Presentation
It is not easy to keep pessimism…
There is an old saying – everybody’s business is nobody’s business. Well, in this case it is right the opposite - what is good for you, is definitely good for us. We have had an amazing year at Jasopels, and this trend seems to continue, due to many different circumstances. It is obvious that the pelt prices have a great influence on how much it is being invested, however we are aware that the price has a secondary meaning if we as a supplier do not have the right articles. We know from our customers that our products receive high scores in what we call crucial points, as e.g. quality, finish, user-friendliness and last but not least – value for money. The sale of over 150 WRAP MaxiStretch Pinning Machine is a clear evidence for that. Generally the feedback that we receive from our customers has been more than positive – basically, all of them have declared that they achieved better results than with other machines. On the whole, the number of pelts being pinned in an unshrinkable manner is 10 million worldwide. On page 48 you can read about Jens Erik Thomsen telling about the experience he gained with WRAP MaxiStretch Pinning Machine at Stigshøjminkfarm. Our Fleshing Mashine has been continuously appreciated for the good and solid fleshing work it performs, and yet we are still working on improving it. Therefore we have developed a facility called Active Per4mance® so that it is possible to steer pressure and speed (differentiated forward speed is patented) more accurately in all four zones. It makes a visible and noticeable difference for pelts. Ove Svendsen from Give is one of the many customers who bought Jasopels Fleshing Mashine last year, read about his experiences with the machine on page 41.
In the article you can also read about the Pelting Robot, which received a much needed facelift last year. The new arm system for skinning has been introduced in response to growing demand for larger pelt sizes. Thanks to that, the machine is now able to take the largest skins without stopping and it works much faster. Further improvements in the Skin Removal System are going to reduce skins handling more, which of course means higher productivity. Our Farm Manager is a great example of development paying off. The system has been tested solidly for one year. The facilities, which are already a part of the highly developed management tool, have been also improved. Many customers have already purchased the Farm Manager and the interest in the system is still very high. Martin Sinkjær is one of the customers who have been with us from the beginning. Martin, together with two other breeders, has greatly helped to develop the system, so it meets the requirements of the farm. There has been a strong focus on the Wire and its quality in these years. I would like to take this opportunity to say that in this area there is a straight line between price and quality. Rigorous tests have proven that our CrapalPremium® has up to 8 x longer lifespan than other highly galvanized wire. We will not compromise on quality, that is why we maintain stringent requirements for our suppliers. Wire Wire CrapalPremium® The latest addition to high quality products from ArcelorMittal is CrapalPremium® made of a patented zink, aluminium and magnesium alloy which ensures longer life compared to traditional zinc and aluminium products. At present, Jasopels has sole access in the world to welded wire mesh made of the new alloy which gives a smoother surface, lengthens service life, and consequently is a more economical solution for fur farmers.
We have recently decided to sell better quality only at the same reasonable price as Crapal®4, which from now on will be discontinued. Besides, we can still offer a wide range of stainless AISI 304 and PVC-coated wire of the CrapalPremium® quality.

Breeding boxes Breeding boxes
Breeding boxes from Jasopels are made on CNC machinery with an accuracy of 1/10 mm on all boxes. Jasopels uses a CNC machine to make our breeding boxes, enabling a precision of within 1/10 mm on all sizes. Our boxes are manufactured from 11 layers of hard-pressed birch wood plate. Countersunk holes are made with the CNC machine, creating holes without sharp edges. Mountings are in stainless steel. Our breeding boxes are prepared and manufactured in our state-of-the-art workshops, all holes are pre-drilled to ensure correct mounting of the fittings, and all partition walls are also pre-drilled to ensure precisely assembly of boxes and unique mouldings on the front boards so that there is no need to mount the locks. Because we make these boxes, we can offer our customers a customised service to suit individual requirements. Most of our international customers prefer to assemble the boxes themselves, and we have therefore made them so that they can be flat packed and transported at minimal cost and assembled on arrival without hassle. Because we use such long-lasting and high quality materials, demand for our breeding boxes has been extremely high, making them one of the most attractive models on the market. Farm Manager takes care of all the important details
It may sound a bit like a riddle in a cartoon: What do you get if you put a committed mink breeder with lots of good ideas together and a talented software developer who is crazy about feeding machines on a farm for most of a calendar year? The answer is actually Farm Manager - a groundbreaking new tool that helps mink breeders with individual feeding, optimization of daily tasks and taking records of sick or dead animals! "Farm Manager is created on the basis of the user's daily work and this means that we now have a tool that is easy to use and covers a wide range of needs that we have in the farm’s daily operation," says Martin Sinkjær from Brandborg Mink by Ulfborg. "We feed 365 days a year. There are minks which we for one or another reason need to pay special attention to. And when I have "told" this to Farm Manager, I can have anyone do the feeding because the system knows how I want it done," says Martin Sinkjær. Farm Manager consists of a well-organized screen that is mounted on the feeding machine. With a single touch of the screen you can retrieve and record various data by using a set of preset symbols. Farm Manager keeps track of where exactly you are on the farm, mink feed consumption, possible medica-

tion consumption and other essential information about any given cage. Farm Manager was developed as a result of close collaboration between Martin Sinkjær from Brandborg Mink and software programmer Kenneth Zobbe from Jasopels in just ten months, where Kenneth, among other tasks, spent some time on the feeding machine – filming, recording and observing what the breeder does throughout the feeding process and why. After this the data have been translated into computer language – what the farmer needs to be able to do is very simple – it is all adjusted to the needs of the individual farmer. A lot of feed has gone through the feeding machine’s tube in the nearly ten months it has taken the duo to perfect Farm Manager. The program’s solutions are inspired by idea exchange between several mink breeders and their different ways of approaching various tasks. "The solutions are based on daily needs and tasks. Continued from page 16 "I have foreign employees on my farm. They are very nice and skilful, but it is way more difficult to communicate properly in foreign languages. It's easier to relate to numbers and symbols. Farm Manager is the tool that ensures that everything is done properly. I can always control and check various data, as the system makes sure that my minks get what they need," says Martin SinkjĂŚr. Individual feeding means that conditions are optimal and therefore the results are even better. "A female that gave birth to 10 little ones must obviously get more to eat than one that has given birth to two! You can dispense medication the same way so that a mink that has, for example, diarrhea gets the right medicine for five days. The system keeps records of all that! This helps you reduce the amounts of money spent on medication, while it is also more rational to only medicate these animals that are actually ill. We have the computer systematize our work and we can retrieve data from the system if a veterinarian needs to use them or for other purposes. We can retrieve details regarding a specific cage in a specific row at a specific moment," says Martin SinkjĂŚr. "Farm Manager can also make notes of all the observations you make during feeding. You can register a variety of tasks quickly and easily and then deliver a list to the person who is

supposed to perform the tasks. This can be done in a language of your preference," describes Martin. Kenneth has spent a long time getting the contents of Farm Manager ready. It has required that different technologies have been developed, such as the touch screen, so that Farm Manager is sufficiently clear and easy to use. Thanks to that a farmer do not need to be a computer geek to use Farm Manager. Getting started with Farm Manager is not difficult. Essentially you start out with the base program, which Kenneth helps you get started with. You learn on the basis of 2 to 3 rows and add extra rows until you have covered the whole farm. If you are in doubt about anything, you can call Kenneth and get further assistance. The collaboration between Martin and Kenneth is by no means finished. They are currently carrying out tests regarding feeding during the mating season. The latest innovation is that Farm Manager can now be controlled with a joystick that is mounted on the feeder tube. This way you avoid having to move your hand over to the screen, as you are able to enter information in Farm Manager using the three buttons on the handle. The sale of the joystick will begin during the national exhibition in Herning, where it will also be possible to see a demonstration of Farm Manager.

Soffie 950D with mixer has made feeding easier By journalist Thorkild Høj
Mink breeder Jens Meldgård from Holstebro changed the feeding machine last spring. He bought a Soffie 950D equipped with a mixer, a separate water tank, a 950 liter feed container, four-wheel drive and an ergonomic armrest. "I am very happy with it. I want to say that thanks to articulated steering it has never been easier to drive around in the mink sheds. I have also chosen the ergonomic armrest, which works really well and makes feeding an easier task. When I sit on the feeding machine, I let my forearm and hand rest on the hose and this way I can relax and avoid straining my shoulder and neck as much as before," says Jens Meldgård. Soffie 950D is equipped with a water-cooled 26 HP Kubota diesel engine that is quiet and stable. The feeding machine is also equipped with a 4-way adjustable seat, which makes adjusting quick and easy. "At the moment two of us take turns to drive the feeding machine and we are somewhat different as far as height and body types are concerned. This is why it is really nice that it's so easy to adjust – both the seat and the ergonomic armrest – so it is top notch," says Jens Meldgård. Previously Jens Meldgård used a traditional feeding machine with a tub at the front and a capacity of 500 liters.

"It's the first time I have had a feeding machine with a stirring device in the tank. It is absolutely fantastic, the way it makes the daily work easier – both when you need to add water, for example during the puppy season or when it is very cold. Once you have tried it, you cannot understand how you were able to live without it," says Jens Meldgård with a big smile. "Our work processes have become more effective and rational. Since we have increased the feeding machine’s capacity, we can have two days’ worth of feed in it and do not have to deposit a portion of the feed in the feed silo. It's easier this way," concludes Jens Meldgård. On Jens Meldgård’s farm there are open sheds with concrete floors, which is why he has not noticed much difference thanks to the four-wheel drive. "It may actually make a bigger difference when there is a lot of snow. So far I can say that it is a machine that is very easy to use and seems reliable. We have received nothing but good service at Jasopels whenever there was something along the way," says Jens Meldgård

Jasopels drums The new series of drums from Jasopels has – after only one season won a lot of recognition both at our domestic market as well as the export markets. We do believe it has more reasons. Pelting Robot does the hardest work
Mink breeder Jens Arne Kristiansen from Broby on the island of Funen bought a new Pelting Robot XXL and a WRAP MaxiStretch from Jasopels for the 2011 pelting season. By journalist Thorkild Høj
"We have the pelting robot take care of skinning the males. I skin the females with a good friend of mine, we have been doing that for many years, but it's way too hard with the males, so the Pelting Robot must take care of this part of the job", says Jens Arne Kristiansen, who has worked with minks since 1984. "The Pelting Robot does a fine and consistent job, but we've had some problems with the small sizes. Until we got the pelting robot altered, there was a tendency for the small pelts to tear on the belly - now we have had the holders made more flexible and this way the problem with the smaller skins has been solved," says Jens Arne Kristiansen, who has been using the Pelting Robot for about ten years. "I think one of the major improvements in the pelting robot is that you do not need to grab the skin manually. After the difficulties with introducing the machine, I look forward to the next season, where I think we will try to use the robot to skin the larger females as well," says Jens Arne Kristiansen. It is mainly the same employee who has been operating the Pelting Robot, but Jens Arne Kristiansen has made himself thoroughly acquainted with the machine, as he believes that the boss should pave the way towards optimal results himself. "It is important that work goes smoothly and that focus is kept on good results. My main task is to ensure that we make skins that are as flawless as possible and obviously I must be able to give my employees advice in that respect," says Jens Arne Kristiansen. can always get good support if we have problems. But I use my own experience and get thoroughly acquainted with the machines so that I can get work to go smoothly myself," says Jens Arne Kristiansen. The mink breeder from Funen has also purchased a WRAP MaxiStretch from Jasopels. "It's unbelievably easy to use. We have been stretching with no problems. I have done no more than tighten a single screw in the course of the whole season. The display is very user-friendly and easy to get around in. It is a little slower, but we focus on quality rather than speed and we managed to get a lot of skins to become a size larger thanks to WRAP MaxiStretch," says Jens Arne Kristiansen. "WRAP Maxi Stretch is also cheaper to run. We have saved an almost entire salary this season on materials. The skins have a nice straight stretch line, there are no clamp marks and the skins keep their size much better with the wrap," the mink breeder says. "If I were to find a small detail, I think that the tails curl up easier in WRAP MaxiStretch. It is a small annoyance, which I have mentioned to Kurt from Jasopels to see if that can be fixed so that the tails are nicer. But otherwise there are only advantages of using a WRAP MaxiStretch," says Jens Arne Kristiansen.

"It's important to get a good start with the new skinning machines" emphasizes Ove Svendsen, who is a mink breeder from Høgelund, outside of Give. Before the last season he bought the newest Pelting Robot XXL, a Fleshing Machine T5 and the new Leather Side Drum from Jasopels. . By journalist Thorkild Høj
"Once we got the new machines introduced, it went gone really well. Quickly and with a very satisfactory result. But it did cause us a little bit of trouble before we really got started. In general the machines work very accurately and efficiently, which can save time and labor in a facility like ours, but to us quality is more important than working on piecework," says Ove Svendsen. The new Jasopels Pelting Robot XXL replaced Ove Svendsen’s older machine, the previous model, which he had used for skinning for five seasons. Unlike the previous model, the new one has two control buttons. "Of course, it does take getting used to, but that doesn’t take a long time," says Ove Svendsen. The new Pelting Robot is quieter and has been provided with a larger and more user-friendly display as well as new, updated software, which makes the machine easy to operate. The machine’s safety equipment has been upgraded and a better shielding of the moving parts has been provided, which also reduces noise when the machine is working. "The biggest change is probably the grabber arm system that pulls the skin away from the body. This means that we no longer have any size-related problems. Throughout the past seasons we had some trouble with the largest skins, but this is no longer an issue. It seems like there is more room for having the skin pulled away and the new grabber arm system is a significant improvement in comparison with the previous model," says Ove Svendsen. It is very easy to change the Pelting Robot’s settings, for example to switch it from females to males, thanks to the user-friendly display that makes the task a quick and simple one. All you need to do is press a single button and the pelting robot will change the settings automatically. "Along the way a problem occurred with the air motor by the main cutting device, which had to be replaced, but aside from that we've skinned about 18.000 mink over a four week period, having achieved a very fine and consistent quality and experienced no significant problems. Definitely a satisfactory result," says Ove Svendsen. "Once you’ve got to know the machine, the work jus flows. We have had a little adjustment issue - there is a short interval when the body is released after cutting and before the grabber arm pulls the skin away, but it is a matter of having the software updated, which will probably be taken care of now and the problem will be fixed," says Ove Svendsen. Ove Svendsen has previously outsourced skin fleshing, but for this pelting season he made a purchase at Jasopels, which included a Fleshing Machine T5 with extra fleshing rolls, a shock absorber, a beam cleaner and an extra fat suction device. "Right, in the very beginning it did not go perfectly well with the Fleshing Machine. We started with the wrong fleshing rolls and for a while we could not understand what the cause of the problem was. But when we switched to the right fleshing rolls it went really well," says Ove Svendsen. "We had not had a Flesh-
ing Machine before. This is why it was obvious for us to attend a training course at Jasopels before starting work, but we scraped a completely different type of skin there than the one we started with here, which is why the error occurred. Choosing the right fleshing rolls is a bit of a science," says Ove Svendsen. "On the other hand we now know that it is easy to replace the fleshing rolls of the Fleshing Machine. We've fleshed between 6,000 and 8,200 skins per set, depending on the skin type, and it has worked for us," says Ove Svendsen. "The Fleshing Machine is in general easy to operate and works really well. All adjustments are made via a display that is easy to use and quickly provides all the requested data regarding fleshed skin types, the applied pressure and speeds so that you can get a good overview. The operator must simply keep an eye on the skin when it is being fleshed in order to ensure an optimal result at all times," the mink breeder says. "After we started fleshing the skins ourselves the quality has become better and we can easily and quickly check things and make corrections, if it is necessary. It is very satisfying." "I think that Jasopels provides good service. They have a good phone system, thanks to which we can sort out many things just using the phone. If the problem is a more serious one, they are good at sending service engineers to customers very quickly and providing them with further assistance," says Ove Svendsen. Afterwards the skins are moved from the Fleshing Machine to the Leather Side Drum, which tumbles the skins on the leather side. This is a new type of drum that is quieter, has a larger drum diameter and sawdust feeding from the Fleshing Machine. "It's a matter of setting the drum at a proper slope. We only tumble the skins for 8-10 minutes on the leather side, after which they are clean. To us using the new Leather Side Drum means that we don’t have to tumble the skins again on the leather side in order to get them properly clean. "We are generally very satisfied with the new skinning machines from Jasopels. They have been helping us maintain a good workflow that gives good results, which this means that we are able to make it through the pelting season just fine with a crew of just five people," says Ove Svendsen.

Mink breeder Finn Nielsen from Midtsjællands Pelseri used Jasopels’ saw dust in the season of 2011. "I am well pleased with Jasopels' saw dust. My skins have got top grades as far as cleanness is concerned and that is exactly what I aim at achieving, so it is a good result," says Finn Nielsen. Midtsjællands Pelseri makes, among others, very fine skins in bright colors and there have been no problems with color transfer because of the saw dust. "I was skeptical before we started, but I must confess that our brightest, white skins are as clean as ever. We have achieved a superb result in 2011," says Finn Nielsen. "In my opinion the saw dust has a good texture; it is easy to work with and does not cause problems with dust. It lives up to my requirements and expectations regarding a good product," says Finn Nielsen. "In this context the price is not without importance and Jasopels' saw dust is in every way an excellent product at a cheaper price and since we have not been using larger amounts than usually, we have actually been saving money," concludes Finn Nielsen. Jasopels produces two types of saw dust, mix 50 and 60 fine, both of which are supplied in practical 22 kg bags. Midtsjællands Pelseri used both types to begin with – the 50
mix for the body drum and the 60 fine for the remaining tasks, but ended up using the 60 fine in the entire production process. "We do not need to keep the two types of saw dust separated and have found out that the Jasopels saw dust Mix is a universal product that easily tackles all challenges in our production, which is why we only need to use this one type," says Finn Nielsen. Jasopels' saw dust is produced in Germany, in a new production facility that started operating in 2011. The production is subject to continuous monitoring to ensure that the quality is always the best. It is recommended that customers let the saw dust become acclimatized by having it lie for a few days in the room, where it will be used, so that it can acquire room temperature. The product’s performance is best around 20-22 degrees, which is where its absorbency is optimal. You can also use a saw dust warmer and thus optimize the saw dust's ability to clean and absorb the fat.

Jasopels WRAP Maxi-Stretch Pinning machine was purchased for the pelting season in 2011 by the biggest pelting center on Zealand, Stigshøj near Nørre Asmindrup. The pelting center has used the machine for 40.000 skins in the season. By journalist Thorkild Høj “I must admit that I had been skeptical about the machine, before I took part in a Demo Day. We have a different set up, and I could not see clearly, how WRAP Maxi-Stretch Pinning Machine fitted into”, says Jens Erik Thomsen, daily manager on Stigshøj. “But I became interested and it ended up with Jasopels coming to us with its WRAP Maxi-Stretch Pinning Machine and we tried it on our own skins. It was a good day, and the truth is, the machine is being used until now”, says Jens Erik Thomsen with a smile. “We use it for our males and we have pinned around 40.000 pelts in the past pelting season. I must admit, it has

provided a great deal of pinning work. We strongly consider purchasing another Wrap MaxiStretch Pinning Machine for females in the forthcoming season as we are highly satisfied with the one we have”, says Jens Erik Thomsen. “It takes a bit longer with Wrap MaxiStretch Pinning Machine, but in return we save time on other tasks. The wrapped pelts are simply pulled out of boards together with paper sleeves; this is easy to handle. Our pelts have a really nice pinning line and there are no jaw marks, which is quite satisfactory” thinks Jens Erik Thomsen. “The employee who operates the machine has quickly learnt how to do it and then taught the others. Wrap MaxiStretch Pinning Machine is easy to operate and it works faultlessly. Many of the pelts we made are one size bigger, so we are quite satisfied. Those farmers whose pelts we have pinned, have also expressed their contentment”, says Jens Erik Thomsen.

Pelting machines Effective WRAP MaxiStretch has given larger and consistently stretched skins

For the latest pelting season mink breeder Kristian Krog from Rostved, Djursland, bought a new WRAP MaxiStretch, a fully automatic Skin Remover and a new Body Drum from Jasopels. Kristian Krog decided to switch to WRAP MaxiStretch after seeing a demonstration of it during the theme day in Bording last year. "I had heard about MaxiStretch before, but I want to say that I am very optimistic about seeing the outcome of this season's work. I think it's a great machine. It is easy to operate, cheap to run - with bags and plastic - and a great bargain. MaxiStretch gives us longer furs that are more consistently stretched and have a nice straight stretching line but no unintended marks on the skin," concludes Kristian Krog. "WRAP Maxi Stretch is quieter and easy to operate, you have full control of the entire process and the machine even allows an extra stretch, if a few millimeters are missing to the next size," adds his wife, Caroline Krog, who has worked with the machine throughout the pelting season. "The machine can be easily adjusted to the type of skin that is to be stretched and there have been no errors along the way. We have been stretching about 1.600 skins per day, which took an hour longer in comparison to the previous machine. On the other hand, we haven’t had to repeat the stretching of any skins and we have also saved about 1 1/2 hours of the "final touch" work phase every day, so all in all work has become more effective," says Kristian Krog. "The quality is more consistent and the skins maintain their size after drying - unlike last year, when we had some of the skins shrink, which can be measured directly in dollars and cents and is a nuisance that we no longer experience." "We attended a training course before our WRAP Maxi Stretch was delivered. I think that it was an incredibly good experience. During the course we got to try out all the different options and test them on different types of skins. Therefore, I felt that I knew the machine very well already on the very day when it was delivered and I could get right to work," says Caroline Krog, who also praises the machine’s display for being very user-friendly and manageable. "I feel that I have full control of all work performed using the
machine and am really happy with the great result that the machine has provided," says Caroline Krog. The company also got an automatic Skin Remover that is able to remove 4 skins at a time and has been able to remove a total of 200 skins off the boards in just 15 minutes, thus having taken over a particularly annoying piece of manual work that is strenuous for one’s shoulders and arms. "Not having to do that any more is great," says Kristian Krog. There was a minor issue concerning the machine’s settings in the beginning, as the Skin Remover would grab the female skins using a little too much pressure, but once the pressure was adjusted a bit, everything went smoothly. "There is no doubt that it helps you save labor in comparison to manual work. It’s been really easy to start using the Skin Remover and it fits well into our work dynamics. And it actually takes up somewhat less space than we originally assumed it would. It fits nicely into a corner in our pelting facility, where there is just enough room for the trolley with boards to turn around. Then we have an employee who regularly comes over and moves the 50-60 mink skins that the machine has put into the basket and puts them on a table, where they are sorted," says Kristian Krog. "We had the Skin Remover delivered a couple of days into the pelting season and soon after it was already in use. We have had to call a few times and ask how we should do things, but it worked out fine this way. Now that we really know the machine, nothing has been causing problems, so we are very satisfied with the automatic Skin Remover. We look forward to the next season, where the machine can help us from the very beginning," says Kristian Krog. Kristian Krog also bought a new Body Drum, which is located outside, under a pent roof. "It's incredibly easy to use. There is a large touch screen with icons that cannot be mistaken. You just need to press a single button and it all runs smoothly. We load between 100 and 130 minks at a time through a loading hopper and when they are finished, they are transported out on a conveyor belt. We don’t have to deal with covers and inconvenient working heights. Once again we have been freed from having to perform manual tasks that take time and are a strain on the body." "The new Body Drum generates less noise and pretty much no dust, so it's a really good bargain," said Kristian Krog.

The New SnapMax Skin Remover – effective and useful The Jasopels team has developed the effective Jasopels SnapMax Skin Remover that loosens skins individually from Maxi and Fix-2 stretchers. During the development period a prototype was installed at a pelting facility by Holstebro run by mink breeders Jens and Kristen Meldgård. The two brothers have tested the SnapMax Skin Remover thoroughly throughout the development period. Journalist Thorkild Høj
"It's an incredibly efficient machine. It loosens the skin with a powerful tug. It is easy to use and here at our facility it has been a huge relief, as we used to loosen all skins manually before," says Kristen Meldgård. The Jasopels SnapMax Skin Remover is designed to take over the strenuous task of loosening stretched skins from Maxi and Fix-2 stretchers. The machine is equipped with a powerful electric motor and the jaw itself has a sensor which "looks for" objects when it is in the correct position for grabbing and loosening the skin. "It's really helpful. We have been pulling the skins manually so far, but it is hard work and it has become even more difficult when there is a wrap on the stretcher," says Kristen Meldgård. "This pelting season is the first full season at our facility with the fully developed SnapMax Skin Remover and it's been a great relief from an onerous task. Therefore, one can easily say that it has let us use our energy to tackle other tasks, which also need to be taken care of," says Kristen Meldgård.

"I usually take two rows at a time, towards the middle, and then I turn the trolley - it takes about seven minutes to loosen a trolley with 200 boards on it. You just put the jaw over by the stretcher and then the jaw "looks for" for the stretcher, grabs it and pulls the skin off. It's smart and very easy to use," says Kristen Meldgård. The jaw is controlled manually and the machine follows the direction in which you move the steel wire that connects the grabbing jaw with the electric motor. This way you can reach the boards that are in middle of the trolley and avoid an inconvenient working posture at the same time. "The machine was modified while it was here and it now works well and is efficient. We are really happy with it. We've got the MAXI board system and it is very effective to be able to pull the skins off in the drying room. The SnapMax Skin Remover doesn’t take up so much space and we don’t have enough space for an automatic skin loosener. This is why it is the perfect solution for us," says Kristen Meldgård. In Jens and Christian Meldgård’s facility the skins get a "temperature shock" before getting pulled off. This is done by getting the MAXI trolleys moved from a 22-degree heat in the drying room into a cold room with a temperature of 12 degrees. Via the MAXI system the skins are moistened from the inside with crystallized water vapor. This gives an optimal skin that can easily be loosened from the stretcher.

Question:
What to expect, if you´re mixing compressed air and water? Answer:
Problems! Everybody is aware of the importance of having sufficient air supply in the pelting house, since one of the most annoying things is stop in the line as a result of decompression! However another annoying issue appear, when you´re having stop due to water in valves or engines. The first problem is solved just by waiting a short time – while the other problem may take several hours and be very expensive..... If you consider changing you´re existing compressor, Jasopels recommend that you buy a screw compressor for more reasons. First of all – the capacity is larger, than piston com-

pressors. They are more silent, which improves the working enviroment and last but not least – they all have freeze dryers installed. This means that condensed water that normally is generated in the tubes and hoses is removed from the compressed air. If you´re having a newer piston compressor, you should at least consider to instal the freeze dryer. This might turn out to be the cheapest insurance you can have, in order to prevent stops and large bills.

Terms and conditions
TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Unless any other written agreement is made, the following sales and delivery terms conditions are effective for all arrangements and deliveries from Jasopels Ltd.
Delivery and Supplies:
Supplies are ex-factory unless other specific arrangements are agreed upon.
Delays:
The agreement can be cancelled and refusal of compensations from Jasopels Ltd. Delays from our sub-constructors cannot be hold responsible for compensation and therefore can Jasopels Ltd. refuse compensation regarding delays. Jasopels Ltd. is not responsible in any case regarding operating losses, time loss, profit loss or other indirect loss, and customers day fines.
Payments:
The buyer must pay the amount that is written on the invoice and obligations and other arranged payment conditions. If payments are not met on the date the payments are requested, the supplier has the right to add interest to the amount from the date the invoice is due for payment - the interest is 2% at the beginning of the month together with a reminder letter.
Ownership:
The ownership of the goods is Jasopels ltd. Customer ownership is only legal when goods are paid for in full and the amount received.
Venue & Laws:
Any disputes between partners will be decided at the ordinary courts and the use of Danish law and courts. As a rule, the court in Varde Denmark where decisions will be made.
Responsibility for deficiency:
Jasopels Ltd is bound to help in cases of delivered goods and parts where there is fault in materials and ore production mistakes. The buyer has the right to complain as in the conditions stated below.
Complaints and examination of the goods:
The buyer must, as soon as the goods are delivered and received, make sure that the goods are in good order and condition and the number of articles ordered are of the correct number and that the contract is complete upon delivery. The customer is obligated without delays and no later than 8 days after receipt of goods to give notice of shortages that may have occurred. The buyer cannot later on plead shortages after the 8 days on delivery of goods. Complaints and shortages must be send to Jasopels Ltd. by letter immediately. Complaints and shortages must always occure not later than 6 month after deliveries. Later the buyer will loose the rights to the objection. The return of defective goods can only be returned by arrangement with the supplier. The returned goods transport is paid by the customer and at the customer risk. Unless there is an alternative written arrangement.

Jasopels Ltd. is not responsible alone for the damage caused or delivery services as long as it is proven.
