Since 1970, SouthWood has provided turn-key signage services for clients across the US, Caribbean, and beyond. We are a veteran owned full-service sign company that employees over 60 team members and craftsmen in our 65,000 square foot facility located in Rock Hill, SC. Our goal for every project is to implement a streamlined signage program that is consistent throughout, tailored to each location’s specific architecture and environment, and designed to be a functional and attractive enhancement to the property. We use a wide variety of signage materials and manufacturing processes, and our long history and vast experience have given us the knowledge to find the right solution for every client, every look, and every budget. Our team has an average tenure of 10 years, with several employees reaching 30-40 years with SouthWood. The tenure of our team and the longevity of our company allows us to provide our clients with an incredibly deep skill set and quality product. SouthWood is a fully turn-key signage operation. Our team of sixty consists of designers, painters, metalworkers, printers, permitters, planners and installers. Despite so many working parts, we all function as one, maximizing our continuity, resulting in a superior product.
Manufacturing happens in our 65,000 square-foot facility in Rock Hill, SC. Each project happens under one roof, resulting in a streamlined process. This allows us to keep consistent pricing, meet or exceed expectations and always deliver on-schedule.

The Bowl at Ballantyne™ is Ballantyne area’s new living room, kitchen and concert hall, filling the gap between work and home with opportunities for culinary exploration, world-class shopping, family-friendly entertainment and healthy living. Our team worked in partnership with 505Design at Cooper Cary to complete two unique monument signs, and are underway with interior wayfinding, and amphitheatre signage. The custom monumental signage required careful craftsmanship from fabrication to install. Significant preplanning measures are in progress for the unique wayfinding, including a mockup to ensure quality.
Project Name: The Line
The Line is a multi-use space in the heart of South End that will be home to local staples as well as new businesses in Charlotte, NC.
SouthWood was selected to fabricate and install all signage and environmental graphics for a unique 12 acre mixed-use development by Crosland Southeast, in partnership with Nuveen Real Estate. The environmental graphics package was designed by 505Design who have been collaborating with our team on the multiple exterior and interior customs sign types that will be install in 2024. We are currently in prototype review with our client. Our talented team is mastering faux corten painting techniques and industrial fabrication methods to connect with the restored vintage buildings on site.
We are thrilled to work with RSM Design and White Point Partners on the exciting HUB RTP project, situated in the heart of the Research Triangle Park in Raleigh, NC. SouthWood is working to bring to life RSM Design’s modern wayfinding signage concepts for Park Center and Horseshoe RTP including retail, parking, and commercial products. Horseshoe RTP, positioned at the center of HUB RTP, is a thriving urban district that offers a walkable environment brimming with vibrant experiences. It boasts 38,580 square feet of restaurant and retail space, along with an impressive 119,065 square feet of office space, creating a dynamic and engaging atmosphere for all. The project is on track for completion in the summer of 2024.
EchoPark, a brand under Sonic Automotive based in Charlotte, NC, has partnered with SouthWood on exterior signage for 35+ of their locations nationally. EchoPark is a leader in the used car space and provides a hassle-free car buying/ selling experience for their clients. EchoPark’s unique, clean branding represents a modern and inviting experience for their clients. Focusing primarily on their exterior signage and wayfinding, our teams have created retail environments for guests and employees to navigate facilities with ease. Our ongoing partnership in EchoPark’s expansion is represented with stores in AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, KY, LA, MD, MO, NC, NV, NY, OK, SC, TN, TX, and UT markets to date.
Project Name: Honeywell Headquarters
The engagement of SouthWood by Gilbane to design and craft the top-of-tower channel letter set for the Honeywell building in uptown Charlotte, NC, marks a significant achievement. Honeywell’s choice to relocate to Charlotte not only reaffirms the city’s status as a thriving corporate hub in the southeast United States but also integrates the company into the region’s prominent business community. SouthWood takes pride in contributing to Charlotte’s ongoing growth and business development.
Atrium Health has trusted SouthWood Corporation with designing, building, and updating all of their signage and wayfinding needs. With over 1,400 locations, managing updates, general services, and rebrands is no small undertaking. As SouthWood expands their relationship with Atrium, it has given our team the expertise to not only meet the demand, but grow our unique skill sets to deliver quality products in the healthcare industry.
Working closely with Asana Partners, we created a clear wayfinding and exterior signage system that allowed visitors, shoppers and diners to easily find their destination. The signage we created is easy to read, easy to update, and features a clean and modern design befitting of its Design District moniker. The Design Center has become one of the centers of gravity for Charlotte’s exciting South End District, and we are proud that we had the opportunity to create memorable signage for the project.
Project Name: Courtyard & Springhill by Marriott

SouthWood played a significant role in creating captivating signage for Smoky Hollow, a vibrant mixed-use development in Raleigh, NC, spearheaded by developers and designers to revitalize the area with residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. Drawing upon their expertise in design and fabrication, SouthWood’s cohesive and visually appealing signage perfectly complemented the distinct character of Smoky Hollow’s modern urban environment.
We are absolutely thrilled to be the architectural signage team for the new Charlotte Football Club’s headquarters. We partnered with Rodgers Builders and Tepper Sports & Entertainment to build and install the entire signage program throughout the stadium.
Working closely with the incredible design team at LendingTree we helped brand their new Headquarters in the South End neighborhood of Charlotte. What resulted was some of the most unique signage we’ve created to date. Each floor of the building had pop culture themes for the meeting rooms and offices, and we produced window vinyl to name each one. We installed wall vinyl that included branding, inspirational messages, local themes, selfie opportunities and more. We fabricated hall of honor signage and ADA signage for some of the most unique rooms, including a library, a sound booth, a recording studio and more.

Towering 350 feet above the street the Lowe’s Tech Hub sign crowns the South End neighborhood. The top of tower signs are 14 feet tall and 36 feet wide and weigh 1500 pounds. These signs and the front canopy signs were just the first signs that were installed on the home improvement giant’s new urban tower, and we will be providing interior, exterior, wayfinding and parking deck signage for the project.

Fortune 500 company, Industrious, contains a nationwide network of 100+ co-working spaces with locations now in Charlotte. We worked closely with Asana Partners on the planning, execution, and installation of the exterior signage on the building. Our scope of work included address numbers, reverse lit channel letters, and faux neon channel letters.
The Ballantyne neighborhood in South Charlotte is among the largest and most successful master planned communities in the Nation. The area went from rolling farmland and hunting reserve to a fully self-sufficient suburban sub-market. A few years back, owner/developer Bissell Cos. were looking to shift from its more traditional styling to attract younger and more creative workers and companies. That plan included the hip, and contemporary hotel brand Aloft. SouthWood created monument signage, wayfinding, ADA, top of Tower, and directional signage.
For years, SouthWood has maintained a steadfast partnership with Sandals, culminating in their latest collaboration at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. With the resort undergoing a meticulous remodeling, SouthWood was approached to seamlessly revitalize the signage for this location. This undertaking goes hand in hand with ongoing brand updates that underscore notions of opulence, a strong brand ethos, and the inimitable essence of the Sandals experience. This harmonious convergence of design and branding aims to further elevate the resort’s standing within the luxury hospitality landscape.
