As many Kimberley residents are aware, Council has committed the land where Bavarian Esso stood to a new Veterans Memorial Park, complete with a new location for the cenotaph. This week, Council approved the erection of a sign announcing the project, to raise awareness and help with fundraising. The City of Kimberley has reached a settlement with the contractor Copcan, who was the general contractor on the flume rehab project. A payment of $250,000 has been awarded to the contractor, which had been seeking $560,000 from the City. See CITY, page 3
