“Staying in Touch”

Welcome back! It has been several years since our last printed newsletter. Some of our long time clients know that we enjoyed keeping you informed about what was going on at the studio, sharing stories, showcasing a few of our favorite portraits, recipes and just staying in touch. Life sometimes throws curves at you; I lost my newsletter editor and I have struggled to find someone to fill her shoes.

Recently I found someone who shares a lot of the same values and the drive to deliver excellence, so I hired her. You will get to meet the wonderful Carla Calitz when you come into the studio. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and has a strong interest in marketing and design. Carla is taking over responsibility for the newsletter and many other things, allowing me to focus on improving customer service, adding new styles of portraiture, and giving me more time to be creative!

We are excited to be publishing the newsletter again. In talking with many of our clients we heard the same thing, bring back the newsletter. With this encouragement it made it easy to decide that it is worth the time and effort. One feature we are adding to the new version is in every issue we will highlight a client’s local business.

Portraits of a MileStone

There is no question that the senior year is a milestone in your teenager’s life. The magical years of childhood are rapidly dwindling as they approach adulthood. This season of your senior’s life is an opportune time to take senior portraits that will capture who they are, their essence and the person they have matured to be.

At Cansler Photography we specialize in fully tailored senior sessions that are altered to fit everyone’s individuality. We pride ourselves in telling each senior’s story, bringing out their uniqueness and creating an exclusive and distinct portrait. Our aim is to give your senior and your family beautiful portraits they will love.

A variety of sessions are available, everything from a basic session to a more extensive service that offers it all. Our favorite and the most popular among clients is the “Ultimate Session”. Clients love this session because it allows us the extra time to create a more diverse and imaginative collection of images. Our focus is on capturing your senior’s personality. This begins with a consultation before the session to talk about personal style, interests, hobbies, favorite things and how to best capture these photographically. It is a chance for you to tell us your ideas; we love new challenges. This consultation helps with pre-planning on what settings will be best. Choose from an assortment of backgrounds, indoor and outdoor studio settings, and on-location sites.

The on-location sites are the best part of the Ultimate Session because we really get to dive into what each senior loves and enjoys. For example, if your senior loves to horseback ride we can go to the stable for gorgeous photographs of them riding on their horse. If he loves the outdoors we will go to his favorite place to capture his adventurous side. If she is an avid golfer, we will make her look striking on the putting green.

No cookie cutter photographs for your senior! We find out what is important to both you and your senior; only by doing this can you be guaranteed to get something valuable to you. Your senior will look amazing because we make sure to flatter them by proper positioning, helping them feel comfortable and relaxed and using light to sculpt them to create depth and dimension to show their best look.

The girls love our wonderful hair and makeup stylist. She is available upon request to enhance your senior’s look. You deserve the best so there is no scrimping on quality.

Sydney’s Perspective

Photographs have always been a huge deal in my life – imagine that. Growing up, I thought it was perfectly normal to have a camera at 3 years old. So I’ve been around photographs, taken photographs or been photographed my whole life – literally. In spite of all the times I’ve been impatient when my dad says, “just one more”, I’ve always loved photographs of my family, especially ones of me and my mom.

I think my mom is pretty amazing, even though I don’t tell her that very often. She takes care of me, is always there when I need her, does stuff for me all the time, and is a fabulous cook. Considering she has to put up with her two children, my dad and me, you know she must be amazing.

My dad has always been able to capture relationships, whether it’s between a mother and child or brother and sister. I like having pictures of us all through the house because it shows our family. I know that when I’m older and looking back on my life, I’ll appreciate even more having the beautiful pictures of us together. I will always be grateful to my dad for giving me the chance to have photographs of my mom and me. I’m so glad that he chose the career path of being a photographer.
