The rain didn’t slow the action when all the teams from the Boundary Youth Soccer Association came to Midway for their season opening games on Sunday. While parents and grandparents took shelter under umbrellas, the kids had a great time. BYSA president Jeff Olsen said the club extends from Rock Creek to Christina Lake. In keeping with that regional focus, league teams are not allowed to name themselves after their geography. “If we can’t support each other through the soccer association across the Boundary here, when it comes to the bigger issues, how do you ever get together and discuss those ideas, right?” asked Olsen. The league is still accepting registrations – check out their website at boundaryyouthsoccer.com for more information. Games are held on Sundays starting at 9 a.m. The association tries to get the last game started by 11 a.m. to allow the action to be wrapped up before the heat gets too intense – not a problem last weekend.
