Net Zero Waste Abbotsford Inc., proposes to build and operate a facility that will handle sort and process green waste, yard waste, food waste, commercial organics and select agricultural wastes. The facility will be operated on an impermeable surface and will comply with all components of the Organic Matter Recycling Regulation of BC (OMRR). Materials will be received inside of a building and preprocessed before being placed under the Gore Cover Membrane which will be used to control odors and accelerate the decomposition process. The use of this technology allows for the destruction of all weed seeds and ensures that compost produced is only of the highest Class “A” quality. Our building will also have the secondary protection of a bio-filter to ensure that no odors from the facility impact our neighbors.
