Impaired driver in court for sentencing Natasha Warren hit and killed Kassandra Kaulius in May 2011 by Sheila Reynolds SENTENCING BEGAN Monday for
the drunk driver who crashed into 22-year-old Kassandra Kaulius’s car and killed her last year. In July, Natasha Warren, 35, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death, impaired driving causing death, and failure to stop at an accident. Her presentence report was scheduled for two days (Dec. 17 and 18) in Surrey Provincial Court, taking place after Warren The Leader’s press deadline Monday. (Check surreyleader.com for updates). She was driving a van northbound on 152 Street in Surrey on May 3, 2011 when she Kaulius slammed into a BMW driven by Kaulius at 64 Avenue. Kaulius, who was on her way home from a softball game in Cloverdale, was killed instantly. Warren fled on foot from the scene but was tracked down in a greenspace nearby. See MOM / Page 5

eliminate licensed medical marijuana grow-ops in homes that have long been criticized over safety concerns and connections to the illegal drug trade.
Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq announced Sunday a planned shift to a new system of federally regulated commercial producers of medical pot who will supply authorized users who have a prescription from their doctor. “Under our new rule, only facilities
