Teaching multiplication tables — times four — is hard enough at the best of times. For the Hrychiw family, the challenge of raising quadruplets is amplified because two of them have been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. “We should buy a lottery ticket, right?” quipped mom Deborah. Ten years ago, Kamloops welcomed Isaac, Eli, Judah and Rose Promise Hrychiw with excitement as they entered the world. Today, the siblings share the same Grade 4 class at Kamloops Christian School and a love for Mom’s mac n’ cheese. The boys also share a bedroom in the family’s Juniper home. The siblings share a lot of things — but they also have their differences. Similar in height, three of the kids have mom’s big blue eyes, but Isaac has hazel eyes, like dad. Isaac’s hair is also different from that of Judah and Rose Promise — more red, while Eli is blond with freckles. Looks aside, they won’t agree on a favourite colour — red, blue, green and pink — and they all have different callings. X See FAMILY A6
