4TH TEAM #B6 LARRY / NORM 253 Team #B1: Jim Loughead (52) & Erv Rock (64): Jim continues to stay around the low 50’s, coming in with a 52 in week 10. Jim started with a double but nailed a par on #2, the long par 5. It was back to a double on #3 followed by a bogey on 4. The second par 5 bit him for a double, but #6 took the most toll on his round with 5 extra shots. After a par on #7, Jim made back to back doubles on 8 & 9. Jim finished with (2) pars.

Nice round Coach! Erv continues to hover around the mid 60’s coming in one stroke worse than last week with a 66. Erv opened with a very good bogey on the #2 handicap hole on the front. It was downhill from there. Erv made a triple on 2, followed by a quad on 3 and 2nd triple in his round on #4. He started his final 5 holes with a double on #5.

Back to back triples were followed by 5 more strokes over par on #8. Erv finished with a triple on #9 and a round of 66. Good try Erv.

Team #B2: Matt Zuber (52) & Tim Weigel (Bk 49): Tim was absent from the league for the second week in a row, and I was unable to talk to Matt to make sure Tim was alright, as he did not come into the clubhouse after golf. Matt is still trying to get consistent on his rounds and stay in the 40’s as he comes in with a 52 last week. After an opening triple, Matt seemed to settle down. He posted bogeys on the next three holes. The second par 5 clipped him for his first double.

He again notched back to back bogeys on 6 & 7 before hole #8 bit him for 4 extra strokes. Matt finished with a double on #9 and a round of 52. Nice try Matt.

Team #B3: Denny Obenauer (50) & Ken Kelchner (46): Denny slipped a bit in the round coming in 5 strokes over last weeks round, posting a 50. After a tough start with a triple, Denny notched back to back bogeys. The next three holes were all doubles taking him to the 2nd par three. There he proceeded to nail a

closest to the pin prize and notch a par. He finished his round with a double on 8 and bogey on 9. Denny posted (1) par to go with his sleeve of balls. Nice shooting Denny. Ken continues his mid 40’s rounds, coming in two strokes better than last week with a 46.Ken started out decently, posting back to back bogeys followed by back to back pars. Holes #5 & 6 dug into his round with back to back doubles.

He leveled out making bogey son 7 & 8 but finished out with a double on #9.

Still a very nice round Ken. Ken notched (2) pars. Nice shooting Ken. Team #B4:Billy Alessandrini (53) & Mark Dixon (50): Billy matched his last weeks score coming in with a 53.

The first three holes cost him 6 extra strokes as all were doubles. He broke the string of doubles with a bogey on #4. His round then went south as he posted back to back triples. One more continued bottom left column

Double and then back to back bogeys to finish on a little better note. Good try Billy. Partner Mark knocked off 5 strokes from his last round coming in with a 50. Mark was hot out of the gate even with the bogey on 1. He nailed

pars on holes #2, 3 & 4 to get a good streak going. Then it was like a different player playing the balance of the round.

It started with a double on 2nd par 5, hole #5. That was followed up with quads on hole #6 and hole #7. Mark

then finished his round with a triple on #8 and double on #9. Mark finished with (3) pars in a decent round. Nice job Mark.

Volume 16 Issue 11 Team #5: Gary Carr (53) & Dennis Koehn (46): Gary fell back a few strokes, coming into the watering hole with a round of 53. Gary got off to a rough start, posting a double on hole #1 followed by a triple on the first par 5 hole #2. Gary again found a double on hole #3 but followed that with a bogey on #4.

Gary again got into a troublesome groove, posting back to back doubles on 5 & 6.He leveled out with a couple of bogeys on his next two holes. The final hole clipped him for a final triple and the round of 53. Good try Gary. Dennis also fell off his last weeks game by 3 strokes, posting a 46 in week 10. Dennis started decently posting a very nice par on the #1 handicap on the front 9. He made back to back bogeys on 2 & 3. His next three holes did lots of damage, as he got stuck in a double groove. He made three doubles in a row, posting them on 4, 5 & 6. He did make a decent recovery, posting a par on #7 and finishing with back to back bogeys. Dennis notched (2) pars.

Page 2 Team #6: Larry Ball (55) & Norm Giraud (62): Larry continues to struggle to get back into the upper 40’s to lower 50’s as he comes in with a 55 last week.

He got off to a poor start as he posted an opening double and tripled the first par 5, hole #2. Larry notched a bogey on #3 and nailed his only par on #4.

The next two holes, #5 & #6 cost Larry 7 extra strokes as he made a triple on #5 and quad on #6. Larry made a bogey on #7 but then got stung by the final two holes. Hole number 8 turned into a triple and he finished on #9 with a double.

Larry notched (1) par. Good try Larry.

His partner was absent last week and seemed to be off a bit in week 10’s play.

The first two holes seemed to dictate his round as he took an opening quad followed by a triple on the first par 5. He then seemed to get it back into control as he notched back to back bogeys. His next three holes sunk his round as he made triples on 5, 6 & 7. The 8th hole is the one that destroyed his chance for something in the 50’s as he posted bacon strips. He did manage a bogey

Bill comes in with a 46 last week and he and Ron move up a slot into 3rd place by themselves. Bill opened with a bogey and then got bit by a triple on the first par 5. After a couple of bogeys, Bill nailed a nice par on the 2nd par 5, hole #5. He didn’t fare well on the tough #6 hole as he put a triple on the card. He did come through with a great finish in his round.

After a bogey on #7, Bill nailed back to back pars for a solid finish to his round.

Bill finished with (3) pars. Nice job Bill and great finish to your round. Ron coming off last weeks very nice round found lots of trouble this week on the front 9.

Team #7: Ernie Danos (55) & Steve Fleck (Bank round 51): Steve Fleck was absent last week and a bank round of 51 was used against his opponent. The bank round took 19 points to help his team. Ernie was present for the round and comes in with a 55 as he is staying consistent around the mid 50’s mark. After the opening triple, Ernie settled down and notched back to back bogeys. The first par three nipped him for a double but the 2nd par 5 took his round down with a triple. The tough par 4, hole number 6 gouged him for a triple and was followed by a double on the final par three, hole #7. One more triple showed up on his card on #8 and he did finish on a better note, posting a final bogey on #9. A very good effort Ernie.

Ron comes in with a 64, 9 strokes off last weeks round. A valiant effort Ron. As of this newsletter, we are still planning on playing our outing on the 27th of September at St. Clair Shores Golf Course at Masonic and Gratiot

Avenue. I am still waiting for the information from their representative to be sent to my E-Mail Address. I will keep everyone posted. If I get the write up, I will bring it to the league Prayer Circle this week. They did not include a hot dog, chip and soft drink at the turn, so I am waiting for the contact person to advise us how much extra it would be. It may increase the cost below by $5.00 Right now it is $60.00 for league members and $65.00 for all others.

TEAM #A4 BRIAN & DOM CONTINUE TO PILE ON THE POINTS, TAKING 38 POINTS TO INCREASE THEIR LEAD TO 49 POINTS OVER THE FATHER & SON TEAM #A9 - BRENT & KEN CYMBALSKI - WHO VAULT INTO 2ND PLACE WITH THEIR OWN 38 POINT PERFORMANCE IN WEEK 10 !!

Team #A9: Brent Cymbalski (37) & Ken Cymbalski (50): Brent was on fire right from the start as he nailed pars on every hole he played. It was 8 straight pars and he was on track to par the course. Unfortunately for him, hole #9 had other ideas. He missed his final par put to finish his round with a bogey and a 1 over par round of 37. Great shooting Brent. Brent posted (8) pars. Father Ken continues to stay solidly near the upper 40’s to lower 50’s coming in with a round of 50. The first two holes took some of t he starch out of his round as he opened with a double and followed that with a quad on the first par 5. After the double on #3, Ken notched his first of three pars.

Hole #5 got him for his only triple but he did follow that with a double on #6. Ken then put together three decent holes.

Back to back pars on 7 & 8 was finished off with a bogey on #9. Ken finished with (3) pars. A very nice effort and try Ken. Team #A1: Stan Dreslinski (45) & Ray Ressler (43): Stan & Ray had to play against the course and the course won.

A bogey started his round but he notched a par on the 1st par 5, hole #2.

He got bit by back to back doubles on 3 & 4 before posting his second par, again on a par 5, hole #5. Stan then got on a bogey run, posting them on his final four holes to finish his round on the bogey train. A nice effort by Stan who finishes with (2) pars. Ray started his round with back to back bogeys before posting a couple of nice pars. He nailed a par on #3 and #4 with some nice saving putts. He made another bogey on the 2nd par 5, hole #5. His only double showed up on hole #6. He made bogeys on 7 & 8 and finished on a positive note with a par on #9. Ray finished with (3) pars in his round of 43. Good try Ray. Team #A2: Andre Viger (43) & Ken Huyghe (Bank round of 39): Ken was still having some health issues missing the 2nd week in a row. We just want him to know that we do have him and his family in prayer and a speedy

recovery . Ken’s bank round was pretty decent using a 39 from week #8, but unfortunately he was paired against another good shooter that came in with a 37 in last weeks round to take the match. Andre was coming off a (1) over par round 36 last week but had his troubles on the front this week coming in with a 43. After a bogey on #1, Andre posted his only double that came on hole #2. Andre notched a par on #3 and then fell into a bogey run. He made three in a row before stopping them with a par on hole #7. He added another par on #8 and finished with a bogey on #9. Andre finished with (3) pars in a decent round. Good try Andre.

Team #A3: Wayne Davidson (46) & Rusty Ellison (48): Wayne struggled some this week, coming in two strokes over last weeks round with a 46. Wayne started with a double on hole #1, that bit 17 of the 18 golfers in the ‘A’ Flight with at least a bogey if not worse. Wayne took a bogey on #2 and nailed his first of 3 pars on #3. continued bottom left column

BRENT CYMBALSKI LEADS ALL PLAYERS FROM THE A FLIGHT INTO THE CLUBHOUSE WITH A VERY NICE 1 OVER PAR 37 ~ FOLLOWED BY DOM DERITA WITH A 40 !!

HONORABLE MENTION TO PAT NELLIS (42) WARREN HOOD (43) ANDRE VIGER (43) & RAY RESSLER (43) After the bogey on #4, Wayne stuck a nice shot on the green of #5. Bidding for a bogey, Wayne settled for a par as the birdie putt just missed. Hole number 6 took its toll on his round with a quad. He finished with a bogey on 7, par on 8 and bogey on 9. A decent finish Wayne. Good try. Wayne notched (3) pars in his round of 46. Partner Rusty also seemed to struggle this week, as he has been posting rounds in the lower 40’s. Rusty comes in with a disappointing round of 48 in week 10. Rusty opened with back to back

Bogeys before finding back to back doubles on #3 & #4. Rusty notched a nice par on #5 but then got clipped by another double on #6. A par was made on #7 but then Rusty got stung by a triple on #8. He finished a bit better, notching a final bogey on #9. Rusty finished with (2) pars in his round of 48. Good try Rusty.

Team #A4: Brian DeRita (Bank round 39) & Dominic DeRita (40): Brian is still in Italy but will be rejoining us in week

11. He used a (39) against his opponent. Dominic posted the 2nd best round of the night with a 40.

Dom posted a bogey-par run on the first four holes. He then proceeded to nail a birdie on #5. He posted two more bogeys, holes #6 & #7 before breaking the chain with a par on #8. Dom finished with a bogey on #9. Dom finished with (3) pars and a birdie. Nice round Dom. They increase their lead to 49 points, with 8 weeks remaining.

Volume 16 Issue 11 Team #A5: Pat Nellis (42) & Cory Routheaux (50): Again, Pat seems to be going up and down in his rounds and now has the lowest handicap amongst the ‘A’ flight players with a 2 handicap. Pat did post a slightly higher round this week, coming in with a 42. Pat started with a bogey but strung together back to back pars on 2 & 3. The first par three, hole #4 cost Pat his only double of his round. Pat played bogey par golf the rest of the way in his round. Pat notched pars on 6 & 8 with bogeys on 5, 7 & 9. Nice round Pat. Pat finished with (4) pars.

Cory matched his last weeks round, coming into the 19th hole with a 50.

Cory got off to a rocky start, posting an opening double bogey followed by a bogey. He continued on the same pattern as the start posting another double followed by a bogey on holes 3 & 4. Cory broke the string with back to back doubles but followed the 2nd double on #6 with a par. His final two holes added 4 more strokes to his card with his second back to back double run. Cory finished with (1) par.

Good try Cory.

Team #A6: Warren Hood (43) & Jim Turner (48): Warren knocked off a few strokes from last weeks round with a 46. Hole #1 wasn’t very friendly to him as he took an opening triple on the card. After a bogey on the first par 5, Nate got stung by a double on the 3rd hole but followed that with a nice tee shot and couple of good putts to nail a par on the first par three. Nate looked like he put it back together as he nailed another par on the 2nd par 5 (hole #5) to help keep a decent round going. Just when he seemed focused, up jumped a 2nd triple, this time on the 2nd hardest handicap hole, #6. Nate finished strong with pars on 7 & 9 with a bogey in between on #8. Nice finish Nate and good round. Nate notched (4) pars in his round. All in all it was a very nice night for golf and a lot of good fellowship inside after the round.

coming in with a 43. Like so many others, that first hole got him for a triple. Warren then played some very steady golf. A par on #2 was followed up by a bogey on #3.

Back to back pars continued to help his round as he nailed them on the second par 5 and the #2 handicap hole on the front, hole #6. He finished his round with three bogeys, posted on 6, 7 & 9 sticking in a solid par on hole #8 for a decent finish. Nice shooting Pastor Hood. Warren posted (4) pars in a nice round. Pastor Jim Turner continues to struggle some coming in with a 48 in last weeks round.

He like Warren started in the hole with an opening triple. A bogey on #2 was followed up by a solid par on #3. The second par 3 cost Jim a bogey but again he got focused and nailed a par on the 2nd par 5, hole #5. The second hardest hole, #6 bit into his round with his second triple.

Jim finished with a couple more bogeys but got stung by a final double on #9. Jim finished with (2) pars. Good try Jim. Team #A7: Bill Gaunt (Bank round 47) & Steve Ciaramitaro (52): Bill was absent from the league and a bank round of 47 was used against his opponent. Steve continues to make progress in his rounds and posts his second (52) in a row. If it hadn’t been for the first two holes, Steve would have come in with a round in the

40’s. The first hole gouged his round with 5 extra strokes and the par 5 following the #1 handicap hole cost Steve a triple. Steve did settle down making some nice drives and 2nd shots to the greens. Steve posted a bogey on #3 and made a final double on the par 3 4th hole. From that point on Steve played solid notching bogey after bogey the rest of his round.

It was a nice run to keep his round in tact after the rough start. Very nice job Steve.

Team #A8: Doug Busam (47) & Nate Hood (46): Doug rebounded nicely from last weeks disappointing round as he came into the clubhouse 10 strokes less than last week, posting a nice 47. Doug started out steady notching bogeys on his first 4 holes with some nice shooting. Hole #5 did the damage to his round that kept him from a much lower score. #5 bit into his round with a triple. A bogey on 6 was followed by a par on #7. The 8th hole got him for a double but he did finish with a bogey on #9 for a decent round. Good shooting Doug. Nate fell back a couple of strokes from last week, coming in continued on bottom left column

In order to have a modified shot gun start we would have to tee off at 7:30 in the morning. This would get us out of there probably by 1:30 or 2:00. I will bring in the write up on what they are offering to present to the league.
