Integration CZone™ is NMEA 2000 compliant and uses the standard micro cables and connectors. Being NMEA 2000 compliant you can have trust in the network. This also allows a single network backbone to be installed for multiple systems (CZone™ and other NMEA 2000 devices). Additionally, CZone™ can share certain monitoring functions with other NMEA 2000 compliant screens.

Configuration

CZone™, designed for 9-32V systems, features built-in timers, dimmers (including support for halogen lighting), alarms, voltage reducers and load shedding. With safety in mind, CZone™ features a manual bypass. Our No-Single-Failure-Point technology ensures a plug-n-play system that is designed to handle mishaps. If a module is damaged, the system will automatically program the replacement module when it is plugged in. This means any module can be replaced without using high tech service people. DC Wiring

Digital Control & Monitoring System CZone™ LCD Displays The CZone™ displays are the interface between the CZone™ network and the user. They offer full control of circuits as well as the ability to view important on board systems information such as tank levels and power levels (for both AC and DC supplies). They also provide audible and visual alarms with systems diagnostics. The displays are extremely intuitive to use with simple controls and a menu structure that is easy to follow. The “modes of operation” feature allows the control of multiple circuits with a single push of a button. For instance, “night running” mode turns pre-selected lights on to dim levels. These modes are all user configurable. They can be used to set CZone™ parameters for initial installation and future system maintenance (display interface only).

Output Interface The Output Interface (OI) provides an intelligent replacement for traditional circuit breaker and fuse panels. It has six high power, robust output channels which provide the power supply, control and fusing for a circuit as well as integrating many other built in features such as timers and dimmers. The OI is behind the CZone™ concept of decentralising the power distribution, compared to traditional electrical layouts which are typically based around a large, centralised circuit breaker or fuse panel. The OI’s allow the installer to move the circuit control and protection closer to the loads which significantly shortens cable runs and reduces the size of the conductors. This equates to a reduction in the cost and weight of the electrical wiring harness, ie. less copper. Connection to the unit is simple: a large 6 way plug allows connections to cables of up to 16mm2 (6AWG) in size, or multiple smaller conductors. No need for specialised crimp terminals and expensive crimp tools to be carried for terminations to CZone™, just a blade screwdriver. A protective flexible boot offers protection to the connections from harsh environments. The Motor Output Interface (MOI) has an output pair for controlling DC motors which require a reversal of polarity to change the direction of their mechanical operation. For example, a DC motor for an electric window mechanism will move the window up or down depending on the polarity of the feed to the motor. Historically the wiring and control circuitry for such installations is complicated and requires a number of individual components. Often controls for these devices are mounted remotely to the motor so wiring runs can be long. the MOI replaces all of these devices with one simple solution that can be mounted close to the motor further reducing cable runs. The MOI can be configured to deliver a “soft start” so that motor driven devices don’t start with a sudden and abrupt motion. The MOI also incorporates two standard output channels such as is found on the OI.

Meter Interface

ELECTRICAL

The Meter Interface (MI) accepts inputs from external AC and DC power metering sensors. It then processes and converts the analog signals into digital strings that can then be presented, by the display, to the user, as one of several, easy-to-understand formats such as: AC and DC voltage and amps, AC Kilowatts, DC battery capacity in amp hours and % remaining and all with user definable high and low alarms. Intelligence is built into CZone™. The MI can calculate AC voltage indicator the battery capacity as ampere hours and/or percentage of charge remaining. Since CZone™ provides both monitoring and control for DC systems, it can be configured to turn off non-essential circuits in DC voltage the event that the battery is discharged to a low level. Signal Interface The Signal Interface (SI) connects CZone™ to your external sensors, alarms and switching devices. The SI allows intelligent, automated operation of circuits depending on the state of the input. For example, the SI can be easily programmed to allow a fluid transfer pump and an alarm to turn on simultaneously when the SI detects that a low tank level has been reached. Connect standard switches to the SI to allow control of CZone™ outputs. The module provides LED status indications for each input. This allows fast diagnostics while providing information back to CZone’s™ display interface.

Switch Control Interface The Switch Control Interface (SCI) provides an interface between the CZone™ network and traditional mechanical switches that manufacturers and users are familiar with. This interface converts the signal from those switches into the Control Area Network (CAN) signal needed across a digital network. No need to change existing designs. Diagnostics are important. Fault codes are provided to quickly identify issues with the network or switches. Information is provided on the Switch Control Interface as well as sent to the CZone™ Display Interface. The SCI simplifies your wiring, supports your existing choice of switches, protects against failures and allows for expanding installation options. Backlighting and systems in operation lights are dimmable to ensure your night vision is not impared by bright lights on your control area, level control of these can be linked to the backlighting level of any Display Interfaces in close proximity of the SCI. Configuration Made Easy Historically, generating a configuration for and programming a system is a chore that requires a significant amount of training. The CZone™’s configuration tool offers simple, straightforward programming that is easy to learn and to use. The CZone™ configuration tool allows the manufacturer to set up programming parameters on a standard PC, (use USB CAN adapter 112902) upload a saved configuration into the CZone™ network and simultaneously program every interface on-board. Changes and customizations can also be made from the display interface and downloaded back to the PC overriding the master configuration. The master template file is now ready to go and can be used on multiple vessels or vehicles during manufacturing.

'Contour Cruiser' Circuit Breaker Panels - With Analogue or Digital Meters Circuit breaker panels with stylish curved front facia incorporating recesses for circuit breaker toggles preventing them from being switched on accidentally. Available with 12 or 24 volt analogue expanded scale metering with a three way selector switch or digital LCD. Digital panel functions include volts for up to three battery banks and current discharge/charge as well as ampere hours used and remaining for one bank. Digital panels are supplied with a 450 amp, 50 mv shunt. Analogue ammeters are supplied standard in 0-50 amp scale and include a 50 amp shunt module. Circuit Breaker Toggle Lock

Slide Lockout

Moulded black plastic, removable locking mechanism designed to prevent accidental or unintended actuation of essential circuit breakers from either the on or off position. As used on the BEP Battery Management panels, 113667-79. Suitable for use with breakers on Contour, Contour AC, Cruiser and Millenium breaker control panels. When installed, a breaker will still trip in the event of overload even with the lever locked in the on position.

Replacement slide lockout to suit double pole AC circuits on the BEP AC contour panels.

Contour 1000 Series The Contour 1000 Series, modular injection moulded plastic control panels provide an economical option to the Contour circuit breaker panels. Ideally suited for interior use on smaller sail boats or cruisers. The range consists of 6 gang switch panel, analogue voltmeter, analogue ammeter, digital DC monitor and a frame only. TS1 Ultrasonic Tank Sender The BEP TS1 is an ultrasonic tank sender unit that has no moving parts and can be used in fuel tanks (petrol or diesel), fresh water, grey water or black water tanks. The TS1 can be used on any shape tank with a minimum depth of 200mm and a maximum depth of 2m. The unit operates on the same principle as a depth sounder and can be configured to be used in conjunction with BEP, Veethree, Faria, VDO and many other analogue gauges from most popular instrument manufacturers (not to be used with electronic gauges). The TS1 has a standard SAE 5 hole mounting pattern and is supplied with sealing gasket, instruction leaflet and 2 year manufacturerâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s warranty. It is suitable for top mount installations only. The low profile sender unit can be fitted in metal or plastic tanks, and is resistant to petrol, diesel, water and toilet chemicals. It has a 10-32V operating range and an operating temperature range of 4-65Â°C. The TS1 sender unit is available in 2 configurations; 1. 113060 - TS1 sender unit non programmed. Suitable for OEM's wishing to program their own units (113362 required). 2. 113361 - For retail sales, the TS1 is available as a fully programmed unit. Information relating to tank shape, size, fluid type and gauge type must be forwarded to BLA on the corresponding paper work available from the bla.com.au web site or from your BLA Territory Manager. To complement the TS1 sender, BEP produce the DCSM (113386 page 73), enabling the user to view tank level information for multiple tanks in numeric and graphic forms. An economical tank monitor for fresh water or grey water tanks. It is recommended for use with plastic or fibreglass tanks only. Supplied with one sender kit. Self Contained Gas Detector

These gas detectors have the capability to control two sensors which detect both LPG and petrol, with visual and audible alarms. Features include test switch to check operation of sensors as well as outputs for external audible alarm and bilge blower operation. Units are supplied standard with one sensor with five metre lead. The 113122 detector also has an LPG shut off feature that shuts off gas supply when in alarm mode. An on/off button is also incorporated to control gas supply remotely. This is achieved through a pulse and hold output that is connected to the 113137/8 LPG shut off solenoid which is purchased seperately. The pulse and hold circuitry incorporated in the 113122 detector pulls the valve in at 12 volts and then, once energised, will step down the voltage whilst still holding the valve open. This reduces power consumption and heat generation while the gas is on.

Just connect power and you have a fully operational gas detector. The sensor is incorporated into the facia. Designed for surface mounting at the lowest point of area being monitored. Detects LPG and petrol. Panel mounted self test button and sensor status light confirm functionality. Commonly used in caravans and RV’s. VSR Voltage Sensitive Relay The Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) allows two batteries to be charged at the same time. It will automatically prioritise the charging of the start battery in twin battery systems. When the engine is first started the relay is open and remains open until the start battery has reached a preset 13.7 volts for 12 volts - 27.4 volts for 24 volts. At the rated voltage the relay closes providing charge to both batteries (start and house). When the voltage drops below 12.8 volts (when the engine is stopped), the VSR disengages, separating the batteries. This system eliminates the possibility of draining the start battery and protects electronics powered by the house battery from harmful engine starting spikes. A VSR has no voltage drop as opposed to conventional charge diode isolators. Surface mounted, 5mm roundhead screws. A dual sensing VSR is also available. This model allows the unit to sense the voltage of both batteries that it is connected between. If either battery is receiving a charge, the VSR will activate, parallelling the two battery banks. It is designed for applications where a battery charger or second charging source is connected into the house battery. Remote Operated VSR's Dual sensor remote operated voltage sensitive relays with emergency parallel funciton available in two capacities and 12 or 24 VDC.The VSR will engage when the voltage on either start or house battery reaches 13.7 volts. If the combined battery voltage drops below 13.0 volts and the engine is not running, after 5 seconds the contacts will open and stay open until the start or house battery voltage is exceeds 13.7 volts. If the combined battery voltage drops below 12.2 volts and the engine is running, after 5 minutes the contacts will open and stay open until the start or house battery voltage is greater than 13.7 volts. If voltage drops below 13 volts and stays above 12.2 volts on either start or house battery while the engine is running, the VSR will stay engaged. The VSR's can be operated through a momentary switch (113545) on the dash which will parallel the batteries for a preset time of 10 minutes. Once the 10 minutes has passed, if the voltage is high enough for the voltage sensitve switch to operate, it will stay engaged. If not, it will disengage. The advantages of using a remote operated VSR is that it will cover your dual battery charging requirements and emergency parallel operation in one unit.

Through panel mount battery master switch with removable threaded ring allows for fast installation in panel thicknesses up to 19mm. Control knob cannot be removed whilst in the On or Off position, but is removable at an anti-theft position at 45º past the off position. This system is designed to provide automatic battery management for twin outboard installations using outboards without AUX outputs. It is a pre-assembled module with solid links and application labels. Provides independent isolation of port start, starboard start and house batteries with the ability to emergency parallel both starting batteries, combined with a 125 amp VSR connected to each engine. It will control the port engine to charge the port start battery first and then the house battery when the port start battery is fully charged. It will also control the starboard engine to charge the starboard start battery first and then charge the house battery when the starboard start battery is fully charged, giving a combined charge from both engines to the house battery until the voltage regulators of both engines control the charge. It will also allow the house battery to be charged if running on one engine.

The Contour Distribution Stud allows termination of heavy duty cables for one or more connections. Removable side plates allow for connections from all sides. Designed to match all other Contour power distribution products with modular sizing and lock mouldings to facilitate easy grouping. Meets ABYC standards for exposed terminals. A secondary buss may be fitted to the distribution stud to provide connections for smaller wires without cluttering the main stud (refer 113562 below).

The Contour Distribution Buss allows multiple terminations of heavy duty negative or positive connections. Removable side plates allow for connections from all sides. Miniature Circuit Breakers

Airpax® magnetic circuit breakers are current sensing devices employing a time proven hydraulic magnetic design. They are temperature stable and the hydraulic-magnetic sensing mechanism reacts only to changes of current. There is no warm up or cool down period to slow response. VDE approved and UL recognised.

For installations in Australia and New Zealand to comply with AS/NZ3004, an approved double pole mains circuit breaker must be mounted upstream of the BEP control panel in the form of an RCD or MCB. An MCB (miniature circuit breaker) is an automatic electric switch that is designed to protect damage to an electrical circuit caused by an overload or short circuit. Unlike a fuse that operates only once and then needs 113596 to be replaced, a circuit breaker can be reset to resume normal operation after the fault has been rectified.

A residual current device is designed to disconnect a circuit whenever it detects an imbalance between the energized conductor and the return neutral conductor. Such an imbalance can be caused by current leakage through the body of a person who is grounded and touching an energized part of the circuit. A lethal shock can result from these conditions. RCDs are designed to prevent electrocution by detecting the leakage current, which can be far smaller (typically 5-30 milliamperes) than the currents needed to operate conventional circuit breakers or fuses. The Vector Movement The heart of all Veethree electrical instruments is the vector air-core movement. This simple, durable movement was pioneered by Veethree for marine use and is featured in every electrical instrument. The Vector movement utilises a permanent magnet that is rotated magnetically in an electrical field. All coil windings and attachments are designed to withstand extremes in vibration, temperature, humidity, salt spray, etc. Electrical studs are tin plated to aid in solderability and to minimise corrosion in the marine environment. All coils are placed in an annealed metal bobbin can to prevent the gauge from affecting compasses and other electronic equipment. At the same time, the bobbin can protects the gauges from other negative magnetic effects often found in a wiring harness.

24 volt gauge conversions

12 Volt Tank Senders

Veethree engine gauges require the addition of a drop resister and 24 volt bulb when used with a 24 volt power supply. A green bulb filter is also available as an option for 12 or 24 volt bulbs.

These 10 Ohm to 180Ohm liquid senders are level indicating devices compatible with VDO and Faria type petrol and water level gauges. Manufactured from AISI316 stainless steel with a watertight rating of IP687 they are suitable for fuel, sea water and are acid resistant. The sender top flange has an international standard five hole pattern and is supplied with sealing gasket, terminal ends, stainless steel fasteners and instructions.

The new MK110PA portable marine battery charger is designed to deliver a precise, proper charge to marine batteries without over or under charging as is often the case with standard automotive battery chargers. It utilises a multi-stage charging system; a feature not found on most portable chargers, to charge up to 50% faster than a single stage (bulk) 10amp portable charger, while properly protecting the batteries. Over charging can damage the useful life of the battery. Likewise under charging over time, will reduce the discharge time and shorten the battery life as much as 20%. The fully automatic charging system utilises bulk, absorption and maintenance cycles. It delivers 10 amps maximum charge in bulk mode until the voltage reaches the absorption level, at which point the charger varies the power output to maintain voltage. Once the power output drops to a preset level the charger goes into maintenance mode maintaining the voltage at a lower level. An LED display indicates power on, charging, full charge and check connection. The unit features short circuit and reverse polarity protection, a safety feature which prevents the charger from operating if improperly connected to the battery. It is suitable for use with 12V/6 cell batteries which are flooded wet cell, maintenance free or AGM type only.

Available in two models to suit single or dual battery bank installations and provide fully automatic, multi-stage charging to properly maintain the batteries. By controlling the current and voltage during the charging cycle, Minn Kota chargers recharge faster than conventional automotive battery chargers while preventing over charging which can damage and shorten battery life. They include an automatic temperature compensation feature that adjusts the output voltage to assure the battery reaches its gassing threshold and achieves a full charge. - SBC ADV Plus Medium Power

These switch mode battery chargers provide high level performance, automatic three stage (bulk, absorption, float) charging to most types of marine batteries. The bulk charging phase occurs when the batteries require more current than the charger can supply, i.e. when the batteries are low or when a high load is connected. The absorption phase occurs when the charger provides the input current required to maintain the batteries at a constant absorption voltage. When the current required is less than 20% of the maximum charger output value, the charger will change to the float phase. In float phase, the battery charger outputs the current required to maintain the batteries at a constant float voltage. In this phase, as the batteries reach maximum capacity they will absorb close to zero amps. This float mode allows the batteries to be on charge without the risk of overloading. When the current required exceeds 20% of the maximum output, the charger returns to the absorption mode. A user set charge selector switch changes charging outputs to suit liquid, AGM or gel electrolyte batteries. Multiple, independently fused outputs to charge up to three batteries or banks of batteries via a master and slave system. These chargers are compatible with most generator outputs and may be used as a power supply without batteries. They have the ability to provide a full power output even with a low supply voltage and produce a low residual fluctuation (ripple lower than 30mV RMS). The universal AC supply voltage makes them ideal for vessels travelling internationally. Features include protection for output short circuit, overloading, output over voltage and overheating. Quick battery chargers are capable of full power output in ambient temperatures from -20º to 50º C. Cooling is provided by an automatic, variable speed fan. The control panel combines three LED’s and LCD display to monitor input power status, output status, output phase and error status with multiple coded messages. Polished stainless steel and plastic case. A DB9 connector provides connection for the optional remote display panel via a CAN-BUS data transfer interface.

Waterproof Pre-insulated Joiners Unique range of sealed, waterproof crimp terminals are the perfect solution for single wire terminations in corrosive or marine environments. The tin plated copper terminals feature a tough, heat shrinkable, adhesive lined, colour coded insulation. After completion of the standard crimping process, the terminal insulation is then heated with a heat gun or small gas torch. Within seconds, the terminal insulation then shrinks and the internal adhesive sealant melts and flows to provide a permanent seal and bond to the wire insulation.

In addition to the advantages of standard Seamaster aerials, the 'Pro' series features NCK connectors in the antenna ferrule and mount. The whip simply unscrews for removal without requiring cable disconnection. Pacific’s Pro Series antennas and mounts have been subject to rigorous electrical and mechanical testing, from tens of thousands of cycles on an antenna ‘breaker' to complete submersion for a fortnight. Pro Series antennas and mounts have passed the International Standard for salt mist exposure (IEC 68-2-52).

Pro transceiver bases are fitted with a 5 metre lead with fast fit plug requiring only a 9mm cable hole and ensuring a reliable electrical connection without solder. the fast fit plug suits virtually all 27 MHz, VHF, UHF transceivers and most digital mobile phone dash mounted hands free kits. Pro am/fm bases are fitted with a 5 metre lead and an automotive style aerial plug for radio connection. Heavy duty bases are recommended with Longreach Pro whips.

Automatic Identification System (AIS) Aerials Automatic Identification System (AIS) is a marine tracking system used for identifying and locating vessels by electronically exchanging data with other nearby ships and vessels. The AIS unit uses a standardised VHF transceiver to broadcast the vessel’s unique position, course, speed and name which can be displayed on screen in real time. AIS is intended to assist vessels in identifying and allow maritime authorities to track and monitor vessel movements. The frequencies used by AIS to transmit and receive this data are higher than marine VHF frequencies, so using a marine VHF antenna with an AIS unit will compromise the performance of the system, as will the use of a ‘splitter’ to run VHF and AIS from the one antenna. Using a dedicated AIS antenna ensures the best possible transmission and reception range, and maximizes your safety.
