THE BOYS OF SUMMER (BRIAN DERITA & DOM DERITA) ALL BUT LOCK UP FIRST PLACE AS THEY INCREASE THEIR LEAD TO 74 POINTS WITH THREE WEEKS REMAINING IN THE SEASON!!

Team #A5: Pat Nellis (38) & Cory Routheaux (48): Pat started poorly but made up for the opening double on #10 and a bogey on #11 as he knocked off one of the extra strokes with a birdie on #12 enroute to his (38). He made one more bogey on #13 and coasted home with pars on the next 5 holes for a great finish. Pat notched (5) pars and (1) birdie. Nice round Patrick. Cory actually played decently on most of the holes. He notched an opening par on #10 and then bogeyed the next three holes. He made two triples in his round. One came on #14 and the other on #18. Cory posted bogeys on 11, 12 & 13 along with bogeys on 15 & 16. Hole #17 cost Cory his only double. Good effort Cory. Cory made (1) par in his round of (48).

Team #A6: Pastor Warren Hood (Bank round 46) & Pastor Jim Turner (Bank round 45): Both players were absent for week #15 and bank rounds were used to post against their opponents.

Team #A7: Bill Gaunt (41) & Steve Ciaramitaro (53): Bill seems to find one hole that does a number on his round. This time it was hole #10. Bill found some water along the way and posted an 8 on the hole. He played par-bogey golf on holes 11, 12 13 & 14. He got into a par mode on the final 4 holes with some might fine shooting. Bill notched (6) pars in his round of 41. Steve also had a much better round than those of the last few weeks. Steve posted (4) doubles on #10, #14, #16 & #18. He made a quad on #13 and a triple on #17. Steve finished with a 53, his second in a row. Very nice effort and round Steve.

Team #A8: Doug Busam (Bank round 47) & Nate Hood (50): Doug has been called to do extra practice for his musical group and won’t be available for the next few weeks. His bank round of (47) was used to post against his opponent. Nate has been playing well, but ran into trouble last week in his round, as he posted a (50).After an opening double,. Nate notched a bogey on #11 and made his only par on #12. He found back to back bogeys on #14 & 15 . His final two holes did the rest of the damage as he got bit by a quad on #17 and a double on the par 5 –18th. Good effort Nate.

Team #A9: Brent Cymbalski (42) & Ken Cymbalski (50): This team had to play against the course this week and they split points right down the middle. Brent started with a bogey on #10 and put together back to back pars on #11 & #12. He then posted bogeys on #13 & 14 before finding a double on #15. Brent finished with bogeys on 16 & 17 and nailed a very nice par on #18. Brent finished his (42) with (3) pars. Ken has gotten over his illness and played better this week. He had a bad start on #10 hole, adding 5 extra strokes on his card. Ken added a three doubles to go with a couple of pars, one on #13 and the other on #18. Ken finished his round of (50) with (2) pars. Good effort and shooting Ken.

DOMINIC DERITA LEADS THE ‘A’ FLIGHT PLAYERS INTO THE CLUBHOUSE WITH A [37]! PAT NELLIS FOLLOWS CLOSELY WITH A 38. HONORABLE MENTION TO: WAYNE DAVIDSON (41), BILL GAUNT (41), RAY RESSLER (42) & BRENT CYMBALSKI (42) RUSTY ELLISON (43) & KEN HUYGHE (44)!! NICE ROUNDS BY ALL!!

Team #A1:Stan Dreslinski (47) & Ray Ressler (42): Stan continues to struggle to get his rounds back down into the lower 40’s and the opening hole of the round didn’t help him as he took 4 extra strokes to get it into the cup. He stuck a par on #12 between bogeys on 11 & 13. After the double on 14, Stan made back to back bogeys on 15 & 16. He took a final double on 17 and finished on a good note with a par on #18. Stan finished with a 47 posting (2) pars. Good try Stan. Ray continues to stay at the lower spectrum of the 40’s, posting his 2nd (42) in a row. Ray made (5) bogeys from hole #10 thru hole #14. He notched back to back pars on 15 & 16. He finished with back to back bogeys and a round of (42). Ray made (2) pars in his round. Good round Ray. Team #A2: Andre Viger (Bank round (42) & Ken Huyghe (44): Andre was unable to make league night and a bank round of (42) was used to post against his opponent. Ken started out with an opening bogey and then got hot. He nailed pars on 11, 12, 13, 14 & 15, for 5 in a row. Then after the bogey on #16, the bottom dropped out of his round. Hole #17 cost Ken a quad and hole #18 cost him a triple. Ken finished with (5) pars in his round of (44). Good shooting Ken, at least for 7 holes.

Team #A3: Wayne Davidson (41) & Rusty Ellison (43): Wayne has been playing lower 40’s golf for the last 4 of 5 rounds with some very nice shooting. Wayne comes in with a (41) in last weeks play. After opening with back to back bogeys, Wayne nailed a birdie on hole #12. He continued to hit the ball well and the flat stick was working well as he nailed back to back pars after the bird. Hole #15 gouged his round with a triple and hole number 17 got him for a double. He posted (2) more pars in the round, one on 16 and the last one on #18. Good finish Wayne. Wayne finished with (4) pars and (1) birdie. Rusty also posted his second low forties round in a row, coming in with a (43) last week. After he took an opening double, Rusty played bogey golf for the next 4 holes. He broke the bogey run with a par on #15. Two more bogeys before Rusty finished with a solid par on #18. Rusty finished with (2) pars. Nice shooting Rusty.

Team #A4: Brian DeRita (Bank round 38) & Dominic DeRita (37): Brian was out of town on Church business and his round of (38) was used to post against his opponent. Dom was there and came out quickly with a par run. Starting on #10, he nailed four straight pars taking him to hole #14. He then fell off some, posting bogeys on #14, #15 & #16. He removed one of the extra shots, nailing a birdie on #17. Dom finished with a par on #18 and a 2 over par (37). Dom led the ‘A’ flight players in with the best round of the night. Nice shooting Dom. Dom posted (5) pars and (1) birdie.

Our outing is being held at St. Clair Shores on the 27th of September. Registration begins at 6:30. We will have a modified shotgun start beginning at 7:22 am. Please make sure to sign up as soon as possible. The money needs to be in by the first week of September. Put your teams together. This outing as always is a memorial outing dedicated to the memories of Dan Danzak & John Luzier who went home to the Lord.

TEAM #B3 (DENNY OBENAUER & KEN KELCHNER) REGAIN A LARGE LEAD (NOW 63 POINTS) AS THEY TAKE 38 POINTS IN THEIR MATCH WITH THE 2ND PLACE TEAM (DENNIS KOEHN & GARY CARR) !!!

Team #B6: Larry Ball (46) & Norm Giraud (Bank round 65): Norm has taken a different job and was unavailable to play in the league last week. Hopefully he will be able to play in week 16. Larry was present and had another decent round, coming into the clubhouse with a (46). Larry posted bogeys on his first two holes and then nailed a par on the par 3 - 12th. After a bogey on #4, Larry got clipped by back to back doubles. He finished his final three holes with one more double and two bogeys. Larry finished with just (1) par. Good shooting Larry.

Team #B7: Ernie Danos (Bank round 48) & Steven Fleck (57): This team keeps alternating who is here and who is gone. This week it was Ernie who used a bank a (48) bank round to post against his opponent.

Steve came in with a 57, a stroke worse than his previous round. After a quad on #1 and triple on #2, Steve bounced back notching a par on #12.He then added another triple, on hole #13 followed by his second quad on #14. He made back to back bogeys and looked like he would recover some. The double on #17 was followed by a final quad on the final hole, the par 5 - 18th. Steve finished with (1) par in his round of (57). Good try Steve.

Team #B8: Bill Marsack (46) & Ron Corfield (72): Bill rebound from last weeks higher 40’s round as he brought down his score to the mid 40’s with a (46). Bill played bogey golf for the first 4 holes before breaking it with a par on #14, which happens to be the tough double water hole on the back. He posted a double on #15 and bogeyed the par three, 16th. He finished on a low note, posting a triple on #17 and bogey on #18.

Still a decent round Bill. Bill finished with (1) par. Good round Bill. Ron had all kinds of trouble in his round after a week off as he was out of town. Ron posted 2 quads to go with one triple. Most of the other holes found at least 5 shots over the hole pars. He posted a bogey on #16 and took 8 extra shots on the narrow par 4, hole #15. It was a valiant effort Ron. Ron finished with a disappointing round of (72).

Team #B1: Jim Loughead (56) & Erv Rock (61): Jim continues to stay in the middle of the 50’s coming in with a (56) in last weeks league play. Jim struggled with 4 triples in his first four holes. He posted a couple of doubles, one on #11 and the other on #14. He managed a bogey on #16 but finished with three more doubles on 15, 17 & 18. A very good try Coach. Erv also struggled on the back nine, come in with a (61) last week.

His opening double was followed by a quad on #11. A bogey on 12 and then it was 9 extra strokes over the hole pars on the next two holes, #13 & #14. He made one more bogey, this one on #15 and added a triple on 16, double on 17 and 5 more shots over the hole par on 18. Good try Erv. KEN KELCHNER & DENNIS KOEHN LEAD THE ‘B’ FLIGHT GOLFERS INTO THE WATERING HOLE WITH THE BEST ROUNDS AS BOTH POSTED NICE (42’s).

HONORABLE MENTION TO: MATT ZUBER (43) BILLY ALESSANDRINI (45) BILL MARSACK (46) & LARRY BALL (46) ~ NICE SHOOTING GUYS!!

Team #B2: Matt Zuber (43) & Tim Weigel (58): Matt finally put another nice round together, coming in with the 3rd best round of the night in the B flight with a (43). Matt opened with a double, then made bogey on #11.

He notched his first of (2) pars nailing one on #12. After a double on #13, Matt took another bogey on #14. He nailed a birdie on #16 and followed that with a par on #16. Matt made a final double on 17 and finished with a bogey on the par 5 - 18th. Matt finished with (2) pars and (1) birdie in a very nice round. Good shooting Matt.

Tim had his troubles trying to duplicate last weeks nice round of 48, coming in 10 shots higher with a (58).

The opening quad got things off to a rough start. He manage a couple of bogeys on 11, & 12 before following that up with back to back doubles. One more bogey and then the bottom dropped out. After five extra strokes over the hole par on #16, Tim found a quad on 17 and another 5 extra shots on 18. A valiant effort Tim. Team #B3: Denny Obenauer (Bank round 45) & Ken Kelchner (42): Denny was out of town and a bank round of 45 was used to post against his opponent. Ken continues to show good improvements in his rounds, coming in tied with the best round of the night in his division. Ken posted a (42) with some mighty nice shooting. Ken started good, notching a par on #10. After a bogey on 11, Ken nailed a birdie on the first par three, hole #12.He notched another par on #13 before getting on the bogey train. He made four in a row, but got clipped by a triple on #18 to end on a sour note. Still a very nice round Ken. Ken finished with (2) pars and (1) birdie. Good shooting Ken. Team #B4: Billy Alessandrini (45) & Mark Dixon (57): Billy continues to show improvements in his rounds as he comes in with a mid 40’s round of (45). An opening double was followed by a par on #11. Billy notched bogeys on his next three holes, taking him to #15. There he stopped the bogey run with a par. He fell off some, posting a double on 16, a unwanted triple on 17 but finished on a good note with a par on #18. Good round Billy. Mark started with a bogey by his round went south right away with a quad on #11. A bogey on #12 was then followed by two bad holes. Holes #13 & #14 were quads costing Mark an extra 8 strokes over the hole pars. He made double on #15 and nailed a par on #16. The final two holes cut more into his round, as he doubled #17 and took a final quad on #18. Mark finished with (1) par in his round of 57. Good try Mark.

Team #B5: Dennis Koehn (42) & Gary Carr (56): Dennis has posted his third very low 40’s round, coming in with a (42) last week. Dennis started with a bogey but made back to back pars on 11 & 12 to get back on track. After the bogey on 13, Dennis got stung by a double on 14. He made one more par, this time on 15 and finished his round with bogeys on the final three holes. Dennis posted (3) pars in a nice round. Good shooting Dennis. Partner Gary continues to have roller coaster rounds. He comes in 5 shots higher than his last round, posting a (56). Gary stuck a bogey on #11 between quads on 10 & 12. He made a double on 13 but got bit by another triple on 14. He made one more bogey, this one on 16 but finished with doubles on 15, 17 & 18.
