YES, COACH. The Kimberley Atom Dynamiters competitive team played two games in Golden over the weekend, tying one 4-4 and winning the other 8-1. Above, the team takes advice from the coaches.
Kimberley Transit will once again be operating the ski shuttle service beginning this Saturday, December 22, 2012. The shuttle will operate seven days a week with extended hours on Friday and Saturday evenings. It will not on stat holidays such as Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day. The bus will make regular stops at Shoppers Drug Mart, the Trickle Creek Lodge and then on to upper ski hill accommodators. The charge for the ride is $3 and kids with their parents ride for free. Wayne Maclaren of Kimberley Transit says that letting kids accompanied by parents ride for free will make it more economical for entire families staying at the ski hill to get downtown. The other difference this year is that trips down the mountain can drop you at, or close to, your own door. Maclaren explained that rather than have set stops as in the past, drivers will try to take you anywhere you want to go in the 20 minutes before their next scheduled run. See SHUTTLE , Page 5

A lot of eyes on East Kootenay; Kimberley C AROLYN GR ANT editor@dailybulletin.ca
There are a lot of contests bringing attention to the East Kootenay these days. For instance, Fernie Alpine Resort is up for Powder Magazine’s Ski Town Throwdown online competition. Fernie has blown away competition so far to make in into the top four ski towns in north America. You can vote for
Josh Dueck
Fernie at facebook.com/powdermag As reported in the Bulletin earlier this week, Kimberley software developer James Swansburg is up for a Google award for his Uber Weather app. You can vote for Uber Weather at https://developers.google.com/ places/challenge/gallery And of course, Kimberley’s Josh Dueck is up for National Geographic’s Adventurer of the year. You can vote for him at ngadven-
ture.com until January 13. Dueck has had a great start to his year on the Canadian Para-alpine team, winning both the Super G and Slalom at the season opener races at Panorama. Dueck is also the latest Canadian skier to be featured in the #MySkiStory video series. You can watch Dueck talk about his accident and recovery and relive his famous backflip at www.alpinecanada.org
