Fast action at Youth Soccer
2014 CCNA
This fall Barriere Youth Soccer has renewed its rivalry with Clearwater through some friendly soccer matches. Each community is hosting two game days to allow youth ages seven to 12 years to experience all that is entailed on game day. Thanks to the efforts of coaches, volunteers and community members who help to make soccer in Barriere a success, the last game day will be hosted in Barriere at the Ridge on Oct. 4.

a dedicated and hard working Barriere Lion’s Club member for over 43 years. “This man has served on the executive as president, senior bar chairman for over 20 years, and has always participated in the club’s functions, from flipping pancakes to building washrooms at the North Thompson Fall Fair, to book sales, to splitting firewood in the bitter cold and being too stubborn to go home and put on warmer boots!” said Stamer. “This Lions member has shown his commitment to the Lions Club by also sponsoring more than 25 new members into ...continued on page 7 Ward Stamer stands with Ken Popp, a Barriere Lions Club member of 43 years, in front of the gazebo in Fadear Park that was dedicated in Popp’s name last Saturday.
