CRESTON VALLEY MINOR HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
Plenty of fans were on hand to watch the Creston Midget Chiefs play Coeur d’Alene on Saturday at the John Bucyk Arena. Veteran netminder Curtis Luke started and had an awesome game as he played solidly in net. Zack King started off the Chiefs scoring in the first with a breakaway top shelf goal assisted by Nick Mottl.
Chris Mulder to finish off the second period. The boys went to the dressing room leading 5-3. The game went to 5-5, then Mottl got an unassisted goal in the third. Coeur d’Alene evened it up and scored the winning seventh goal. The Chiefs coach pulled the goalie in the last minute-and-a-half with the puck in the offensive zone. Creston lost the draw three times in front of their goalie. The Chiefs could not buy a goal; however, they did manage to keep it out of
their own net. The Chiefs coach said the team played well but some undisciplined penalties late in the game hurt the team’s chances for a win. Missing from the roster were captain Jessie Bourgeios and Jacob Endersby. A lot of rookies were played in the second half of the game to give them plenty of ice time, as this was an exhibition game (Coeur d’Alene does not play in the Chiefs’ league). The Chiefs will be playing in Coeur d’Alene on the weekend.

Christ returning
From page 8 3. The living wicked will be destroyed by the brightness of His parousia, (2 Thessalonians 2:8) and this destruction will be literal. “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming (parousia) of the Son of man be.” (Matthew 24:27) Nothing hidden or secret here — all will know! The ancient Greeks used the word parousia to describe the arrival or visit of a royal person or king. It was always a literal, visible and personal visit, usually accompanied with pomp and much splendor. “Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before Him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about Him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people.” (Psalm 50:3, 4.) The parousia of Jesus will be the loudest day of this earth’s history. The trumpet will sound and at the voice of the archangel the dead in Christ will be resurrected and the living saints will be translated to heaven without seeing death. Have these events happened? No. Has the parousia of Jesus come yet? No! But soon Jesus will be here again. Are you ready to meet the Creator, our God and Saviour in peace?
