2025 SAN ANTONIO TRENDS FOR TRANSFORMATION

RUSTIC & NATURAL
Combine natural materials like reclaimed wood and leather with modern elements like concrete countertops and quartz finishes.

VIBRANT COLORS & HANDCRAFTED
PIECES
Look for bold color palates, intricate tile work, and artisan-made furniture pieces that reflect San Antonio’s cultural vibrancy.

INDOOR-OUTDOOR LIVING
Seamlessly integrate indoor and outdoor spaces with greenery, cozy furnishings, and retractable doors to take advantage of San Antonio’s pleasant climate.

CLEVER INTERIOR DECORATING TIPS
While your personal taste is, of course, unique to you, here are six universal principles that can make any room feel more “you”:
START WITH A NATURAL BASE
Use whites, creams, or grays for walls and larger furniture pieces—then layer in color.

MIX TEXTURES AND MATERIALS
Blend wood, metal, glass, and fabrics to add richness and depth.

MAKE IT PERSONAL
Showcase family photos, travel mementos, or favorite art to add emotional warmth.

LAYER YOUR LIGHTING

Combine ceiling lights, table lamps, and sconces for balance and mood.

USE MIRRORS STRATEGICALLY
Reflect light and expand small spaces with well-placed mirrors. Position them opposite windows or in smaller rooms.

EDIT THOUGHTFULLY
Keep your look fresh by decluttering. Less can truly be more.

SENIOR WHEELS ROLLS INTO THE FUTURE.
In 1987, resident Bill Cargill and a small group of cycling enthusiasts founded the Blue Skies of Texas cycling club. They called themselves the Wheelmen and organized regular rides through the peaceful countryside surrounding Highway 90. Over the years, the club continued to grow, and earlier this year, it undertook a full charter update that formalized officer roles, created new bylaws, and introduced a new name: Senior Wheels. The club elected new leadership in May, who pledged to focus on maintaining the club’s legacy while expanding its relevance to a broader cross-section of Blue Skies residents. Today, Senior Wheels hosts rides on Mondays and Wednesdays, welcoming resident riders from their mid-60s to late-80s.

Which living person do you most admire?
My stepdad—who jumped in and became a bonus dad to my sister and me in our 20s and grandfather to our kiddos—is an amazing man. He’s the one I go to when I need advice or help; he is full of wisdom, kindness, and generosity.
What’s your greatest extravagance?
My greatest extravagance is vacationing every three to four months.
What’s your go-to pick-me-up song? “The Sun Will Rise” by Kelly Clarkson.
What talent would you most like to have?
I would love to be able to sing well!

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement is homeschooling my four kids and raising them to be kind, responsible, loving people.
What was the first concert you attended?
Sadly, I don’t remember, but it was a country concert with three of my sisters.
What was your first motor vehicle?
My grandma’s gold Honda Accord.
What’s the most San Antonio thing you can do?
I speak fluent Spanish (to the untrained ear) and eat tacos almost daily.
