“BLÜV IS MORE THAN AN E-MAG AND MORE THAN EVENTS. IT’S CONNECTION, CURIOSITY, AND COMMUNITY THAT WELCOMES YOU IN LIKE A FRIEND.”
I knew I had truly felt Orlando the day someone asked me for a coffee shop recommendation, and I rattled off ten without even thinking. Coming from Nicaragua, where I grew up drinking what I’ll confidently call the best coffee in the world, my standards are high. But Orlando’s coffee scene? It’s the real deal genuine, creative, and full of heart.
That moment showed me something: Orlando isn’t just where I live. It’s where I’m rooted. My grounding places here are simple: tucked into a café corner with a cup of something strong, or out by the water where I walk, paddleboard, and yes even swim with the gators Call me a mermaid, but I’ve never believed in shallow living Life feels better when you dive fully in whether it’s with people, with nature, or with your own passions
That mindset of living fully and showing up as your truest self is the heartbeat behind BLÜV. In Spanish, we say convivir: to live together. That’s what this is about. BLÜV is more than an e-mag and more than events. It’s connection, it’s curiosity, it’s a community that welcomes you in like a friend who always knows the best spot or the right person to meet.
So why this first issue? Because we want you to know who’s behind it all. From our founder to our social media director, to the interns and the behind-the-scenes team who make every detail happen we’re starting with introductions. Before we spotlight the neighborhoods, creators, and culture shaping Central Florida, we want you to meet the people shaping BLÜV.
This is our beginning A space to bring the city to life in a way that feels real, approachable, and ours My hope is that when you see or hear BLÜV, you feel welcome, inspired, and proud to call this city home.
Here’s to the start of something special.

We introduce the people behind...

FROM LIVING ROOMS TO LOCAL EVENTS, ORLANDO IS MORE THAN A CITY IT’S CONNECTION, COMFORT, AND COMMUNITY. BLÜV IS HERE TO MAKE THAT FEELING VISIBLE.
By Wendy Bloom
I never thought I’d live here. Orlando was always the place I visited — usually for family — before heading back to whatever city I was calling home at the time: Miami, Clearwater, Mexico, even a season of RV life. And then one day, it clicked. Not with some big milestone, but in the middle of everyday life — sitting in a living room full of people I love, kids running through the house, conversations spilling over each other. It felt easy. Comfortable. Like the city had been quietly saving me a seat this whole time. That’s when I knew this wasn’t just where I was staying. It was home.”
That sense of belonging defines her relationship with Orlando. It’s not tied to landmarks or neighborhoods, but to the people who ground her. “Family. Always. Whether it’s around a table with mismatched coffee mugs, on the porch having wine after dinner, or on the bleachers at my nephew's baseball game, that’s where I feel most like myself. I’ve lived in a lot of different places, but that kind of grounding stays the same. It’s never about the physical spot for me — it’s about that deep exhale you take when you’re with your people. My family is Orlando to me.”

It’s also the foundation for how she defines community today — something more authentic and less performative. “Community feels like a connection you can trust. People who genuinely root for each other, who connect beyond the surface, and who actually show up in real life because they want to, not because they have to. It’s knowing there’s space for you to be exactly who you are, without having to dress it up. That’s what we’re creating with Blüv — events that are intentional without being intimidating, and a magazine that puts the spotlight on the creators, leaders, and doers shaping Orlando right now. It’s current, it’s real, and it’s meant to be lived offline as much as online.”
Her vision for Blüv is rooted in that same feeling: accessible, inspiring, and inclusive. “I want people to feel welcome, curious, inspired — like they’ve just walked into something they want to be part of.
We’re not the ‘high-fashion’ magazine that makes you feel like you don’t belong, but we’ll still bring you style that’s fresh and approachable.
We’re not a perfectly polished corporate publication, but we’ll still provide you with ideas and insights you can actually use.
We’re not the exclusive social club where everyone’s in bikinis with rock-hard abs (abs are welcome, but so are sweatpants and sneakers) — but we are about culture, creativity, wellness, and connection in a way that includes everyone.”
That inclusivity shows up at every touchpoint. “At our events, I want people to feel comfortable showing up alone and leaving with new friends you actually want to see again. In the magazine, I want them to discover stories that make them proud to be part of this city. Above all, I want Blüv to feel like it’s theirs.”
So who is she now, in the middle of building this vision? “I’m expanding — in vision, in energy, in the ways I want to connect people. I’m walking in light. I’m proud of what we’re building, and the energy coming together around this and excited for what’s ahead. And more than anything, I want people to feel good when they’re part of it — lighter, more connected, and glad they showed up.

BEYOND THE THEME PARKS, THE HEARTBEAT OF CENTRAL FLORIDA LIVES IN ITS NEIGHBORHOODS — EACH ONE A STORY, A COMMUNITY, AND A REMINDER OF WHY WE CALL THIS PLACE HOME.

“THE
PULSE OF THIS PLACE? IT’S FOUND IN THE SPACES WE SHARE, AND THOSE WE HAVE YET TO EXPLORE.”
Orlando is widely known for its flashing lights, Ferris wheels, and spectacular fireworks displays. Beyond the tourist glitter, Orlando pulses with the real heart of Central Florida a region woven together by a vibrant network of neighborhoods. These neighborhoods are not simply subdivisions but a patchwork of communities offering their own unique walkable downtowns, bustling farmers’ markets, colorful town festivals, and one-of-a-kind restaurants. Look past the theme parks, and you'll find a city rich with culture, community, and character. Through our neighborhoods, we experience “third places”, a concept that highlights spaces outside of home and work that foster a sense of community. From corner coffee shops to outdoor festivals, these third places aren’t just extras they’re essential to how locals connect, unwind, and belong. The best part? These neighborhood gems aren’t made for tourists they’re built by and for the locals who bring them to life. Whether it is the historic charm of Winter Park, the innovative brilliance of Lake Nona, or the eclectic shops and good eats of Mills-50, neighborhoods are quickly becoming recognized as the true heartbeat of Central Florida living.

However, it wasn’t always this way. There was a time when your only brunch option in Oviedo was The Town House, or when Anthony’s was College Park’s only dependable pizza joint and hangout (and these will always be classics for a reason!), but in recent years, neighborhoods have been purposefully revitalizing their original downtown areas to create personalized, unique city hubs. Food halls with diverse dining fare, energetic trivia nights at breweries, and colorful downtown festivals are just a few of the up-and-coming additions to our local neighborhoods. The best part? Central Florida residents have the privilege of getting to dig deeper into these local gems scattered around the city that would otherwise pass tourists by.
Next time you plan your night out, consider the small neighborhood town centers that are capturing the hearts of locals alike, such as the historic yet revitalized Downtown Winter Garden. Make visiting Plant Street Market the top of your list, as it features a plethora of dining options nestled into a local food hub. Downton Winter Garden is the perfect gathering place for local eats, live music, and pop-up events, as well as craft brews from the fan-favorite Crooked Can Brewing Company. Don’t forget to mark Friday on the Plaza in your calendar, and head to Centennial Plaza for free outdoor concerts and local bands.
Tucked just east of downtown, the Milk District is one of Orlando’s most creative and authentic local neighborhoods Full of flavor, art, and local influence, this once purely industrial area, home to the T G Lee Dairy Plant, has transformed into a vibrant third place for locals and visitors to enjoy.
Whether you’re craving a casual taco from the funky Gringos Locos or a cozy bite from Se7en Bites’ southern comfort food, there’s a flavorful mix of neighborhood favorites and hidden gems that feel like a local’s bestkept secret available in the Milk District. If you’re searching for live music and nightlife, check out the Nook on Robinson, a quaint neighborhood bar with patio hangs, open mic nights, and acoustic sets. Don’t forget to visit Milk Mart, a recurring local creators’ market featuring food trucks, handmade goods, vintage finds, and music. The Milk District offers a completely different flavor vibrant, gritty, and full of artistic soul showcasing just how diverse and dynamic Orlando’s neighborhoods can be. From this creative enclave, we head to a community that’s reimagining the future: Lake Nona.
“TAKETHISASYOUR
Modern, energetic, and forward-thinking, Lake Nona is one of Central Florida’s newest neighborhoods, where it’s already making a name for itself as a destination where technology, food, and community come together. If you’re looking for a neighborhood that blends innovation with community, Lake Nona is your place. Some must-dos on your list will include the lively Boxi Park, which features live music every weekend, as well as family-friendly events, DJs, and food festivals. Wellness is a priority in Lake Nona as well, and establishments like the Lake Nona Performance Club offer next-generation fitness options and a wellness center.
From festivals to local fare, Lake Nona is constantly evolving and adding new amenities to its neighborhood. But if Lake Nona represents what's next, Sanford is a proud nod to what came before where history and energy meet on the brick-lined streets of a city with soul.
Located on the shores of Lake Monroe, just north of Orlando, lies Sanford, one of Central Florida’s most historic and increasingly vibrant local neighborhoods. There, you’ll be greeted by brick-lined streets, historic storefronts, and an ever-growing lineup of craft breweries and cultural events.
Be sure to check out the preserved architecture featuring restored 19th-century buildings, as well as visit the Sanford Art Walk held monthly, which spotlights many local artists. Whether you ' re strolling the Riverwalk or stepping into a gallery, Sanford invites you to slow down and savor its charm reminding us that every neighborhood has a story waiting to be rediscovered
We’ve barely scratched the surface with all the neighborhoods that make up Central Florida there’s still the urban-yet-suburban hybrid neighborhood of SoDo (South of Downtown) that features Delaney Park, with tree-lined streets and tennis courts providing a break from the concrete jungle, as well as the SoDo shopping center with a mix of local and national businesses. On the opposite side of Downtown, you’ll find Ivanhoe Village with its artsy and vintage-inspired vibe showcased in establishments such as The Pinery restaurant, with upscale dining and lakeside views. Vintage shops are scattered throughout the area, as well as eclectic bar venues. Let’s not forget College Park, known for fanfavorite dining such as The Tap Room at Dubsdread, Turci Pasta, or Cups and Pups Coffee Speaking of dining, East End Market’s Domu holds a Michelin star for its ramen and craft cocktails. Fast-paced or slow, these neighborhoods cater to a variety of vibes and lifestyles, each offering its own slice of what makes Central Florida feel like home
“EVERYNEIGHBORHOOD HAS ASTORYWAITINGTO BE REDISCOVERED.”
As locals, we have a front-row view into the evergrowing neighborhoods and communities that make our city what it is. Within these smaller settings, local community and connection are fostered more authentically and purposefully, rather than visiting another tourist attraction. In our neighborhoods, we can foster a sense of pride in our hometown by celebrating the people and places that make the city what it is. There’s always somewhere new to explore and try, so take this as your sign to get to know your city a little better, starting with the intimate neighborhoods we often miss at first glance.

Tell us about a moment when you felt Orlando—like really felt it.
“A core memory of Orlando that I’m always reminded of is Festival Calle Orange, Orlando’s take on the Calle Ocho Carnaval in Miami. A 10-block festival in downtown Orlando that has been celebrating Latin music and dance for more than 20 years.
What also makes me truly feel at home in Orlando is that, after traveling, there’s nothing like that moment when you’re driving back into town and instantly know you’re in Orlando It’s a feeling that’s both grounding and energizing like the city wraps you in a familiar embrace. You just know you’re home.”
What do you hope people feel when they see, hear, or experience BLÜV?
“I want them to feel the culture of Orlando its energy, its creativity, and the people shaping the scene I hope they’re excited to see what’s next, eager to know what’s happening, and ready to be part of it BLÜV should feel like the heartbeat of the city a space where everyone wants to belong ”

Where do you go in the city to remember who you are?
“I have two places. The first is my parents’ backyard, located in the heart of our city our ‘mini Puerto Rico.’ I’ll swing on the hammock, feel that hot Florida breeze, and stare up at the fruit trees It’s a sensory trip back to childhood, full of comfort and connection, and I also must mention our city's nature trails do I even need to explain? Hehe There’s something about the sound of nature that pulls you back to your core.”
What does “community” look or feel like to you right now? And how is BLÜV adding onto that definition?
“Right now, community feels like the Orlando scene diverse, vibrant, and constantly showing up for what matters It’s the local businesses, creatives, and neighbors who pour themselves into making this city thrive BLÜV is adding to that by becoming a cultural hub where brands can show up, be seen, and grow alongside a network that values connection, authenticity, and visibility.”
In a few words: who are you in this chapter of your life?
“I am in the budding stage of my life like a flower in early bloom My roots are deep, nourished by past experiences and the people who’ve shaped me My stem is strong, pushing upward with purpose And right now, the petals are just beginning to unfold I am truly excited to follow this journey being a part of this BLÜV team ”

by DJ Demi Korrin

EVERY EVENT I CURATE, EVERY SET I SPIN, IS ROOTED IN A BELIEF THAT MUSIC CAN CONNECT US, HEAL US, AND REMIND US WHO WE ARE.
At my first Mi Gente block party, I looked around and saw families playing dominoes, kids racing around with pastelitos in hand, abuelitas dancing to salsa, and friends reconnecting over cafecito; all in the middle of Orlando. That moment was powerful. It reminded me why I fell in love with this city: the energy, the culture, the people. Years ago, I started building community here as a development specialist and later as an event coordinator at the Orlando Museum of Art. But that day, watching it all unfold in the street, I realized something deeper: Orlando isn’t just where I live. It’s where culture comes alive. And it’s my role to help make that happen.
I’m a DJ, curator, and community builder. Before fully stepping into music, I worked to empower small businesses and uplift young local artists. Those experiences shaped how I move now with a focus on creating spaces where people feel seen and celebrated. Through workshops like Her Turn to Spin, I help women step into the booth with confidence. Through Mi Gente, I throw block parties that feel like home. Every event I curate, every set I spin, is rooted in a belief that music can connect us, heal us, and remind us who we are.
Now with BLÜV, I get to take that same energy into storytelling and cultural programming. As Entertainment Curator, I’m here to make sure Orlando’s artists, DJs, and creatives get their shine. To me, Blüv is about more than coverage; it’s about capturing what’s real. It’s about highlighting the voices and spaces that make this city vibrant and alive. From the booth to the block, this work is all connected. And I’m proud to be part of what’s next.

The moment that made you say, “This is my city.”
It was when I finally stepped outside my comfort zone and started exploring Orlando it isn’t just the theme parks. I discovered hidden gems, explored new neighborhoods, moved around, made new friends, and suddenly the city started to feel like mine. That’s really when I claimed Orlando as my home, and honestly, the reason I started creating content around it.
If someone only had one day to see Orlando through your eyes
We’d start in Winter Park with brunch at The Glass Knife (because coffee + pastries are a must), grab an iced coffee at Barney’s, then hop on the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour for the prettiest views. After that, we’d head downtown for a late lunch or happy hour at The Wellborn and catch a matinee performance at Dr. Phillips Center. For the evening, I’d finish things off at Bar Helios, the rooftop bar with the most incredible view overlooking Epic Universe, the newest theme park. It’s a full day, but that’s Orlando through my eyes a little bit indulgent, a little bit of each area, and a lot of fun.
How does what you create add to Orlando’s heartbeat?
What I create is all about showing that there’s something for everyone here Yes, I highlight the big, magical experiences at Disney and Universal, but I also love supporting the smaller, local businesses that make Orlando’s culture so unique. I want people to see both sides the world-class entertainment and the hidden corners and realize they all add up to the heartbeat of this city.
What does BLÜV mean to you, and how will you be contributing to it?
BLÜV, to me, is about telling Orlando’s stories from the inside out. I’ll be covering arts and theater, which is so special to me because I grew up dancing ballet (and still do recreationally). I love catching Orlando Ballet at Dr. Phillips, seeing Broadway tours, laughing at comedy shows really experiencing the full arts scene. Orlando has such incredible performers, both in the traditional spaces and even within the theme parks, and I’m lucky enough to be friends with many of them I can’t wait to bring first-person stories and experiences to BLÜV that showcase just how alive and talented this city really is.

EVEN IN A PLACE YOU HAVE KNOWN ALL YOUR LIFE, THERE IS ALWAYS A NEW ENERGY WAITING FOR YOU.

rlando has never just been a place I live; it is in my blood. My mom’s roots run deep in Seminole County, my dad’s in Orange County, and growing up with family spread across both gave me a front-row seat to the fullness of this city. From Friday night lights in tight-knit neighborhoods to the electric hum of downtown on a Saturday night, I have known this city’s heartbeat since I could walk.
After my pro career, there was never a question of where I would go next. Orlando was not just home; it was my foundation, my network, and the place I knew I could pour my energy back into.
I am a former professional football player turned luxury real estate advisor, artist, and community builder. I am also the President of the NFLPA Former Players Orlando Chapter, a role that allows me to champion both athletes and the local community. My days are split between guiding clients into homes that reflect their aspirations, creating bold, emotion-driven acrylic paintings, and leading initiatives that connect people and opportunities. I am deeply passionate about philanthropy, using my time, platform, and resources to impact lives in meaningful ways. Whether it is negotiating a multimillion-dollar deal, mentoring young athletes, or organizing events that unite people, my goal is always the same, to inspire connection and elevate experiences in my city.
If you had only one day to see Orlando through my eyes, we would start early, catching the sunrise over Lake Eola as swans glide past in the soft morning light. From there, we would grab coffee downtown at Stemma or Craft & Common, both with that perfect balance of modern design and hometown warmth.
By midday, we would head to Winter Park’s Park Avenue, shaded brick streets, the clink of coffee cups, and an atmosphere that makes you slow down We would brunch at Gourmet Croissant or linger over a latte at Foxtail Coffee, taking in the people and the pace.
The afternoon would find us in Winter Park Village at Bar Italia, where the food is as captivating as the scene. As evening approaches, we would slip back to Park Avenue for dinner at Ava Mediterranean, which effortlessly transforms into an upscale lounge as the night unfolds.
We would close the day with a nightcap at Morse Code Lounge, intimate, stylish, and always buzzing with the kind of crowd that makes you want to stay a little longer.
Everything I do, whether it is guiding someone to their dream home, creating art that stirs conversation, or hosting events that unite people, is rooted in one mission: to leave them with love, peace, and a better quality of life. I see myself as both a connector and a curator, linking people to the right information, the right opportunities, and the right communities. In real estate, that means matching clients with spaces that reflect their aspirations. In my art, it is crafting pieces that carry emotion. In my community and philanthropic work, it is creating spaces where connection, opportunity, and growth thrive.
One of my favorite everyday moments is my morning run through downtown. The air is cool, the streets are still, and the skyline catches that first golden light. Shop owners are setting up, familiar joggers pass by, and you can feel the city slowly waking up. It is a reminder that even in a place you have known all your life, there is always a new energy waiting for you.
Every chapter of my life, from the stadium lights to the art studio to the closing table, has been driven by the same mission: to create something lasting. Orlando has given me opportunities, relationships, and a platform to build on, and now I am intent on returning that energy tenfold.
“ORLANDO HAS NEVERJUSTBEEN APLACE I LIVE, ITIS IN MYBLOOD."
When I think of BLÜV, I think of amazing people creating amazing environments to deliver an amazing product, for an amazing community. My role is to bring Orlando’s luxury, lifestyle, and community heartbeat into focus, sharing not just the places but the people and stories that make this city extraordinary.
If BLÜV were a scent, it would be Baccarat, wildly known, effortlessly luxurious, and timeless. The kind of presence that lingers, captivates, and never loses its allure. That is exactly what I want every contribution to feel like: unforgettable.

“If BLÜV were a scent, it would be Baccarat. Wildly known, effortlessly luxurious, and timeless.”

“Electric Feel by MGMT is the song of Orlando”

“Orlando fashion is urban, elegant, relaxed, and chic.”

“Orlando is golden like that first pour: bright, effervescent, celebratory.”

What’s your lane—and how did you find yourself in it?
My lane is photography, mostly like capturing good portraits and events. My specialty is creating polished content for social media and similar platforms. Photography is definitely my thing.
What does your corner of Central Florida look like through your eyes?
My corner is mostly East Orlando, so I find it’s a good mixture of families and college kids. It’s a good area for people who have young kids. The service we offer is good for families in town, but also for the community in general. We love creating really cool immersive experiences that are more off the beaten path than typical photo sessions. Many people don’t know you can have a fully styled, custom photoshoot and a fun experience. We love working with people of all ages to capture these special memories.
What’s a moment—recent or core memory—that made you fall in love with this city (or a part of it)?
Growing up and going to Disney all the time was pretty cool, and I know it’s pretty cliche. I always loved having a variety of things to do here, between going to state parks or there, always being community events or theme parks. Most of my core memories are enjoying those things and kind of exploring, and it's never boring. Now, it’s kind of fun to do the same things with my kids, where we’re always doing all of the fun activities and going to the parks.

ORLANDO ISN’T JUST WHERE I LIVE IT’S WHERE I COME ALIVE.
by Yomi Herrera
Many don’t know this, but I used to live in Madrid, Spain. And although it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life, it never truly felt like home. When I decided to move back to the States, I originally thought of a bigger city like New York to catapult my career. But deep down, I kept feeling a strong tug, this gut feeling, to return to Orlando I didn’t hesitate The moment I came back, it felt right. It felt like home. Orlando became the place where I knew I could make my dreams a reality.
Coming home gave me clarity not just about where I wanted to be, but who I wanted to become. I realized I could build something meaningful right here. That I didn’t have to fit into anyone else’s version of success. I could define it for myself. And that’s exactly what I’ve done.

I’m a fashion stylist and social media marketing strategist. I like to think I bring a different flair to Orlando, showing people that fashion here is alive and thriving. So often, we look to New York, LA, Paris, Milan, or London for inspiration, but Orlando has its own unique style. It’s this blend of urban, elegant, relaxed, and chic.
Through my workshops, I help people discover their personal style. I see myself as a style strategist, empowering others to use fashion as a tool Style is armor. It’s what helps build your confidence. When people see you, they notice your outer shield before they get to know your personality. That first impression becomes a bridge, connecting how you look with who you are.
That’s why BLÜV feels like the perfect fit. It’s a platform that pulls everything together music, art, fashion, and even family-friendly events and gives people a true sense of what Orlando has to offer. I’ve always loved spotlighting the vibrancy of this city, and now I get to share that energy on an even larger scale.
BLÜV isn’t just about what’s happening it’s about how it makes you feel. If it were a song, it’d be Make Me Feel by Oskar med K. There’s this one lyric: “Don’t nobody else make me feel like you.” That’s exactly how Orlando hits for me vibrant, emotional, alive

So who are we? We’re Josh and Marie partners in life and in passion.
Together, we run Orlandotravelfoodies, a space where we connect with our community, spotlight the people who make our city thrive, and share the places that keep Orlando vibrant.
Our cultural roots in Puerto Rico and Mexico give us a deep appreciation for flavor, tradition, and the way food and celebration bring people together.
For us, storytelling isn’t just about reviews it’s about experiences, the kind that connect people to a city on a deeper level.

By Josh & Marie Ojeda
When people ask us where we’re from, we can proudly say: Orlando raised us.
We grew up going to the amusement parks, surrounded by fun places, endless music, and the kind of energy that makes you feel like something exciting is always around the corner.
Back then, Downtown Disney and Universal CityWalk were our playgrounds. Over the years, we’ve watched Orlando grow, evolve, and redefine itself. Somewhere along the way, we realized: this is our city. The one that shaped us, and the one we now get to reintroduce to the world.
For us, BLÜV would be champagne. Always champagne. Because Orlando is golden like that first pour: bright, effervescent, celebratory.
It’s a city that sparkles with sunshine and nightlife a place where elegance and fun can live in the same glass. And what better way to toast the beginning of something new than with bubbles?
Here’s to BLÜV, and to all the stories waiting to be told.
