Clarity sought on Second clinic in Burns mining policy Lake seen as crucial Skeena Fisheries Commission a key player WALTER STRONG Pacific Booker Minerals Inc. (PBM) has made a second statement in response

to the province’s refusal to issue an Environmental Assessment Certificate (EAC) for the Morrison Mine Project. In his Nov. 8, 2012 statement Erik Tornquist, PBM Chief Operating Officer, reiterated PBM’s position that it had met provincial assessment requirements for the project, even though on Oct. 1, 2012 the project was denied the required EAC they

needed to proceed. Tornquist further stakes out PBM’s position that the proposed mine site does not fall within the Skeena River headwaters, and that PBM had satisfied both the concerns of the Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) and an independent thirdparty review concerning the dangers of the mine project to water and salmon habitat. Lake Medical Clinic Society (BLMCS) on Nov. 7 to get an update on how plans for a new medical clinic in Burns Lake were progressing. Sheilagh Wilson, Co-ordinator of Physician Recruitment with Northern Health, announced that Charlene Thomas, a consultant for physician recruitment, had been specifically assigned to help Burns Lake find more full-time resident doc-

tors. Both were Wilson and Thomas were at the meeting and they made a presentation describing their work with Fort St. James and what their experience with that recruitment drive would bring to Burns Lake. Thomas and Wilson were very successful in Fort St. James where they were able to hire three new doctors into the community. They More on page 7...
