Department of Commerce ISDC - MOU signing
The Department of Commerce is introducing a new course B.Com (Honours) – ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountant). In this regard, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy
College of Science (SLCS) and International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC), Bengaluru on 20-032019. The President of SLCS Dr.R.Lakshmipathy and the Regional Manager – ISDC, Mr.Daya signed the MoU at 3.30p.m.
CA Foundation Course Inauguration
The Department of Commerce of SLCS, organised a special training programme for the students of B.Com (Hons.),(2018 -2021 batch) between 15.04.2019 and 31.05.2019. The inaugural function was conducted on the 15th of April at 9.30a.m. Mrs.V.Padmavathy, HoD, Welcomed the gathering. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy,
Principal, SLCS and Dr.R.Srinivasan, Former Principal, SLCS addressed the students. Dr.S.Gurupriya, Assistant Professor delivered the Vote of Thanks. Ms.B.Shanmuga Priya and Mr.R.Damodharan successfully coordinated the function.
Career Guidance Programme for 12th Students

A Career guidance programme was organized by the Department of Commerce, S u b b a l a k s h m i Lakshmipathy College of Science, on 10.04.2019, at the AV Room, of RLINS. Seventy students along with their parents participated in the programme. The Welcome address was given by
Mrs.V.Padmavathy, HoD and the Presidential address was given by D r. B . R a m a m o o r t h y, Principal, SLCS. The Chief Guest CA.A.K.Srinivasan, gave in-depth knowledge about the Chartered Accountant Course and how the B.Com (Honours)-CA and B.Com(Honours)ACCA Course curriculam of SLCS
help in accomplishing their goal. He also explained how this course would help their career in the future. Mr.Ramasamy Perumal, Regional Manager, ISDC and Mr.Saravanakumar, Regional Head, ACCA, advised the students to take up value added courses that will help them in getting better opportunities in future. They also stated that studying commerce provides scope to work
in various fields. During the question session parents raised many queries regarding the C.A and ACCA Courses which were clarified by the Resource Persons, They were elated about the programme as it helped them in deciding their ward’s future. The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr.S.Gurupriya, Asst.Prof. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
Department of Computer Science (Security System Specialization)
Workshop on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking The Department of Computer Science (Security System Specialization) conducted a workshop on “Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking” for +2 students in the College premises on 11th, April, 2019. The Chief Guest was Mr.M.Nambi Krishnan, Training Operations Lead, HCL Technologies, Madurai. The program started with the Prayer Song. Mrs.K.P.Maheswari, Assistant Professor welcomed the gathering. Prof.N.Anuradha, Head of the Department delivered the felicitation address. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal, SLCS delivered the presidential address and Dr.R.L.Ramnath, IQAC Advisor delivered the special address.The Chief Guest, Mr.M.Nambi Krishnan through his lively and interactive session created awareness on “Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking”. He also delivered an intellectual speech about the requirements of software industries, the skills to be developed to get a job and opportunities in the software field. Mr.T.Vigneshwaran, Ms.G.Divya Bharathi & Ms.K.K. Rajashree of III B.Sc CS jointly presented a presentation on the importance of Computer Learning and Cyber Security. They explained
the basics of ethical hacking and how data are stolen by demonstrating through Mobile Applications.At the end of the workshop every participant was awarded a Certificate of Participation. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mrs.S.Nirmala Devi, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science.
Department of Networking Guest Lecture on Big Data
M r . S a s i k u m a r , Senior Software Developer and Mr.Thangapandian, Business Manager, SSI institution explained “BIG Mr.Sasikumar giving an elaborative DATA” concepts to speech on BIG DATA Code Development the first and second year students of B.Sc Networking.

Placement Drive On behalf of Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science, The Department of Networking organized a placement drive on 19.11.18 for III B.Sc Networking students in the Internet Lab. Metro Labs, Hyderabad and Elint Sys, Salem conducted online tests for the students. The online examination pattern consisted of general aptitude, language aptitude and technical aptitude. The students attended the online test under the supervision of Mr.V.Lakshmikanthan, MD, Falcon Systems.

Value Added Course – MTA Python Department of Networking organized a Value Added Course on “MTA- Python” for II B.Sc Networking student from 28/11/2018 to 01/12/2018. The training was handled by Mr.B.Nagkumar Managing Director, MetroLabs, Hyderabad. He handled Python Training practically and theoretically.

Workshop on CLOUD COMPUTING On 22nd April 2019, The Department of Networking organized a Workshop on “Cloud Computing” for +2 students. The Principal, Dr.B.Ramamoorthy inaugurated the workshop with his wonderful speech. Mr.M.Athigopal, HoD, Department of Networking gave an orientation about the workshop. The students were trained in Assembling & De-Assembling of PC & they also participated in a Contest. Mr.M.Avinash Kannan, Senior Process Associate, TCS, Chennai explained the job opportunities available in Networking and Mr.B.Nijanthan, CEO, SN IT Solutions, Madurai, gave a hands-on training on Laptop Troubleshooting.

Department of Animation Oviyam & Animation Workshop-2019
A career guidance program, “Oviyam & the DINAMALAR as a media partner. The objective Animation Workshop, 2019” was organized for +2 of the program was to orient the students about students by the Department of Animation, SLCS, with Animation, Drawing and Sculpting concepts and to 4
make them realize their importance in Industries. The Program was presided over by Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal, SLCS, who was felicitated by Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, HoD, Department of Animation. It was a two day program (12th & 13th April 2019) which involved the active participation of students in creating drawings and paintings as performed by the guest artists, namely, Mr.Manoharan, M.F.A., Eminent Artist, Chennai and Mr.Vijayakanth, Mattepainting Artist, Bangalore. Students used the Animation Lab facilities to create their own animation movies as directed and coordinated by Mr.M.Purushothaman, Instructor, in 3D Animation techniques who also gave a demo on VFX techniques (Green matte shots) to the students and parents. Mr.V.Chenthil Kumar, Instructor, explained 2D Animation concepts. Mr.P.Thirunavukkarasu, Animation-HoD spoke on the growth aspects of the Animation Industry and also proposed the Vote of Thanks. Participation Certificates were distributed to all the students. The students and parents who participated gave a positive feedback about the program. They said that the program was interesting and beneficial in bringing out their creative skills.

Department of Viscom Manava Iyakkunar The Department of Visual Communication conducted a one day workshop on ‘Film Making’ (Manava Iyakkunar) on the 6th of April 2019, Mr. B. Lenin, a renowned film editor with many state and 5 National awards was the Chief Guest. Some of his prominent works include Kurudhippunal, Indian , Kadhalan, Anjali etc. He has worked in more than 700 movies. It was a great honor for the Department of Visual communication to have such an eminent guest. Students who completed their 12th standard in and around Madurai attended the workshop. The first session was handled by Mr. B. Lenin , who screened a scene and explained the proper editing techniques and the frequent mistakes made in editing. He also explained the importance and scope of Visual Communication. The second session was handled by the Department’s former students Mr.Vetrivel, Reporter (News18 Tamil nadu) and Ms. Shanmughapriya, Reporter (News7 Tamil) who taught the students about the basics of Journalism and narrated the practical realities faced by a journalist. The workshop was very useful and enlightening for the students.

Department of Food Science and Processing Management Workshop on Food Processing Management The Department of Food Science and Processing Management, Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science organized a one day workshop on Food Processing Management on 9th April 2019 for +2 students. Dr. S. Priya, Asst. Prof., Department of English, delivered the Welcome address. Dr.B.Ramamoorthy, Principal, SLCS delivered the Presidential address and Dr.R.L.Ramanath, NAAC Advisor, SLCS felicitated the gathering. Dr.P.Gurumoorthi, AGM, Aachi Groups, Chennai and Mrs.P.Shumitha, Proprietor, Food Buddies, Chennai acquainted the students with the Scope of Food Science and the Importance of Food processing and Food industries. Dr.K.Amrutha Veena, Head and Ms.D.Subhashree, Asst. Prof. Department of Food Science and Processing Management had organized this event along with the students of the department. Ms.C.Sasi Prabha, student of the Department proposed the Vote of Thanks.
Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management Workshop on Joy of International Cuisine The department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized a workshop “Joy of International Cuisine 2019� on 27.4.2019 to create awareness about the Marine Catering Course to many +2 students who participated in this program. Mr.Mohammed Sheriff, General Manager, GRT Regency Hotel, Madurai, the Chief Guest spoke to the students.
Campus Interview The Department of Marine Catering and Hotel Management organized a campus placement drive on 08th April and 09th April 2019. Mr. Sandip Chothe, HR Manager conducted the interview which was, followed by written examination and food trial.
