n RCMP investigators were at the scene of a fatal incident that took place in the early morning hours Wednesday on Main Street in Sicamous. Police found a 49-year-old Sicamous man severely injured. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police believe a vehicle may have been involved in the death of a 49-yearold Sicamous man who was found injured on Main Street in Sicamous early Wednesday morning. Sicamous RCMP, with help from Salmon Arm RCMP’s general investiga-
tion section, Revelstoke’s forensic identification unit, traffic services and a traffic accident reconstructionist, are investigating the death, which is believed to have occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. Sicamous Sgt. Dave Dubnyk reports that an officer on patrol that night found the body of a severely injured man lying on

Main Street. The man was rushed to Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm, where he died from his injuries. The man’s identity is not being released until next of kin have been notified. Dubnyk says a vehicle is believed to have been involved in the accident, and alcohol is believed to have been a factor.

He said police have all the available surveillance video from the area surrounding the incident and are seeking persons of interest. Dubnyk also asks anyone who may have witnessed anything related to the incident to contact the Sicamous detachment at 250-836-2878, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-2228477.
