Obituaries George Kusiak April 24, 1924 ~ August 5, 2013
George Kusiak passed away August 5, 2013 at the Creston Valley Hospital due to a stroke, at the age of 89 years. George was born to Olga and Stefan Kusiak on April 24, 1924 at Kzaza, Ukraine, where he received his formal education. George Áed the Ukraine at the age of 17 for Germany, where he spent 10 years and met the love of his life Magdelena Eisele. The couple married and started the family with Ludwig, Klaus and Gerti before immigrating to Canada in 1951, settling in Winnipeg. The family continued to grow with the addition of Monica, Irene and John. He worked as a mechanic's helper and in the construction trade. In 1964, he moved the family to Erickson, rounding the family off with Linda. He continued in the construction trade, starting his own company after several years. George loved Àshing, planting the garden, winemaking and enjoyed the Royal Canadian Legion Br#29. He was predeceased by his wife Mary Magdelena, daughter Gerti and son Klaus. George will sadly missed by his sons Ludwig and John; daughters Monica, Irene and Linda; grandchildren Terri, Nadine, Serena; and great-grandchildren Sasha, Lance, Giles, Lincoln, Markis and Serena. The Funeral Mass was held on Monday August 12, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Tom Kakkaniyil celebrant. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC Friends wishing to make a memorial tribute may do so to the Heart & Stroke Foundation 200 – 1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6H 3V2

Harley Leroy Edeburn was born April 25, 1936. He passed away July 16, 2013 at 77 years of age. He was predeceased by his parents Shirley and Oren Edeburn, and his sister Morna Bushaw. He is survived by son Benjamin Edeburn (Grand Forks, BC); daughter Loretta Huscroft (Creston, BC); two grandsons, Colten Huscroft (Creston, BC) and Jordan Huscroft (Vancouver, BC); son Kent Edeburn (Edmonton, AB); daughter Sophie Edeburn (Calgary, AB); brother Lorne Edeburn and wife Claire (Salmo BC); brother Brian Edeburn and wife Bonnie (Cranbrook, BC); sister Tammy Gutziet (Revelstoke, BC). He is also survived by his fourth wife, Laurie Edeburn (Grand Forks, BC). An Interment of Ashes will be held in Ashmont, AB in 2014.
Walter Luscher June 21, 1928 ~ August 9, 2013
Walter Luscher passed away at Creston Valley Hospital on August 9, 2013 and was reunited with his sweetheart, Mae. Walter was born June 21, 1928 in Muhen, Aargau, Switzerland to Adolf Luscher and Freida Bertha Baumann. Following his immigration to Canada in 1948, Walter joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served a mission to Germany. While on his mission, he met the love of his life, Mae Lucille Bressler. Walter and Mae married in the Idaho Falls, Idaho temple and settled in Cardston, Alberta, later moving to Salmo, then Creston, BC. Over the course of his life, Walter engaged in many ventures including: farm hand, lumberjack, truck driver, store owner, orchard manager and his greatest passion, his farm. He has always been involved in church and community with a special love for Boy Scouts. The way he lived his life e[empliÀed his faithfulness and devotion to the Lord which inspired many. Walter is survived by his son Tim (Janell) of South Jordan, Utah, (grandchildren Ashley, Whitney, Heidi); daughter-in-law Casey Luscher (partner Tim Einboden), (grandchildren Joshua, Cheyenne, Brody and Bram); and sister Trudi (Luscher) Mathys of Switzerland. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mae and son John. Funeral Services will be held at 11am Saturday August 24, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1010 - 36 Avenue North, Creston, BC. At 10am a viewing will be held at the same location. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC. The family extends their appreciation to all who have helped Walter over the years with farm projects and health concerns. Instead of sending Áowers, please use your time and money to serve a family member, friend or neighbour in honour of Walter's memory.

Louis Hubl passed away at his Swan Valley Lodge residence on August 9, 2013 at the age of 94 years. Louis Hubl was born to Julia and Louis Hubl at Bowell, Alberta on February 24, 1919 and received his education at Eckville, Alberta. He married Lucy Negraeff in Creston on April 6, 1950. He had numerous employment opportunities such working in the orchards, mechanic at Brennan’s garage and was employed at the Creston School District #86 as a bus driver. One of his hobbies was À[ing and rebuilding old tractors and lawn mowers. He was a jack-of-all-trades, constructed the family home and Louis enjoyed Àshing the many lakes and streams of the Creston Valley. He was predeceased by his wife Lucy and eight brothers and sisters. Louis will be dearly missed by his son Tom and daughter Linda; sister Mary and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church with Pastor Steve Schneider ofÀciating.
