TEAM #4 (RAY & GARY) REMAINS IN FIRST PLACE BY FOUR POINTS AFTER OUR FIRST POSITION ROUND OVER TEAM #3 (ANDRE & KEN) WHO VAULT INTO 2ND PLACE TAKING 29 POINTS IN THEIR MATCH LAST WEEK!!

Team #A4: Ray Ressler (43) & Gary Kwapik (40): Ray played bogey golf most of the round throwing in a couple of pars. Ray comes in with a (43). Ray went 5 straight holes with bogeys posting his first par on #6. He notched his second par on #8 with bogeys on 7 & 9. Ray finished with (2) pars. Gary on the other hand, led all golfers in the ’A’ Flight with the best round, a (40), as he nailed pars on his first 6 holes before finishing his last three holes with 2 bogeys on a double. Gary notched (6) pars. Good rounds by both.

Team #A5: Warren Hood (42) & Jim Turner (Bk 45): Pastor Hood is still waiting to be called into the hospital for his heart procedure. He played for the second straight week after finding out that he may need heart surgery.

And he played well, coming in with a very nice (42). After an opening bogey, Warren notched pars on his next

four holes. He got into a little rut posting back to back doubles on 6 & 7. He finished better with a bogey on 8 & final par on 9. Warren nailed (5) pars. Jim had a church engagement and could not make the league night. A bank round of (45) was used.

Team #A6: Nate Hood (52) & Trevor Vallus (46): Nate continues to struggle to get his rounds back into the 40’s as he comes in 2 strokes better than his previous week with a 52. Nate started with bogeys on his first 4 holes before getting bit by back to back doubles on the 5th & 6th holes. Then the bottom dropped out on hole #8 as he posted a quad. The final hole did the final damage with his third double. Trevor continues to play decently and comes in with third round in the 40’s, posting a 46.

Trevor started his round with a par on #1 and found his first of 3 bogeys on #2.

Hole # 3 was a hole he probably wants to forget as he got stung by a triple. He

nailed his second par on the 1st par three. It was more trouble on the 2nd par 5 and the tough #6 as he added back to back doubles. He finished his round with bogeys on the 7 & 8 finishing with a solid par. Trevor made (3) pars. Good effort by Nate and nice round by Trevor.

Team #A7: Bill Gaunt (46) & Steve Ciaramitaro (64): Bill continues to struggle to keep his rounds on the front nine down in the lower 40’s as he comes in with a 46. Bill stuck a bogey on #2 between doubles on #1 & #3.

Bill made a bogey on #4 but followed that with a par on #5.

He bogeyed #6 & #7 before closing with a double on 8 and par on #9. Bill notched (2) pars.

Steve got a very poor start and never seemed to recover.

GARY KWAPIK LEADS THE WAY WITH THE BEST ROUND IN THE ‘A’ FLIGHT WITH A 40 ~ RIGHT BEHIND HIM WAS KEN HUYGHE & DOMINIC DERITA WITH 41’S~ANDRE VIGER, BRIAN DERITA & WARREN HOOD ALL COME IN WITH ROUNDS OF 42~~NICE ROUNDS Steve got bit by an opening quad that was followed by back to back triples. Steve made his first of two doubles on the first par 3. Steve again went back to triples, posting two more on 5 & 6. One more double on the par 3 - 7th before the final two holes did the rest of the damage.

Steve added 8 more strokes on #8 & #9. Steve finished with a 64. A valiant effort by both Steve and Bill.

Team #A8: Billy Alessandrini (48) & Doug Busam (49): Billy posted his 2nd round in a row in the upper 40’s coming in with a (48). Billy started

with back to back doubles before posting a bogey on #3. Billy nailed a par on #4 but stumbled again as he posted his third double, his second on the par 5. He seemed to make a bit of recovery with back to back bogeys on 6 & 7. He made a final double on 8 and finished with a bogey on #9. Billy finished with (1) par. Doug missed two weeks but was able to make the league in week 5. Doug started with a bogey but fell a bit with back to back doubles. He bogeyed the first par three and nailed his only par on #5. The tough #6 cost Doug a triple that hurt his round. He stuck one more

double on #8 between bogeys on 7 & 9. Doug finished with (1) par in his round of (49). Good try by both Doug and Billy.

NOTE: To everyone in the league: Let us all remember to play ready golf.

This means if you and your partner are at different locations, then the driver should drop of his partner at his ball to hit while he goes to his ball to hit. This will help to keep the pace of the game going for all those that are behind each group. I understand that we are not professionals, but this will help the pace of the game for everyone. Lets keep the flow going for everyone.

Team #A1: Brian DeRita (42) & Dominic DeRita (41): Brian is still looking for his first round in the upper 30’s as he comes into the clubhouse with his second 42 in a row. Brian started slow posting back to back bogeys on 1 & 2 before finding back to back pars on 3 & 4. Brian posted his only double on the second par 5, hole #5. His final four holes found a bogey-par finish. Bogeys on 6 & 8 and pars on 7 & 9. Brian finished with (4) pars. Dominic continues to stay in the low 40’s his last couple of weeks. Dominic comes in a stroke worse than his previous round with a 41. Dominic had a sour start with an opening triple

on the first hole. Dominic got things on the right track as he notched pars on #2, #3, #4 before stopping the run with a bogey on #5. He started a par run again, nailing them on #6 & #7.

One more bogey made on #8 and then a final par. Dominic finished with (6) pars. Nice rounds by both Brian & Dominic who dropped into a tie for third in the standings.

Team #A2: Pat Nellis (46) & Cory Routheaux (49): Pat struggled for the first time this season coming in well above his average of 37 in week #5.

Pat started with a bogey on #1 and never stopped making

the final three holes to finish his round under 50 for the first time in two weeks. Cory finished with (1) par. Good try for Patrick in a tough round and a better round for Cory.

Team #A3: Andre Viger (42) & Ken Huyghe (41): Andre like so many others got bit by a double on the first hole to get his round off to a poor start. He nailed a par on the par 5 - 2nd before posting his second double. Andre made a bogey on the par 3 fourth and nailed his second par on the 2nd par 5. He bogeyed #6 and then got into a nice groove. He nailed pars on 7, 8 & 9 to finish strong.

Andre finished with (5) pars in his round of (42). Partner Ken has seemed to get his round steady in the lower 40’s as he came in with a (41), one stroke more than his previous round. Ken got off to a bogey - bogey start on his first two holes. He nailed his first par on #3 and again added back to back bogeys on 4 & 5. Ken nailed pars on 6 & 7 and another on #9. He made his last bogey on #8. Ken notched (4) pars in a very nice round. Nice rounds by both Andre & Ken who vault from 6th place into 2nd place after our first position round.

them. Pat posted 8 bogeys in a row before he ended the misery with a double on the 9th hole for his round of (46). Cory finally got back into the 40’s, posting a (49) in his round in week 5. Cory got stung by a triple on the first hole but made a decent recovery with back to back bogeys. He nailed a par on #4 and then had his share of problems on the next two holes.

Cory took a triple on the 2nd par 5 and double on the tough #6.

If you're making poor contact on chip shots—hitting behind the ball or catching it thin—it's probably because you're trying to help the ball into the air. Your hands are too active, and you're hitting up at impact. I'm going to walk you through a chipping technique that will make it easy to pinch the ball crisply off the turf. I will post (4) points in the next 4 weeks to help with your chipping game and hopefully help to shave off strokes off your round.

TEAM #B7 (MIKE & RAND) HOLD ON TO FIRST PLACE AS THEY SPLIT THE POINTS WITH TEAM #B4 (TIM & MATT) MAINTAINING A 6 POINT LEAD AFTER OUR FIRST POSITION ROUND OF THE SEASON!!

Team #4: Tim Weigel (54) & Matt Zuber (53): Tim dropped out of the 60’s into the 50’s last week posting a nice 54. Tim had back to back triples to start before posting doubles on holes #3 & #4. Two more triples and Tim notched a par on the 2nd par three. Tim finished with back to back bogeys for a better end to a tough start. Tim notched (1) par. Matt posts his third 53 round on the front nine. Matt had his problems as he posted doubles on his first 5 holes. The #6 hole got him for a quad. He also posted a par on

same hole as his partner, hole #7.

Matt finished with a double on 8 and bogey on 9. Still a decent finish. Matt also notched a par in his round. Nice job Tim and good effort Matt.

Team #5: Ernie Danos (55) & Steve Fleck (60): Both player seemed to struggle from last weeks decent rounds. Ernie got off to a very tough start as he opened #1 & #2 with back to back quads. He made a double on 3 and then posted bogeys on his next three holes. The second par three dug into his round with a triple.

A bogey on #8 led to a final triple on

on #9. Ernie finished with a (55).

Steve equally had his problems as well. Steve also started with back to back quads on 1 & 2 and followed with a bogey on 3. It was back to back triples on 5 & 6 before making a bogey on #7. Steve finished as bad as he started, posting a triple on 8 and quad on 9. A valiant effort by both players.

Team #6: Erv Rock (63) & Jim ‘Coach’ Loughead: Erv was able to make league night but Coach has been under the weather & unable to continued below left

make it. A bank round of (53) was used to match up against his opponent. Erv went up in strokes by 6, coming in with a (63) in week 5. Erv had his problems for the first three holes, posting back to back triples followed by a quad on #3. He was able to make a bogey on #4 before the bottom dropped out again. The second par 5 cost Erv a triple and the tough #6 clipped him for a quad.

He made a bogey on #7 and salvaged a double on #8. The final

hole did the balance of the damage.

He added 6 extra strokes on #9.

Good try Erv. Team #7: Mike Kove (53) & Rand Hewitt (53): Mike & Rand survived the first assault in a position round and maintained the lead they went into the round with. Mike dropped a stroke off last weeks round coming in with a (53). His first three holes took a large toll on his round, posting doubles on 1, 2 & 3. After that tough start, Mike took a triple on the first par three. Mike settled down some

as he made a bogey on the 2nd par 5 and notched his only par on the tough #6. One more bogey and a tough finish as Mike posted back to back triples. Partner Rand started his round with a very nice par on the #1 handicap hole on the front. After a bogey on #2, Rand made a quad on #3. A par on 4 looked like he may make a good recovery. It was not to be as #5 & #6 cost him back to back quads. The par three bit him for a triple, but he finished better continued bottom left

BILL MARSACK & KEN KELCHNER LEAD THE ‘B’ FLIGHT PLAYERS IN WITH VERY NICE ROUNDS OF 43 ~ BILL FOLSON COMES IN WITH A VERY NICE 44 ~ DENNY OBENAUER POSTS HIS BEST ROUND COMING IN WITH A 46 AND LARRY BALL COMES IN WITH A 48 with a bogey on #7 and par on #9. Rand finished with (2) pars for his (53). Good try by both players.

Team #8: Bill Folson & Brian Hewitt: Bill Folson posted his best round of the season coming in with a very nice 44. Bill started with a par and then made a double on the first par 5.

He nailed his second par on the #3. He made back to back bogeys on 4 & 5.

His third par came on the 2nd hardest handicap hole, #6. He bogeyed the par three and followed that with a double on #8. He finished with a final bogey on #9. Bill finished with (3) pars. Brian’s first three holes cost him 10 extra strokes. He made a quad

on 1 followed by back to back triples on #2 & #3. His next two holes were a bit better, but cost him back to back doubles. The tough number 6 added an additional 4 extra strokes over the hole par with a quad. A double on #7 was followed by a par on #8. Brian finished with a bogey on the 9th hole. Brian notched (1) par, coming in with a (59).

Good round Bill, nice try Brian.

Team #1: Ken Kelchner (43) & Denny Obenauer (46): Ken posted a very nice round, as he and Bill Marsack led the ‘B’ Flight in with the best rounds of the night, coming into the 19th hole with a (43). Ken played bogey golf for the first three holes before nailing his first of 4 pars in his round. The 2nd par 5 has been playing havoc with him, and this week was no exception as he made a triple on the hole. He recovered quite well as he nailed three pars in a row. He finished with a bogey on the final hole.

Ken notched (4) pars. Denny also continues to make strides to reduce his score and posts his best round of the season coming in with a (46).The bogey on #1 did not hurt like the first par 5 did as it cost him a triple. He then got into a bogey groove posting three in a row taking his round to the tough #6. He took his second triple on the hole to hurt his round some more.

He again got into focus and nailed a par on the 2nd par three and followed that with a great birdie on #8. Denny finished with a bogey on #9. Denny made (1) par and (1) birdie. Great shooting by both players, who moved up two notches into 6th place.

Team #2: Bill Marsack (43) & Ron Corfield (64): Bill shared best round honors coming in with a (43) last

week. Bill got things going with a bogey on #1 and then nailed his first of 4 pars on the par 5-2nd hole.

A bogey on #3 was again followed by a par on #4. The 2nd par 5, hole #5 got him for his first double of the round. He recovered posting a par on the tough #2 handicap hole, #6. A final bogey on 7 and his last par on 8 before stumbling a bit with his second double of the round on #9. Bill finished with (4) pars. Ron came in 3 strokes worse than his last round.

Ron started with back to back triples.

Hole #3 did the most damage to his round as he added 6 extra stokes to his card over the hole par. He bogeyed #4 and then took a double on the 2nd par 5.

The #6 hole dug into his round with 5 more strokes over the hole par. A bogey on 7 followed by a double on 8. The 9th hole did the balance of the damage to his score. Ron comes in with a (64). Bill & Ron remain in their starting position, 3rd as we near the first half of the season. Nice round Bill and good try Ron.

Team #3: Larry Ball (48) & Norm Giraud (63): Both Larry & Norm shaved off 5 strokes from their previous weeks round. Larry comes into the clubhouse with a (48). Larry opened with a bogey and got bit by a double on the first par 5.

Larry notched a par on #3 and made a bogey on #4. Like the first par 5, Larry made another double on the 2nd one. He posted back to back bogeys on #6 & #7. The 8th hole cost him 4 strokes over the hole par with a quad. He finished on a positive note, notching a par on #9. Larry made (2) pars. Norm also came in a bit better than his last round, posting a (63).Norm got off to a rough start with a quad on #1, double on 2 and 5 strokes over the hole par on #3. He made a double on #4 and tripled #5, the 2nd par 5. After a double on the tough #6 hole, Norm made a bogey on the 2nd par three, hole #7.

The final two holes took 8 extra strokes over the hole pars as he posted back to back quads. Good try by both players in some tough rounds.

SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL PLAYERS IN THE LEAGUE: We have expanded the rules to allow all players to ‘fluff’ up their shots in the roughs. Please do not take advantage of this by moving it into a better position for the shot. This only means that you can remove it from holes, divots and off roots & bringing it up out of the deep grass in the rough. This does not allow you to move it from behind obstacles to better your lie. If it is reported that anyone is doing this, then we will stop everyone from ’fluffing’.
