TEAM #A6 (NATE HOOD & TREVOR VALLUS) INCREASE THEIR LEAD TO 13 POINTS OVER 2ND PLACE TEAM #A3 (ANDRE VIGER & KEN HUYGHE) AS THE 2ND POSITION ROUND MADE SOME CHANGES TO THE STANDINGS!!

Team #A8: Billy Alessandrini (49) & Doug Busam (49): Billy got his round back into the 40’s as he comes in with a 49 in week #9. Billy opened with a double on #1 and posted back to back bogeys on #2 & #3. He doubled the par three 4th and made a bogey on the 2nd par 5, hole #5. He finished with doubles on 6 & 8 and bogeys on 7 & 9. Partner Doug has now posted his last 5 rounds in the 40’s coming in with the same score as his partner, a 49. Doug also opened with a double on #1 and a bogey on #2. Hole number 4 bit him for his only triple. Like Billy, Doug also posted a double on #4. He made back to back bogeys on #5 & #6 and nailed his only par on #7.

Doug finished with a double on 8 and bogey on 9. Doug notched (1) par in his round. Good effort by both players for their rounds.

Team #A1: Brian DeRita (38) & Dom DeRita (39): Brian knocked off a

couple of strokes from the last time he played the front, coming in with a two over 38. Brian made a very nice par to start his round and quickly went 1 under with a birdie on #2.

After posting a bogey on #3, Brian notched back to back pars on 4 & 5.

Brian posted a bogey on #6 & notched pars on #7 & #9 sticking in a bogey on #8.

Brian finished with (5) pars and (1) birdie. Dominic continues to shoot well and comes in with a 3 over 39.

The first hole was the only hole to bite him for a double. He nailed pars on #2 & #3 and stuck his tee shot on the par three 4th to within a 5’.

There he knocked off one of the extra strokes on #1 with a birdie. He bogeyed the next two holes and

then his putter got hot.

He finished on a very nice note, with three straight pars.

Nice finish Dom. Dom notched (5) pars and (1) birdie. Nice rounds by both players who drop into 4th.

Team #A2: Pat Nellis (39) & Cory Routheaux (41): Pat continues to strike the ball well and comes in with a three over (39) in week 9.

Pat got off to a slow start as the posted back to back bogeys to start his round. Then Pat got into a groove, nailing pars on his next (5) holes. He stopped the run with a bogey on 8 and finished with a par on #9. Pat notched (6) pars in his round. Cory hasn’t had a low forties round this season, but came busting out with a very nice (41) last week. Cory started with bogeys on continued below left

THREE PLAYERS LEAD THE ‘A’ FLIGHT IN WITH THE BEST ROUNDS OF THE NIGHT (2 OVER 38’S)~#A1 BRIAN DERITA ~ #A3 ANDRE VIGER ~ #A4 RAY RESSLER HONORABLE MENTION TO DOM DERITA, GARY KWAPIK & PAT NELLIS WITH 39’S!! fhisirst four holes. He broke the string with pars on his next three holes, taking him to hole #8. He posted a bogey on 8 and finished with a solid par on 9. Cory finished with (4) pars in his round.

Nice rounds by both players who move up one spot, into 5th place after the 2nd position round. They have steadily moved up from near the bottom with some nice rounds.

Team #A3: Andre Viger (38) & Ken Huyghe (41): Andre and Ken both continue to play well, but were unable to make up any ground as they played the 1st place team and

dropped a close match that increased the first place teams lead to (13). Andre was hot right out of the gate, nailing pars on the first four holes. After a bogey on #5, Andre got back to making pars. He notched two more on hole #6 & #7.

He finished off his round with a bogey on 8 and a final par on 9.

Andre notched (7) pars in his two over round of (38). Ken fell off his round a bit with his last three being in the 30’s, came in with a (41) this week. Ken opened his round with three straight bogeys to get a slow start on his round. He nailed a birdie on #4 to knock off a stroke on his card. Ken just seemed

to be off just enough that his putts would not drop. He posted a bogey on the 2nd par 5 and drained a par on the tough #6 hole. After back to back bogeys on holes #7 & 8, Ken finished with a par on hole #9. Ken finished with (2) pars and (1) birdie in his round. Good shooting by both players who remain in 2nd place as we get ready to start the second half of play. Andre shares the best round honors with Ray Ressler & Brian DeRita.

Team #A4: Ray Ressler (38) & Gary Kwapik (39): Ray comes into the clubhouse with his best round of the season, sharing best round honors with (2) other players. Ray posted a double bogey on the first hole to get off to a poor start. He then got into a decent rhythm and nailed back to back pars on #2 & #3.

After nailing a 10’ birdie on #4, Ray went back to work making pars. He nailed three more taking him to #8.

Number 8 has seemed to plague a lot of player as Ray also posted a bogey. Ray finished with a par on #9.

Ray nailed (1) birdie to go with 6) pars. Gary rebounded from last weeks disappointing round, as he comes in with a three over (39). Gary bogeyed #1 and notched a par on #2. Gary got even as he nailed a birdie on #3, but went back to one by a triple on the first par 5. Nate then nailed back to back pars to help level out his round with some lower numbers. That didn’t last to long, as he posted back to back doubles. Nate finished with back to back bogeys to end his round on a low note. His partner, Trevor continues to play well and comes into the clubhouse with a nice round of (40). After an opening bogey, Trevor nailed pars on his next three holes. He bogeyed his way through holes #5 & #6, before getting back on track. He notched pars on #7 & #8 before tripping on the final hole with a bogey. Trevor notched (5) pars. Nice shooting by both players who remain in 1st place, now by (13) points.

Team #A5: Warren Hood (43) & Jim Turner (Bk Round 45): Pastor Hood went to Cleveland and they told him that he would have to have some type of surgery within the next 4 to 6 months, so he should be able to finish the season. Warren shaved 8 strokes off last weeks round as he came into the 19th hole with a (43). Warren played bogey golf for his first three holes and then the par three bit into his round with a triple. He Team #A7: Bill Gaunt (41) & Steve Ciaramitaro (50): Bill Gaunt finally got his round back down into the lower forties, coming in with a nice (41). Bill opened with a bogey and quickly got into a par groove. He nailed pars on #2, #3 & #4. He made a bogey on #5 and then got bit by his only double, posting that on #6. Bill then finished with a bogey on #8 stuck between pars on 7 & 9. Bill finished with (5) pars. Steve continues to improve, and comes in with his third lower fifties round in a row. Steve came in with a (50). Steve opened with a double, and followed that with a bogey on the par 5, 2nd hole. The third holed cut into his round with a quad. He nailed a par on #4 and bogeyed the 2nd par 5. Steve bookended triples on #6 and #9 with pars

then notched a par on the 2nd par 5 to help his struggling round to this point. He bogeyed the tough #6 hole and then got his round going again.

He finished strong with pars on his final three holes. Warren finished with (4) pars.

Pastor Turner was absent and a bank round of (45) was used to use against his opponent.

They actually move into a tie for 7th with team #A8.

Team #A6: Nate Hood (48) & Trevor Vallus (40): After a couple of lower 40’s rounds by Nate, he comes in with his second higher round in the 40’s posting a (48). His second 48 in a row. Nate got off to a slow start, posting an opening double followed continued below left stuck in the middle on #7 & #8.

Steve finished with (3) pars in h is round. Very nice shooting by both players in some decent rounds.

Crisp Chip Shots : Final Part IV: 4. Focus on the Impact: Make a smooth swing and literally stare at the clubface as it strikes the ball.

Solid contact is vital. Once you get a feel for making a crisp strike, you can shift your focus to the target.

MIKE KOVE’S BANK ROUND NETS HIM (12) POINTS HELPING HIS TEAM #B7 GAIN GROUND ON TEAM #B4 (TIM WEIGEL & MATT ZUBER) ~TEAM #7 TRAILS BY A SINGLE POINTS AS WE BEGIN THE 2ND HALF!!!

Team #B8: Bill Folson (Bk round 47) & Brian Hewitt (57): Bill is still out of the country visiting relatives and should be back next week. His bank round was used against his opponent. Brian was able to make it and comes into the clubhouse with a (57). Brian started with a double and posted a bogey on the first par 5. The 3rd hole stung him some as he posted a quad. The double was welcomed on #4 as the next par 5 drug his round down even more. It cost him 5 strokes over the hole par. After a triple on #6, Brian

settled down a bit. He finished with back to back bogeys and a final double on #9. Good try Brian.

Team #B1: Ken Kelchner (44) & Denny Obenauer (46): Both players seemed to have better weeks after a couple of tough ones. Ken leads the ‘B’ flight players in with the best round, notching a (44). Ken was one of the few players to start out his round with a par on #1. He got bit by a double on the first par 5 and followed that with a bogey on #3. Ken then nailed back to back pars on #4 & #5. He finished his round with a double on #6 and #8. He posted a

bogey on #7 and finished solid with a par on #9. Ken posted (3) pars.

Denny posted his best round of the season, coming in with a very nice (46). Denny got bit by an opening double and made a bogey on the 1st par 5. Hole #3 wasn’t very nice to his round either, as he posted a triple on his card. Denny nailed a very nice birdie on the first par three. He seemed to level out some, posting bogeys on #5 & 6. Denny nailed a par on #7 and finished with a bogey on 8 and double on 9.

Denny notched (1) par and (1) birdie in a decent round. Nice shooting by both players who move up a notch into 7th.

Team #B2: Bill Marsack (48) & Ron Corfield (60): Bill and Ron remain in 3rd, but gain some ground on the 1st place team and now only trail by 12 points heading into the 2nd half. Bill comes into the 19th hole with a (48), a stroke worse than last week. Bill had triple trouble on two of his first three holes. Bill

posted a triple on #1 & #3. He stuck in a bogey on #2. He then seemed to get into a bogey run, posting then on his next 3 holes.

He nailed his first of two pars on #7. He then finished with a double on #8 and par on #9. Bill notched (2) pars in his round. Ron knocked off three strokes from his round last week coming in with a (60).The opening two holes

hurt his round with 9 extra strokes over the hole pars. He nailed a very nice par on #3 and made bogey on #4. He then got clipped by a quad on #5 and triple on #6. One more bogey, this one on #7 and the final two holes did the balance of the damage to his round. He finished with back to back triples. Ron finished with (1) par. Good try by both players in some decent rounds.

KEN KELCHNER LEADS THE ‘B’ FLIGHT PLAYERS IN WITH THE BEST ROUND OF THE NIGHT WITH A (44)~DENNY OBENAUER POSTS A (46) FOLLOWED BY ERNIE DANOS & BILL MARSACK WITH (48’s) & LARRY BALL WITH A (51)!!

After three rounds in the 40’s, Larry has struggled to get back there as he posts his 2nd round in the 50’s, coming in with a (51). His first four holes told the tale as he posted (4) doubles in a row. The par 5 - 5th cut into his round with a triple. He made his 5th double on #6 and stuck in a par on

#7. One more double, this one on #8 and a final par on #9. Larry finished with (2) pars. Norm had his best round last week and fell back a bit this week, coming into the clubhouse with a (55). Norm opened with a triple on #1 and made a bogey on the 1st par 5. It was back to back doubles on #3 & #4 and then got bushwhacked by #5. Norm

took his second triple of the round. Norm then nailed back to back pars on the tough #6 and the 2nd par three. The final two holed did the balance of damage as he posted back to back quads. Norm notched (2) pars in his round. A valiant effort by both players who remain in 4th place after the 2nd position round.

Team #B4: Tim Weigel (62) & Matt Zuber (Bk round (52): Matt was under the weather and unable to attend the league night and a bank round of (52) was used against his opponent.

Tim was present and comes in with a (62) last week. His first three holes cost him 10 extra shots as he opened with a quad and followed with back to back triples. He made a double on the par three 4th and then posted triples on #5, 6 & 7. Tim finished with a quad on #8 and bogey on #9. Valiant effort by Tim. Matt and Tim remain in first place by a point over team #B7.

Team #B5: Ernie Danos (48) & Steve Fleck (55): Ernie continues to play much better, coming into the clubhouse with his second upper 40’s round in a row. Ernie posts a (48), one stroke more than last week.

Ernie nailed an opening par on #1 but then got stung by back to back doubles on 2 & 3. He nailed his second par on the par three 4th. A couple more doubles, holes #5 & 6 and another par on #7. Ernie finished with a final triple on #8 and a bogey on #9. Ernie notched (3) pars in his round. Steve remains in the mid 50’s, coming into the 19th hole with a (55).

Steve started his round with back to back doubles. He bogeyed his way through the next three holes, taking him to hole #6. Hole #6 clipped him for a quad. Steve finished with back to back doubles on 7 & 8 and a final quad on #9. A good try by Steve and nice round by Ernie.

Team #B6: Erv Rock (63) & JimLoughead (Bk round 54): Jim was not able to make league night and his bank round went up against another missing player (Bill Folson) bank round in position round #2. Erv was there and comes into the 19th hole with a (63). Erv started with a quad and then added back to back triples.

He made a bogey on #4 and then added back to back quads A bogey on #7 was followed by a quad on #8. Erv finished with a final double on #9. A valiant effort by Erv. Erv & Coach remain in 5th place.

Team #B7: Mike Kove (Bk round 51) & Rand Hewitt (57): Mike had surgery to remove the needle that was left in his back on Tuesday and the surgery was successful. He was

Still to sore to attempt to play in last weeks league night. Rand was able to make it and comes in with a 57 last week. Rand got off to a slow start, posting back to back triples to start. He seemed to get it back together and notched back to back bogeys.

His next two holes did a lot of damage.

He took a double on the 2nd par 5 but got bit by 6 extra shots on #6. He finished his round with a triple on #8 stuck between bogeys on #7 & #9. A valiant effort by Rand. Rand & Mike remain in 2nd place, but now are only one point out of 1st. The second half gets going tonight.
