T2B: Press Send

TOP TO BOTTOM: Season 2

Can you feel it?

As I write this, the first snowfall has dusted the high peaks all across western North America, the Rock Pile in New Hampshire has already seen its first snow, and skiers all over the Northern Hemisphere are starting to get the itch. But what is it about this silly sport that keeps sucking us back in, year after year?

Maybe its a lust for adventure, or an unquenchable thirst for the weightless freedom found only between two turns - Both noble pursuits. But more than anything, it’s just plain F’n fun.

That’s what Press Send is all about. Go skiing whenever you can. Go with your friends, go by yourself, just go. Take yourself a little less seriously, but get as rad as you can out there. It’s just skiing. It’s not serious, but it is seriously fun. Press Send.

Another season means another round of T2Bs. Not just our monthly commitment to telling the stories of the people, places and products behind Blizzard Tecnica, but a brand philosophy. Top to Bottom: A no shortcuts, relentless pursuit of fun. Thanks for being along for the ride.

Cheers, The Blizzard Tecnica Family

PRESS SEND The Movie

We cut a group of true professionals loose in Tahoe last spring to get to work on something VERY serious. They drank no margaritas and had zero fun. Click below to see what they got done.

Trust us, you don’t want to miss it.

BUILT FOR PARTY LAPS

Sure, the redesigned Rustler was built with the world’s best freeride athletes top of mind, able to confidently boost 40-footers and pin it down spicy couloirs. But more importantly, they were also made for those of us who don’t get paid to ski - The ones who camp out in the lift line and ride packed tram cars, all so that you can dive into that wind-buffed bowl hooting and hollering, fist-bump your buddies at the bottom and load up for another go. Rustler is the party lap ski. Because the best moments in skiing are the intangible ones, shared with a frothing crew of shredders who are all out there chasing the same feelings. So grab a pair, call your crew, and PRESS SEND.

FIND YOUR PACK.

She Wolves lead the pack, moving quietly between the lines. They’re fierce, confident, independent, and quite simply - badass. But She Wolves are stronger in a pack, and you know a wolf pack when you see one. They’re the ones having the most fun, tearing up the mountain with a “go ahead and watch me do it” attitude, leaving behind only fresh tracks, breathless belly laughs, and inspiration for other women to join. We’ve completely redesigned the Sheeva with these ladies in mind, engineered specifically to the wants and needs of the She Wolves: Confidence, control, power, and above all, fun. So get out there, find your pack, and Press Send.

JAQ POLLARD

Alta-based freeride skier Jaq Pollard would tell you herself that she was shy as a kid. That she struggled with a learning disability. That she didn’t have a whole lot of confidence.

This is the story of how skiing, and competing in Freeride skiing, helped her grow into the person she is today - a college graduate with a degree in Biology as well as a successful competitor on the Freeride World Tour.

This is a story of how skiing can shape ones life.

JAQ POLLARD PROFILE

WHAT THE FLUX?

As skiers, we feel most alive in moments of transition. It’s that fleeting sensation of weightlessness between turns, or coming up for air between face shots. Just like you, FluxForm comes alive on the line between control and chaos. At the heart of the new Rustler and Sheeva, FluxForm makes these skis stout and stable under foot, yet soft and playful in the tip and tail. FluxForm was born to color outside the lines and lives to Press Send.

WHAT’S IN THOSE THINGS, ANYWAY?

Ever wonder what’s in the secret sauce that goes into the new Rustler and Sheeva? Yeah, us too. Thanks to this TOP SECRET, never-before-seen footage with leaked audio between self-proclaimed ski designer Marcus Caston and actual Blizzard skis engineer Stefan Moser, we’ve finally been given a glimpse behind the curtain of Mittersill Magic.

Click below to be let in on the secret.

Trueblend Freeride

Completely redesigned, the all-new Rustler and Sheeva are powered by our Freeride Trueblend Woodcores, blending three different densities of wood to provide freeriders with the playfulness they want combined with the power they demand.

Freeride Trueblend Woodcores use stringers of Beech concentrated underfoot for added strength where you want it. The juxtaposed stringers of Poplar and Paulownia keep the swing weight down and allow for a smooth, balanced flex from tip to tail.

FluxForm

Stout and stable, yet soft and playful. An oxymoron? Maybe, but that’s exactly what FluxForm is designed to be. Two pieces of titanal run the length of the ski on either edge, tapering towards the tip, but not connecting at either end. Combined with a third piece of titanal underfoot, FluxForm provides unparalleled edge grip and dampening in the mid-section of the ski, while remaining torsionally soft in the tip and tail.

Just as in previous versions of the Rustler series, FluxFrom changes by model, meaning the firmer-snow-oriented Rustler 9 features more metal than the softer-snow-oriented Rustler 10 and 11.

FluxForm W.S.D.

FluxFrom W.S.D. in the all-new Sheeva series is designed to provide the power and performance demanded by the world’s hardest charging ladies, yet remain intuitive and accessible for intermediate skiers. Two pieces of titanal that run the length of the ski are designed to keep it super stable throughout, and a women’sspecific shock absorption platform underfoot provides for additional strength where you need it. As in the Rustler series, FluxFrom is specifically designed by model.
