City aglow with Christmas light displays A number of Abbotsford and Mission homes are now sparkling for the holidays. Here is a list of some of the Christmas light displays that can be viewed, as supplied to The News by homeowners. 3856 Balsam Cres. The Loewen family’s house features thousands of lights, blow-up figurines, and reindeer. They have also decorated with unique homemade characters such as the Grinch. Cindy Lou, Snoopy and more. Open nightly from 4 to 10 p.m. until Jan. 1. 32270 George Ferguson Way Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service’s Fire Hall 1 has been decorated with hundreds of lights. Several handmade frames include a replica of Engine 1, a ladder truck that protects the city core. 33232 Keats Court and 1675 Keats St. The homes of Mel and MaryAnne Myhre and Rick and Lorraine Sempowich feature displays that include stars, wreaths, lighted bushes, Santa and his sleigh and reindeer, and thousands of lights. View nightly from 5 to 11 p.m. until Dec. 31. 32895 Harwood Place The Keis family hosts a 20,000-light display including a life-size nativity and carolers, winter wonderland figurines, an animated sleigh, a snowman and bell and other pieces. Open nightly from 5 to 10 p.m. 33385 Townshipline Rd. This property features one of the largest and longest standing displays in Abbotsford, covering two acres on the Matsqui flats. Too many lights to count and more than 100 figurines and rare items. Open nightly from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. until Jan. 1. 27862 Whistle Drive The Davison family has just started a big display, which they plan to grow over the years. It includes a collection of candy canes, Santa’s snowmen and more. 34229 Woodbine Cres. Large palm trees

and many other items decorate the home of Ron and Dianne Por from 4 p.m. to midnight daily until Jan. 5. Several other homes on the street are decorated with

twinkling lights and holiday characters. Exbury Court and Exbury Place Several homes in this neighbourhood participate in decorating their homes for the holidays. Lots

of lights, blow-up characters, handpainted wood decorations and an angel silhouette. Creekside Cats, 4290 Wright St. in Clayburn Village This display, start-

ed by staff member James Reinheller, 16, features thousands of lights on tree, shrubs and outbuildings and decorations. The property’s historical farm equipment is

incorporated into the display. 1566 Tracey St. The Suderman family has a colourful display that is open daily from 4:30 p.m.. to midnight until Jan. 2.
