WHO WE ARE The Blue Planet brand was born in the Hawaiian Islands 23 years ago and has prided itself on being at the cutting e d g e o f S t a n d U p P a d d l e B o a r d design and technology ever since.
In 2016 Robert and the Blue Planet team are still living their dream and our products are available all around the world with key distributors in Australia, mainland USA, Canada, Fiji and parts of Asia.
O U R H I S TO RY. The name Blue Planet was inspired by the view from an airplane window returning home to Hawaii - We live on a Blue Planet, more than two thirds of earth is covered by water with the Earth’s Oceans absorbing significantly more carbon dioxide than all the forests in the world combined. As a business, we do our best to protect this great resource and use environmentally responsible materials, conserve energy and recycle. We encourage our customers to do the same and believe that having fun in the ocean is a key factor for motivating us in protecting it - so our mission is simple... help more people have fun on the water. I N H AWA I I New for 2016: Bullet proof vests are made of Kevlar weave, and so are the rails on the Blue Planet Bamboo SUP’s. Kevlar is one of the most resilient materials available and our rails are made to take some abuse.
The standing area of all Blue Planet SUP’s is re - enforced with a patch of light and strong 3K Carbon f ibre, this patch runs rail to rail and strengthens the board in this critical area where standing and kneeling on the board can other wise cause damage.
Blue Planet SUP’s are the result of years of testing and ref inements. Rober t Stehlik uses computer aided design and input from team riders to make incremental improvements to our high per formance shapes. 13
