Media Studies program since 2010. We strive to fosteranengagingcommunityfor students, provide support and listen to concerns, and advocate for an equitable learning and collaborative environment for all currentandfuturestudents.
The program prepares students forvocationsinjournalism,editing, communications, publishing, and graduateprogramsininformation and library science. The program also introduces them to topics in the Book History and Print Culture Graduate program at the UniversityofToronto.

2nd year students accepted to the BMS Major can apply for the Arts and Science Internship Program (ASIP). ASIP also acceptsalimited number of 3rd year students. ASIP combines 12 to 20 months of paid work experience with specialized professional development training. BMS Majors who are not in the ASIP stream still have the opportunity to earn a course credit while doing an internship that compliments their studies.
