Staff burnout, chronic underfunding and parents making up the difference in spending cuts with fundraising are some of the concerns of District Parent Advisory Council chair Heidi Hass Gable has about plans to cut $12.1 million from School District 43’s budget next year. More than 1,000 perennials, annuals, tomatoes, herbs and hanging baskets — grown in club members’ gardens and at nurseries — will be available for purchase May 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Centennial Room at Dogwood Pavilion (624 Poirier St.).
