Dylan Battye, 15, spent three months in hospital.
By Jennifer Lang A groundswell of community support is building behind 15-year-old Dylan Battye, a promising athlete who nearly died after contracting a mysterious infection. His Cloverdale family – of friends, teachers, teammates and coaches – are determined to help him recover and pursue his dreams by raising money to purchase an athletic prosthetic leg. “I won’t let this beat me – that’s his attitude,” his mother Elena Battye told The Reporter. A fundraising event is planned for June 15. Local businesses and individuals are being asked to contribute to the silent auction being organized by Lord Tweedsmuir
