Let’s Play Kahoot!

Kahoot Game FAQs:

a) What is Kahoot? It is a fast paced trivia quiz game played on electronic devices such as a mobile phone or tablet. The questions for this game will pertain to the history of Roberts Settlement.

i) Objective: the person who answers the greatest number of questions correctly in the least amount of time (fastest) will be declared the winner There will be 5-8 questions. Duration: It should take approximately 15-20 minutes from start to finish to play the game once everyone is ready to play

b) When will it be played? Event time: 1:30 - 1:50 p.m.

c) Where will it take place? In the Chapel

d) Who can play? Anyone that can read and has a cellular device such as a mobile phone or tablet. You must have access to data because Roberts Settlement does not have WIFI, i.e., internet access. Suggested age is 10 – 110. Maximum number of devices that the game can accommodate is 100. You may “team-up” with another person and use one device.

i) Who will manage the game? Under the guidance and direction of the genealogy department (Lezli Davis) Liz and Lindsey Wilson have been enlisted to be the Kahoot game show designers and hosts. A prize will be awarded to the winner and runner-up.

e) How is it played; what components are required? Logistics:

i) Hardware needs: computer with access to a hotspot, projector, large screen, microphone and speaker

ii) Participants with mobile devices and access to data will be directed to be seated in the church at a designated time.

iii) Participants will be prompted to log in to Kahoot.it or use a designated QR code from the video screen. Players will be given a game pin by the hosts and asked to create a screen name.

iv) Game begins. Participants answer the questions they see on the shared screen with their devices. Each answer option of the shared screen is inside a box with a specific color After each question, a leaderboard will display the top 5 players. After all the questions and answers have been completed, a winner will immediately be identified on all the participants’ mobile devices and projected on the screen.

f) Closing comments….Homecoming Program will begin shortly after the game ends.

**Please Note: If there are technical difficulties because of lack of data connectivity, etc., the game cannot be played with electronic devices and alternative measures will be employed.
