Fenwick Island Taking 1st place is Fenwick Island! The community transformed into “Camp Elderberry.” With an exciting and detailed schedule of themed events throughout the week for “campers,” Fenwick did not disappoint. Camp style menus, county fair with carnival games, volleyball tournament, pie eating contests, classic hot rods, golf cart tours, outdoor movie night, animals (of course there were horses), dancing and more. And time for fundraising! Managers took turns in the dunk tank to raise money for a local homeless shelter. The week away at camp was full and fun! Cheers to you!

Spotlighting Our BrandyStars Kenneth Banks

CONCIERGE - BRANDYWINE LIVING AT ALEXANDRIA

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB? Just being the first point of contact and setting the pace when someone comes into the building. Customer service is an art. You can’t do the same thing for everyone and expect the same result. You go at it every day, try every day, and possibly change a life every day. And I like how different it is every day. I mean who wants a boring work environment! CAN YOU SHARE AN EXAMPLE? One resident here has long ties to the Alexandria local community. She worked for the school board as a teacher and then in the HR department for almost 40 years. I’ll do little things for her. If there is an extra paper, I will bring it to her. She is always grateful and thanks me, but I say, “This is nothing. I owe you. ”After all the work she has done with different organizations in this community, I was giving back to her for what she’s accomplished. TELL ME ABOUT HOW YOU FOUND BRANDYWINE AND WHY THE CONCIERGE ROLE? I had worked in sales for an apartment complex and other communities and always liked the title position of concierge. We could see the building from our house and watched the community being developed. I applied and started with Brandywine shortly after Alexandria opened (about 4 years ago). I was there before the first resident moved in! WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEW TEAM MEMBER AT BRANDYWINE? What you learn here and from them (residents) you can take with you wherever you go.

Alexandria’s Concierge & BrandyStar, Kenneth Banks, at his surprise BrandyStar reveal

We have very unique clientele who come here. You can learn so much from them. They have traveled the world and have done things for their communities. They are very interesting. It’s the residents who make the community.

Letters From Dear Ms Kressler,

My name is Cynthia and I am a resident of Brandywine Little Neck for 10 years. I would like to let you know what a wonderful job Donna is doing as an Escapades Producer. She is kind, compassionate, and provides us with activities that enrich our minds and bodies. We have fun with musical programs and films in the movie theater. Again thanks for a beautiful Brandywine department of fun, festivity, fitness and joy! Warmly, Cynthia

Dear Rachel,

The Savoy’s Escpades Producer, Donna Lapidus, (left) and Cynthia (right)

There are no words that can describe the depth of my appreciation for the friendship you developed with my mom. From the moment she arrived at Dresher, you took her under your wing and made it a priority to help her adjust to her new life and become a part of the Reflections family. I attribute her ability to thrive at Dresher to all of your efforts to get and keep her involved in the activities you offered. She loved you and both she and we considered you part of our family. Your enthusiasm and dedication to creating full lives for the residents of Reflections are irreplaceable and something I will be forever grateful for. Thank you for making a huge difference in my mom’s life and that of our family’s as well. With deep gratitude, Lara
