Convicted son’s father now on trial for murder

On the night before Chelsey Acorn was reported missing in June 2005, she left an Abbotsford foster home with plans to meet up with a man named “James.” Her remains were found in a shallow grave by hikers near the Carolin Mines

Abbotsford Fire Chief Don Beer was part of a delegation of local firefighters, police, border guards and emergency responders who took part in the annual 9/11 wreath-laying ceremony at the 9/11 monument in Sumas on Tuesday morning, the anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon in the U.S. that killed close to 3,000 people. Local firefighters played a role in having the monument built in memory of victims.
