Welcome to the Feast of Tabernacles!

Year after year God’s faithful people appear before Him at one of the many beautiful locations where God has chosen to place His name (Deut. 14:23; Deut. 31:10-11). Now that we are here, how will we keep this Feast?

This time pictures the establishment of the Kingdom of God over all the earth. Jesus Christ, as King of kings, will rule supreme. All the nations of this earth will be under His divine, compassionate, and loving care. But Christ will not rule the earth alone. He is training a people now for a very special role during His thousand-year reign. This Feast of Tabernacles, and the Last Great Day that follows, are a vital part of His training program for each of us.

We can focus over the coming days on the principles and instructions God will impart to us through numerous inspiring and informative messages. We will have opportunities to learn vital leadership lessons. Our challenge is that of employing what we are learning, not only while we are here at the Feast and in the years to come, but so much more when the reality of what this Feast pictures finally comes to pass!

Our approach toward this time should be one of rejoicing (Lev. 23:40; Deut. 12:7, 12, 18). Indeed, God commands us to rejoice! We have an opportunity to let our let shine (Matt. 5:16). We can be those who set a sterling example of God’s way of life now as ambassadors of Christ’s coming Kingdom (2 Cor. 5:20).

The key to achieving these “festival goals” is to remember the words of Jesus Christ, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). By focusing the “way of give,” everyone will more easily rejoice each day of the Feast. You will be letting your light shine for all to see. The real way to make this our best Feast ever is by focusing on giving a good Feast to others!

To rise to these challenges, God directs our attention to a critical component. God desires for us to “learn to fear the LORD your God always” (Deut. 14:23). We can remain humble by maintaining a right and healthy fear and awe of the Great God. In the coming days this will enable each of us to learn the vital lessons needed to be future leaders in Tomorrow’s World, as well as to please God in the here and now.

Jesus Christ is building a team – He will not reign alone. You and I are “kings and priests” in training (Rev. 1:6; 5:10). It rests upon each of us to live up to the very high calling we have been given. Let’s rejoice in the fear of God, exercising the give way of life, and use this time to be refreshed and inspired. Let’s all have a profitable Feast of Tabernacles.

Sincerely,

KIDS CORNER

For those of you who have participated in the past, you know the drill. But for any who have never had the opportunity before, here is a brief description of how it works. From 4:30 – 5:15 will be the appetizers portion of the activity. You and your party will travel to either a guest room at the Kalahari or a “temporary dwelling” offsite where one of the brethren will be hosting. There you will share appetizers with 12 guests plus the hosts whose identity you will not know until you arrive. At 5:15 the hosts will politely inform you it is time to travel to your next destination. From 5:30 – 6:45 will be the dinner portion of the evening. You will now be at a different host’s “temporary dwelling” with another set of 12 guests. Finally, you will travel to a final destination for the dessert portion which will last from 7:00 – 8:00.

This activity is a wonderful way to spend the Sabbath afternoon; by breaking bread and fellowshipping with your brothers and sisters in Christ. It is also a great way to spend time and meet brethren who you may not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise. Most who participate come away from the evening uplifted and with new friends.

Salons B & G (On-Site)

Sunday, 10/16 This will be the second Kids Corner activity for our young members, ages 2-12. 9:15am - 10am
