BLENHEIM PARK DEVELOPMENTS OFFICE A conversion of two shipping containers into an open plan office space for the Blenheim Park Developments team. The entrance lobby was designed to create a striking first impression with feature living walls and inside is an open plan office with work spaces, a board room meeting table and a kitchen. An alcove of the office was utilised to provide storage and accommodate a WC.

BLENHEIM PARK ESTATES OFFICE The concept was to create a working environment, which would be conducive to open communication with all areas designed to interconnect with the use of glazed partition walls and doors to create zoned areas. The design meets all the prerequisites for an open and accepting working culture that gives clients and employees the feeling of a home away from home.

MARRON HOUSE A three bedroom detached split-level, contemporary property with glass internal doors and staircase and landscaped gardens with raised seating areas and a green living wall. The master suite includes individually styled ‘his and hers’ dressing rooms, copper slipper bath and chandeliers adorn the family bathroom.

YEWS FARM A conversion of a derelict cowshed, set in five acres, into a stunning detached property overlooking surrounding farmland with landscaped gardens and grounds. A sublime mix of traditional building techniques and contemporary materials were used to create a four bedroomed, three bathroomed family home with large open plan living spaces and modern internal fixtures and fittings.

TREETOP MANOR A development of a traditional Manor House and detached Lodge House to create two exceptional family homes for three generations.

CHURCH LANE A tired bungalow transformed into a contemporary forever home. An extension to the rear was constructed to accommodate a contemporary open plan living kitchen. Substantial refurbishment works to the interior and exterior were also completed, as well as extensive landscaping works.

You may have found the perfect plot and you’re looking to build from the ground up, or perhaps you’ve fallen in love with a home’s exterior but think the interior needs some TLC. Blenheim can transform homes from traditional to contemporary, and fully reconfigure a home for you and your lifestyle, and that’s exactly what they did for Michael Harrison and Jayne Thornes.

Having spent years living in a large house in Hathersage, the couple decided that they wanted to downsize and move back to Sheffield.

Impressed by the quality of work that they’d seen from Blenheim across the area, Michael and Jayne put all of their trust in Paul Blackburn and his team, selling their house with Blenheim Park Estates and using Blenheim Park Developments to find their perfect new address and construct their ideal new home.

“Paul and his team were looking for a house that we could modernise. This was an old Victorian place, which was dated. It didn’t quite have the size but the plot was lovely and square, it’s in a great location and we could create what we wanted with it ” Michael tells us.

“When we first got the house we sat down with Paul and discussed what we wanted from it, and everything evolved as we went along. He pays great attention to detail, he’s fantastic with that.

You can put your trust in him and he’s going to do a great job,’ says Jayne.

“We bought the basic house and then it was gutted completely back to the stonework. Our old house was ancient, 500 years old.This house has all underfloor heating, computer wiring, all of the latest technologies, sound systems, it’s the complete opposite, there’s no work involved in living in this house,” Michael goes on to say.

“Not only are Blenheim involved throughout the process, but they ensure you’ve one single point of contact from conception to completion, and they consistently bring fresh ideas and advice to the table, taking genuine care and pride in all that they do”.

“If you look at this house, look at the lampshades and the architraves – normal builders wouldn’t do that. Normally, you’d get a builder and he’d just do what you tell him to do, and if you don’t know what you want, you’ll get a square room, a plug socket in each doorway and that’s it. Whereas these guys, they’re looking at the whole vision.”

“You can call Paul any day, any time, and he’ll pick up the phone,” says Glenn. “He’s calm.

Everything could fall down around him and he’d be calm.”

One of the main ways Blenheim have helped make Glenn and Anita’s dream home a reality is in the design and placement of their bar.

In their previous home, their bar was isolated from the main house, which meant it wasn’t used as much as it could have been. A large room, it also felt like it needed a lot more people to fill it. Now, their bar is specifically situated to be closer to the main living areas making it more accessible and therefore catering for entertaining as well as for socialising. While still a decent size, the room has a much cosier feel and gets a lot more use than their old bar ever did.

Now that they’ve been living in their home, for two and a half years, it seems Glenn and Anita couldn’t be any happier that they chose to work with Blenheim. They tell us that choosing Blenheim is choosing quality. Nobody pays closer attention to detail or invests as much time and passion into a project as Paul and his team, and they wouldn’t want it any other way.

aving spent years searching for the perfect plot of land on which to build themselves their forever home, Glenn and Anita Day’s hunt was over after one call from Blenheim’s Managing Director Paul Blackburn.

Glenn and Anita initially met Paul when they popped in to take a quick look around another house Blenheim were building, and “Paul being Paul”, he gave up his time to show the two around the house.

“There was no question that the quality of the build was far superior to any we’d ever seen,” says Glenn, and this is why when Paul called them to tell them that he had found the perfect plot of land, the couple instantly trusted him with their project.

With plenty of experience refurbishing and building homes, Glenn and Anita looked to the Blenheim team for help when it came to the

architectural and project management side of things.

When you take on a home-build or refurbishment yourself, “its like a job,” says Anita. “Everything is up to you, you’re in control of time, and you’re in control of what gets done when.”

“When you work with Blenheim, its their team that takes control of the timing and planning, meaning you can use your extra time to focus on things like interior design and the finishes within the home (though Paul loves getting involved with this side too).”

t’s difficult to imagine approaching the home of Kevin and Judy Brown in anything but awe. The couple’s Dore home, with its sleek lines and contemporary materials, would stand out among the more traditional homes that neighbour it, if it wasn’t so well disguised by its surroundings.

Quality First WHEN IT CAME TO BUILDING THEIR DREAM HOME IN DORE, KEVIN AND JUDY BROWN FOUND THE PERFECT PARTNER IN BLENHEIM PARK DEVELOPMENTS.

Unless invited to visit, you’d never know the house was there. Tucked away far back from the street, and shrouded in greenery, the home’s private location and sound structure make you feel like you’ve jetted off to the Med rather than having just nipped down to the south of Sheffield.

After an 18-month build, Kevin and Judy’s village home was completed around five and a half years ago, but from the look of the house you’d just as well believe that they moved in only yesterday, and this is one of the reasons the couple chose Blenheim Park Developments to help them build their dream home.

“We went and visited other Blenheim projects, their Totley Brook Road houses were being built at the time and we could see the quality work they were doing.”

“We could tell instantly that for Paul it was about more than just turning up and building,” says Judy. “You can put your personal trust in him, you can tell straight away that he’s a professional.”

Blenheim’s managing director Paul Blackburn was thoroughly involved with the process from the start, joining Kevin, Judy and the team for site meetings, always bursting with enthusiasm and fresh, exciting ideas on how to perfect the house.

“We had a lot of our own ideas too, it was a real collaboration and we always felt listened to,” says Kevin. One of the main things Kevin and Judy wanted to focus on when creating their dream home was the utilisation of space.

Though their previous home was of a similar size, the couple felt that there were areas that

were scarcely, if ever used.

When building their new home,everything was designed to their exact specifications, with operations director Tony Meadows being an incredible help to the couple throughout the process, ensuring things turned out exactly as planned.

Kevin and Judy had their hearts set on moving into their property in time for Christmas, but with British weather being what it is, and Paul being the perfectionist he is, he asked the couple; “do you want to move in, or do you want it to be right”?

It’s now their master bedroom which takes up 50 per cent of the upstairs space, as it’s them spending the majority of the time at home, but they’ve ensured that there’s still plenty of space for when the kids and grandkids come to stay.

Things like a drop in temperature or a rainy day meant that building was halted throughout the process so as not to affect the quality of the build going forward, something that Kevin and Judy look back on now and are extremely grateful of, especially since they managed to get in before December 25th after all.

Though they wouldn’t fault Blenheim, Kevin reminded us that no self-build will ever run entirely without a hiccup or two. “You will have issues,” says Kevin. “We had issues, but Blenheim didn’t leave them for us to sort out, we worked together.”

“If you want the quality, you have to be prepared for things to take a little longer.

Building a house can be stressful, but because of Blenheim, we fully enjoyed the whole project, to the extent that Judy would do it all over again!”
