#4 PHIL TOMPKINS STAYED CLOSE TO THE TOP IN THE 2ND HALF AND IT PAID OFF AS HE IS CROWNED LEAGUE CHAMPION FOR THE 2013 SEASON! CONGRATULATIONS DAD!! #2 Joe Goyke (1st) vs #4

Phil Tompkins (2nd): Joe has struggled the last few weeks and it showed as Phil came out hot, posting back to back pars against Joe’s bogeys. With Phil getting a stroke on #13 and both players posting bogeys, Phil opened with 6 points in the match. The 2nd par three bit both players, Joe with a double and Phil with a triple that gave Joe his first points of the match. Phil struggled on the net two holes, making his second triple in a row and the lead 5-3. Larry notched a par on the 5th to increase his lead 7-3. Larry and Ray split the points on the next two holes, both posting doubles on the first par 5 - hole #6 and pars on #7. At this point Larry had a 5 point lead in the match. Ray took hole #8 with a bogey and the help of the handicap stroke. The final hole decided the point outcome in the match. Ray drained a 20’ putt to make par and Larry capped off his round with a par as well to halve the hole. Good match and ok shooting by both

taking a bogey on #6. At this point, Joe had tied up the match, each player with 6 points. Both players bogeyed #7 to split the points. Phil then took control, posting a bogey on #8 while Joe was busy making a double. Phil finished strong, nailing a final par on #9 with Joe finishing with a bogey. This gave Phil 4 more points and the match. Very nice shooting by Phil and valiant effort by Joe. Phil notched (3) pars with Joe making (1) par.
