BC Coroners Service has identified the Slocan Valley teens who were killed in a motor vehicle accident near Moyie on Thursday afternoon. The female was Lyla-Maria Arcilla Mortensen, 18, of Slocan, and the male was Joel William Drew Franklin, 19, from Winlaw. Mortenson was driving with Franklin in the passenger seat when they lost control of the vehicle and collided with a pickup truck on highway 3/95 about 24 kilometres southwest of Cranbrook. Both were deceased at the scene.
