Wayward Pines crew returning TV series set will be backdrop at Canada Day celebrations Jessica Peters THE OBSERVER
Wayward Pines has not finished filming, and the downtown Agassiz television filming set will remain in place until after Canada Day. That news was announced earlier this week, when location manager for WWP Productions, David Tamkin, placed an ad in this newspaper detailing their planned filming activities and teardown
schedule. They will require one to two more days of filming to complete the series, and that can't happen until the actors' schedules allows. That will be the week of June 23-27, Tamkin said. The television series has been in production since the fall of 2013, with all of the outdoor scenes being shot on the commercial portion of Pioneer Avenue in Agassiz.

Originally, the film company's plan was to have the set removed in May, with a full restoration of the park completed before the summer. However, there was also a caveat that the set would not be removed

until they had received final approval from the studio. The refilming will take place the week of June 23 to 27, and they will start to tear down the set on July 2. That means the set will remain in place during Canada Day celebrations, typically a busy day in the park with activities throughout the day.
