Laura and Paul led a conversation about what makes a ood creative mentor, writin responses up on the flipchart. Whilst all these thin s were happenin in one room, Art Town was developin in another, with Laura workin with two children at a time to film Art Town with an iPad. Children took what they had made home with them, alon with additional materials or carryin on their creativity at home.
What happened?
Artists Laura De nan and Paul Murray co- acilitated the Darlin ton day with nine children a ed 7 - 11. One carer stayed to support their child.
A doodle jam then ot the children thinkin about the creative activities they do inside and outside school. They created paper trees to think about what kind o creative activities they would like to et involved in.
Laura and Paul used the concept o ‘Art Town’ to deliver the day. A ter the introduction and warm-up ames, Laura and Paul acilitated a roup conversation about arts venues. The children then created their own paper arts venue, writin down and talkin about the creative activities that happen there.
