MEN’S CHRISTIAN GOLF LEAGUE 2014 VOLUME 16 ISSUE 18 September 11, 2014

BRIAN & DOMINIC GET HAMMERED IN WEEK 18 BUT CONTINUES TO MAINTAIN A (46) POINT LEAD AND CAN SHUT OUT TWO TEAMS TIED FOR SECOND WITH (7) POINTS IN THE FINAL WEEK! Team #A8: Doug Busam & Nate Hood: Doug started out bad posting (22) extra shots through the first (6) holes. He nailed pars on 16 & 17 and then finished with a double on 18. Doug comes in with a disappointing (59) posting (2) pars. Nate fared better, coming in with a 45. After an opening triple, Nate played bogey golf for the next 4 holes. He finished with a double bogey on 15, parred 16 & 18 and bogeyed #17.

Team #A3: Wayne Davidson & Rusty Ellison: This team has made the most improvement over all the other teams as both are now posting upper 30’s to lower ‘40’s rounds the last several weeks. In fact, Wayne comes in with his 2nd 39 round

Nate finished with (2) pars. Nice try by both players.

Team #A9: Brent Cymbalski & Ken Cymbalski: Brent comes in with his second 38 in a row. Brent nailed pars on 4 holes, posted a birdie on the 18th and filled in the rest of the holes with bogeys.

Brent notched (4) pars and (1) birdie. Father Ken, still struggling to get it below 50, comes in with a 54. The opening quad started his round out bad and he could not seem to recover much from it. Ken did nail back to back pars on 15 & 16.

Nice effort Ken and good shooting Brent. in a row. Wayne notched (6) pars to go with 2 bogeys and a double. Rusty also continues to put bring in nice rounds, coming in with a 44 this week.

Rusty only found (1) par, but made a very nice birdie on the 13th hole as he stuck it close on his approach

Team #A1: Stan Dreslinski & Ray Ressler: Stan continues to struggle to get h is rounds down where they belong. Stan was in the hole right from the opening two holes, posting back to back triples in his round of 47. After a par on #12 and bogey on 13, Stan got his third triple on #14. Stan did find a couple of pars, holes #16 & #17 before finishing with a double.

Ray started with a double on 1, added another double on 13 and a final double on 17. He made pars on 12, 15. 16 & 18 to post (4) in his round of 43. Good try by Stan and decent shooting by Ray.

Team #A2: Andre Viger & Ken Huyghe: Andre & Ken have climbed back up the ladder into a tie for 2nd place with Wayne and Rusty. Andre shot lights out last week coming in with the second best round of the night, a 2 over 37. Andre posted pars on 7 holes with bogeys on #12 & #14.

Partner Ken also played well, posting a very nice 41. Ken posted doubles on holes #10, 14 & 17.

He notched (5) pars without any bogeys on the card. Nice shooting by both players.

Team #A4: Brian DeRita & Dominic DeRita: Brian had a decent round, but could not take many points against an opponent that shot 4 strokes better than he did. Brian comes in with a 41 for a decent round.

Brian had two bad holes that cost him 5 strokes and probably the win in the match. Brian posted (4) pars and (1) birdie.

Dominic just could not get anything going and comes in with a 46 in last weeks disappointing round. Dom posted (4) doubles that took his round down fast costing him 8 extra strokes. He notched pars on holes MYSTERY WINNER 09/04/14 RON CORFIELD WON HIS SCORE WAS A 57

#11 & #12, finishing with (2). Good try to Dom and nice shooting by Brian.

Team #A5: Pat Nellis & Cory Routheaux: Pat comes in with the best round of the night, posting a 1 under par 34. Pat nailed (2) birdies. One on #11 and the other on #18. He made pars on 6 other holes, with his only blemish on #13, posting his only bogey. Nice shooting Pat. Cory must have bumped his head played unconscious as he posted his best round of the season

Team #A6: Warren Hood & Jim Turner: Both players were missing in action in week 17.

Bank rounds were used to match up against their opponents. Warren had a (47) bank round and Jim had a (45) bank round.

Team #A7: Bill Gaunt & Steve Ciaramitaro: Bill comes in with another low 40’s round, coming in with a 42 in week 17. Bill took doubles on holes #10,& #14. He posted bogeys on 11, 12 & 13. He finished strong, posting pars on 15, 16, 17 & 18 for a very good finish.

Bill notched (4) pars. Steve also posted a decent round, coming in with a 52.Steve got his round lit up with two doubles

Starting at 6:15. We will start our rounds around 7:22 - 7:30.

TEAM #B3 (DENNY & KEN) LEAD IS NOW DOWN TO (30) POINTS AND WILL MATCH UP AGAINST THE 2ND PLACE TEAM #B5 (GARY & DENNIS) WHO HAVE MADE UP (46) POINTS IN LAST FEW WEEKS!! B3 WILL NEED (12) POINTS TO SHUT THEM DOWN AND TAKE THE TOP SPOT!!

Team #B8: Bill Marsack & Ron Corfield: Bill posted another nice round, coming in with a 42 last week. His worst hole turned out to be #10. He posted a triple and then settled down.

Bill nailed pars on 11, 14, 15 & 16 with bogeys on the other 4. Nice shooting Bill. Ron posted a nice round breaking back into the 50’s for the second time. Ron shot a 57. Ron posted a par on # 16. He added a couple of bogeys on 12 & 15. Ron posted 2 triples and 3 quads. He finished with a double on #18.

Nice effort Ron. posting back to back doubles. He added doubles on #11 and the par three 16th.

Still a decent round Denny. Denny posted (3) pars in a decent round. Ken continues to show good

Team #B1: Jim Loughead & Erv Rock: Jim was not present for league play and a bank round of 56 was used. Erv was able to make it and posted a 64 for the round. Erv found a couple of bogeys in his round that was filled in with quads and triples. Two holes cost Erv 10 extra shots. Good try Erv. Team #B2: Matt Zuber & Tim Weigel: Matt shot his second round in the 40’s in week 17

Matt started rough posting an opening triple. He bogeyed two holes before notching a par on #13. He made bogeys on 11, 12 , 16 & 17 to help keep his score down. He got bit by a quad on #14 and a final triple on 18. Good effort Matt. Tim has been positing rounds in the 50’s for the last several weeks, but came in with a very disappointing round of 73. His first two holes cost Tim 8 extra shots. He managed bogeys on 13,

He broke up the bogeys with a nice par on #16. Hole #17 clipped him for a double but he recovered well and nailed a par on the par 5 - 18th.

Ken notched (3) pars.

& 15. He posted back to back quads on 13 & 14. He finished almost like he started. He added 9 extra shots on the final two holes. A valiant effort Tim. Team #B3: Denny Obenauer & Ken Kelchner: Denny came in with a decent round, posting a 46 in week 17.

Denny nailed pars on three holes. He made one on 12, the second on 15 and the last one on #18. He had trouble in the middle holes,

And Denny still maintain a sizeable lead with 30 points and will need at least 12 point between them to keep the top spot.

Team #B4: Billy Alessandrini & Mark Dixon: Mark was unable to play in the round last Thursday and a bank round of 57 was used. Billy continues to show that the lessons he has been taking are working for his game. Billy stuck in a bogey on #11 between doubles on 10 & 12. Billy then put together some nice holes, posting pars on 13, 15& 18. He made one more double, this one on the #1 handicap hole on the back, #17. He came in with a nice 44. Nice shooting Billy. Since his lessons began, Billy has consistently stayed in the 40’s.

Team #B5: Dennis Koehn & Gary Carr: Dennis and Gary made a charge in the last few weeks, cutting into

in his round as well. He started with a double on 10 and 12 sticking in a triple on 11. After back to back triple, Steve posted back to back pars. He made his first on #15 and followed that with one on #16. He bogeyed #17 but

Team #3’s lead, which is now down to 30, as they have made up 43 points in the last two weeks. Dennis started slow, as he stuck a bogey between triples from #10 & #12. He seemed to settle down, as he made a bogey on #13 but got bit by a double on 14. He nailed a birdie on #15 and finished with two bogeys and a par on #18. Good finish Dennis. Gary continues to hover in the mid to lower 50’s as he comes in with a 55 in week 17. He had three bad holes that cost him a chance to get into the 40’s. An opening triple, a triple on 14 and a quad on 18. Gary posted 3 doubles and 1 triple. Good effort Gary.

Got bit by a triple on #18 to cost him a round in the 40’s. Steve makes (2) pars. Good shooting Steve.

This has been a pretty good season and the Flight Changes have seemed to work out just

Team #B6: Larry Ball & Don Bacon: After three rounds in the 40’s, Larry faltered a bit and came in with a 56 in week 17. His first two holes and the last two holes did the extensive damage to his round. Those four holes cost him 13 extra strokes . Larry couldn’t find any pars in his round. But did play bogey golf on 4 of the nine holes. He added a double in on #14. Good try Larry.

Don has taken over for Norm, and comes in with a 54. The opening hole cost Don 5 extra shots. He played bogey golf for the next three holes and then got stung by a triple on 14 followed by a

Ernie comes in with a 51 last week. He opened with back to back bogeys before finding back to back doubles. He added a few more bogeys but got stung big with 5 extra shots over the hole par on #17. He managed a bogey on the final par 5, hole #18. Still a decent round Ernie.

Steve really showed good improvement
