CASE STUDY: COLIN ALLRED TX-32
Former NFL player and Obama administration staffer Colin Allred was in a seven-way primary in the spring of 2018. He was up against an EMILY’s List-backed candidate, a DCCC-backed candidate, and a former local TV anchor with huge name ID. Needless to say, this was a tough race. Our opponents quickly went up on TV with large buys in the Dallas market. Since we couldn’t compete on TV, the Allred campaign decided to own the doors and mailboxes.
We ran a 10-piece plan in the primary, winning the race by 20 points and moving on to the runoff. In the runoff, we dropped 14 pieces and won the race by 38 points. In the general election, Colin beat incumbent Pete Sessions by six points, outperforming Hillary Clinton’s 2016 win in the district. In total, we produced 53 pieces of mail between the primary, the runoff, and the general.
CASE STUDY: NJ LCV
Gubernatorial Primary and General 2017
Phil Murphy started off his race in good shape, due in no small part to the failings of Chris Christie; however, there was still some work to do with women in both the primary and general. Working with the national and NJ League of Conservation Voters, we dropped a total of seven pieces. Phil’s Clean Energy by 2050 pledge was particularly persuasive with young women. We mailed younger women in both the primary and the general using social pressure tactics to help drive up turnout among that critical group. Phil coasted to victory in both races.
CASE STUDY: HD-157 AND HD-26
Chester County PA State House Races, 2018 & 2022
Chester County is one of those critical Philadelphia suburbs we hear about every election cycle – if Democrats do well here, it’s a good sign for Democrats across the country. We are proud of our work all over Chester County, especially our flips in State House District 157 in 2018 and State House District 26 in 2022.
HD-157 – Melissa Shusterman was a mom and a small business owner who ran for this seat to create bipartisan results for her community. Melissa’s opponent, Warren Kampf, was a very popular fourth-term incumbent. He was viewed as moderate, and cycle after cycle, he proved unbeatable – in 2016, Warren won reelection by 11 points. In 2018, with our aggressive 17-piece mail plan, we beat Warren. Melissa won by 13 points.
HD-26 – Paul Friel ran for this seat in 2020 and lost by seven points. He changed up his team and brought in consultants with an eye toward creative and authentic communications. As part of that new team, we focused on Paul’s biography and his record of results in the private sector and on the School Board. And we painted a stark contrast with his opponent, a 30-year incumbent, on abortion access. Based on polling and analytics, this race was a dead heat – in the end, we won by 11 points.

In 2024, Representative Plesa was Governor Abbott’s number one target. With a robust mail, digital, and field program she was able to grow her victory from 859 votes in 2022 to over 3,000 votes in 2024. We ran this spot to a broad digital audience and mirrored this message in display and mail.

Yes, the Boebert seat! We worked with Dr. Debby Burnett to craft a video that played to her rural roots and acknowledged the absurdity and damage done by the incumbent.
This video went viral on TikTok — receiving over 1.1M views, and won three Pollie Awards for creativity and humor.
VOTE NAKED, BUCKS COUNTY PA
Working with Bucks Votes, we crafted a vote by mail turnout digital program. We ran CTV, video, display, and social media ads to encourage lower propensity voters to vote by mail in critical Bucks County, a bell weather County for the nation. This program helped hold control of the State House in a very tough election cycle in Pennsylvania.
