#4 PHIL TOMPKINS STAYED CLOSE TO THE TOP IN THE 2ND HALF AND IT PAID OFF AS HE IS CROWNED LEAGUE CHAMPION FOR THE 2013 SEASON! CONGRATULATIONS DAD!! #2 Joe Goyke (1st) vs #4

Phil Tompkins (2nd): Joe has struggled the last few weeks and it showed as Phil came out hot, posting back to back pars against Joe’s bogeys. With Phil getting a stroke on #13 and both players posting bogeys, Phil opened with 6 points in the match. The 2nd par three bit both players, Joe with a double and Phil with a triple that gave Joe his first points of the match. Phil struggled on the net two holes, making his second triple in a row and the lead 5-3. Larry notched a par on the 5th to increase his lead 7-3. Larry and Ray split the points on the next two holes, both posting doubles on the first par 5 - hole #6 and pars on #7. At this point Larry had a 5 point lead in the match. Ray took hole #8 with a bogey and the help of the handicap stroke. The final hole decided the point outcome in the match. Ray drained a 20’ putt to make par and Larry capped off his round with a par as well to halve the hole. Good match and ok shooting by both

Phil then took control, posting a bogey on #8 while Joe was busy making a double. Phil finished strong, nailing a final par on #9 with Joe finishing with a bogey. This gave Phil 4 more points and the match. Very nice shooting by Phil and valiant effort by Joe. Phil notched (3) pars with Joe making (1) par.

While Bob was nailing a par on #5, Gary notched a birdie. Gary and Bob matched bogeys on the next three holes. Nice shooting by both.

MEN’S WEDNESDAY NIGHT GOLF LEAGUE 2013 used to post against Mark. Mark got off to a very bad start posting an opening triple as Cory’s card yielded a double taking the first two points. Cory took hole #2 as well with a bogey to Mark’s double. It was all Mark from #2 one. Mark took hole #3 with a double and the help of the handicap stroke. Mark nailed a par on #4 with Cory’s card showing a bogey. They split the points on #5 and then it was all Mark. Mark posted a bogey on #6 followed by a double on #7. Mark finished strong

#8 Robbie Christensen (7th) vs #5 Terry Pardon (8th): Both Rob & Terry have been riding roller coaster rounds the last several weeks. Robbie and Terry both started with a bogey on #1. While Robbie posted a bogey on #2, Terry took a triple giving Robbie the lead in the match that he would not relinquish. Terry tied up the match as he made a bogey to Robbie’s triple. Robbie then went into bogey mode. Robbie started his bogey run on #4 and continued for the next 5 holes. Meanwhile, Terry could not get

anything going and posted doubles on his next 3 holes. The final two holes did the balance of the damage with a quad on #8 and a triple on #9. Good try to Terry and good shooting Robbie. Robbie comes in with a 47 to Terry’s 55.

The handicap stroke had them splitting points again. Both David and Erik split the next two holes and at this point both players were tied in the hole points. Hole #7 and #8 did Dave’s round in, as the posted (5) strokes over the hole par on #7 and a triple on #8.

Erik posted a bogey on #7 and double on #8. These holes decided the match as Erik won both holes. Erik takes the match and moves up one into 10th with Dave remaining in the same position he started in.

Good effort by both.
