The Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation provides funding for equipment and services at NRGH, Dufferin Place Extended Care Facility (Nanaimo), Trillium Lodge (Parksville), and Eagle Park Health Care Facility (Qualicum Beach). NRGH is the primary care facility for the communities identified on the map; it is also designated “regional referral hospital” for all areas north of the Malahat.
Greetings from the Foundation! Happy 35th! The Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation turned a respectable thirty-five years old this year. In addition, the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH) celebrated its 50th year in operation! In fact we have reached many milestones in 2013 and would like to recognize your generosity, hard work, and commitment to healthcare; you made it possible! It is time that we stand back and realize what we have created together since our first fiscal year in 1977-1978, when our charitable status was awarded and we began to build an organization based on integrity and ethical standards second-to-none.

With your help, 2013 marked the 20th Anniversary of Lotto for Life, the 10th Anniversary of Run for Life, and Golf for Life celebrated its 20th year in September. We can never say it enough, “Thank You!” Your support, your belief in our purpose, and your generosity makes our work possible. Moreover, your precious funds purchase lifesaving equipment for Central Island Facilities. Which brings us to yet more exciting news; we are pleased to report that with your donations and pledges we have reached our goal of $4 million for the purchase of equipment in the New Emergency Department at NRGH. We announced our goal four years ago and together we made it happen. This is your gift to the people of Central Vancouver Island, the priceless possibility of healthcare excellence close to home. Thank you! Sincerely, Christine McAuley Board Chair
