Councillor does study analyzing Royal City’s retail strips

The provincial auditor-general’s office has requested more information on New Westminster school district’s financial processes before deciding whether or not the office will monitor how the district deals with its accumulated and expected deficits. Last month, the board of education asked the A-G’s office to monitor their handling of the deficits following a similar request made by the New Westminster secondary parent advisory council. “The auditor general has agreed to be involved and as a preparation for that process has asked us for a certain amount of information,” said trustee Casey Cook on Wednesday. “I would like us immediately to engage the auditor general and have us involved in both the processes.” However, a final decision on whether or not the office will be involved has not been made. see HoldBack, a5
