Trustees approve SD37 budget cuts The Delta Board of Education approved budget cuts totaling $2.1 million on Tuesday evening, though it will see fewer layoffs and cuts than originally proposed. The changes are expected to address a projected $3.46 million deficit for the 2013-14 school year. ❙ See story, P.3

U.S. mulls border fees for Canadians Shoppers and other B.C. visitors driving south to Washington State may be dinged with a border-crossing fee that U.S. officials are eying as a potential option to raise money. There’s no indication yet how much it might be, but Canadians who go to the U.S. by air or sea already pay a $5.50 customs fee, which is often built into airline ticket prices. ❙ See story, P.4
