Here’s how the Bavarian Iron Legs works. First you downhill ski, then you cross-country ski, then you run down to the Platzl, then you bike back up. And neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow could keep competitors from doing just that this past Saturday at the Kimberley Alpine Resort. See more, page 4.

CR ANBROOK RCMP
Arson is suspected after an early Sunday morning fire. Police are seeking witnesses and identification of the suspects who set a stolen vehicle on fire outside Amy Woodland School. On March 15th at approximately 8 a.m. two males were seen setting a vehicle on fire outside of the school on 6th St S in Cranbrook, BC. The males were witnessed fleeing the scene, then returning to ensure the vehicle continued to burn. A good Samaritan witnessing this crime in
progress obtained photos of the two as they fled the scene. In of the photographs a male is seen wearing white pants and a black hoodie. The 2011 Ford Escape which was set ablaze had been stolen during the early hours of the morning. Cranbrook RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying these two males. If you have any information on the identity of these suspects, please contact the Cranbrook RCMP detachment or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS)
A passer-by took this photo of the two suspects.

There is plenty of great hockey news in hockey-mad Kimberley this week. First, the Dynamiters are making a deep run in the KIJHL playoffs. Second, there is a PeeWee Provincial championship underway right now (do stop by the Civic Centre and catch a game). And third, a local girl, Natasha Singer, has just won the Junior Women’s Hockey League championship with her team, the Warner Hockey School out of Warner, Alberta. The finals were played in Buffalo, New York. See Page 4 Natasha Singer
