BILL MARSACK & RON CORFIELD MAKE A HUGE DENT IN TIM WEIGEL & MATT ZUBERS LEAD AS THEY GAINED POINTS FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW AND NOW TRAIL BY 12 POINTS WITH 2 WEEKS REMAINING!!! Team #B7: Mike Kove (51) / Rand Hewitt (61): Mike continues his struggles to get back into the 40’s, coming in a few shots better than last week as he posts a (51).The opening two holes started his problems as he made a triple on 10 and double on 11.Mike seemed to recovery nicely on his next two holes, nailing back to back pars. The tough #14 bit into his round with a double, which was followed by another double on #15. One more bogey, this one on #16 before the bottom dropped out again. The final two holes cut into his round for an extra 6 strokes, as he made back to back triples. Mike notched (2) pars. Good try Mike. Rand continues to struggle to get his rounds down where they belong. Rand’s first three holes told the tale for most of his round. Rand sandwiched a double on #11 between quads posted on 10 & 12. After a bogey on #13, Rand took his
third quad of the round on #14, which was followed by a triple on #15. His final three holes were just as troublesome as the first three. Rand finished with a double and back to back triples for a round of (61). A valiant effort Rand.
Rand was at the golf course on Sunday afternoon and relayed to the writer he made some nice improvements to his play on a few tips that he was given. Team #B8: Bill Folson (Bk53) / Brian Hewitt (53): Bill was unable to play and a bank round of (53) was used last week. Brian has
posted his best round of the season coming in with a very nice round of (53).Brian opened with a double but followed with a bogey on #11. His next three holes cut into his round as the first par three cost him a triple. That was followed by back to back doubles. He stuck in a double on the par three 16th between bogeys on #15 & #17. The final hole did the rest of the damage, as he finished with a quad. Good effort and round Brian. Team #B1: Ken Kelchner (47) / Denny Obenauer (49): Ken & Denny continue to climb, moving up one spot in the standings to 5th as both played decent rounds. Ken fell off his nice round of 41 last week coming in with a (47). Ken got on a bogey run on his first 5 continued below left
MATT ZUBER LEADS THE ‘B’ FLIGHT PLAYERS INTO THE 19TH HOLE WITH THE BEST ROUND OF THE NIGHT A [45]. HONORABLE MENTION TO KEN KELCHNER (47) ~ ERNIE DANOS (50) ~ ERV ROCK (51) ~ LARRY BALL (51) ~ MIKE KOVE (51) !! holes. Ken broke the string of bogeys nailing a par on #15. He continued his next two holes with bogeys and then got bushwhacked by #9. There his round took a dive, as he posted a quad. Ken finished with (1) par in a decent round. Good effort Ken. Partner Denny comes into the watering hole with his second round under 50 in a row. Denny posts a (49) last week. He had some triple trouble on hole #10 to start his round. He doubled #11 and then posted a bogey on #12. Denny got bit by his second double on #13 and then leveled out some in
His next few holes. A bogey on 14 was followed by a par on 15. One more bogey, this one on #16. He finished with a final double on 17 and a bogey on #18. Denny notched (1) par. Nice round Denny. Team #B2: Bill Marsack (45) & Ron Corfield (55): Bill didn’t have his best round, but played decently and he and his partner Ron cut into the lead of Team #B4 for the second straight week. Bill didn’t do much with getting any pars, but he played bogey almost his entire round. Bill got on a bogey bus beginning on #10 and did not get off the bus until he reached the final
hole. There he made a double and a round of (45). Ron made great improvements in his round as he posts his best round of the season. Ron posted a triple on 10 followed by a quad on #11. He then made back to back doubles before getting clipped by back to back triples. Ron finished solidly as he made bogeys on hole #16, the #1 handicap hole on the back #17 and the tough finishing hole, the par 5 - 18th. Very nice finish on some tough holes Ron. Ron continues to show nice improvements in his play. Bill & Ron now trail 1st place by [12] points with two weeks remaining.
