New fund for Community Foundation New endowment in honour of Theresa Cundiff C AROLYN GR ANT editor@dailybulletin.ca

The Kimberley & District Community Foundation and the community at large suffered a great loss in 2013, with the death of a long time director, Theresa Cundiff. “Theresa is remembered as a wonderful elementary educator who worked for over 30 years in the Kimberley School District,” said the

Foundation’s Terry Oscarson. “Her warm and caring attitude endeared her to her students and parents alike. “As a Board member of the KDCF, she worked with enthusiasm and compassion as the Chair of the Granting Committee. She was committed to ensuring that community organizations received the funding required to be successful. Her passion for Kimberley and its residents was truly evident in all her interactions. She was an avid supporter of the arts and a keen participant in recreational activities.”

Mayhem in the Platzl C AROLYN GR ANT editor@dailybulletin.ca

As those who organize First Saturdays in Kimberley found out this past summer, if you offer a bit of music and a bit of action in the Platzl, people will come. So why not pull off an event in winter as well? On Saturday, February 15, from 6 to 9 p.m., the Sister Shred Team will host a rail jam in the Platzl. The rail jam will be set up on the Deer Park Avenue. And in addition to some crazy stunts on skis and boards, there will be a fashion show in the old Fields store, featuring Kimberley’s fabulous designers and shops.
