Ali, which tells the tragic story of a family who live in a small Anatolian town, unveils the difficult times a young man experiences due to gastric cancer. In his mid-twenties, Ali finds out that he has cancer after he faints while diving with his friends. Isolating himself from his surroundings during the unresponsive treatment process, Ali first pushes his new girlfriend Aslı away. He then stops talking to his friends and even shuts himself down toward his family. Day after day, Ali’s father Cemil, who does everything he can for his son’s treatment, will deteriorate along with his son. 3The film that brings to mind the question “what would you have done?”, leaves the audience as judges to the father’s actions. Ramazan Özer: Turkish director and screenwriter. After completing his university education, he continued his business life in the Film and TV sector. He worked in various positions in the cinema and TV industry, and after these successful experiences, he started to realize his own projects by establishing the EFEKTİF SANAT production company in 2011

“Karınca” is the story of Şemsi –a truck driver- who is racing against time. Only to find out much later, that Fidan is no ordinary girl but a suicide bomber –who had been brainwashed by the terror organisation and sent to Istanbul on a mission to kill. She is a ticking bomb, she is a suicide bomber …and Semsi has to find her… before any blood is spilled or lives lost. He is fighting to undo a grave mistake. He is seeking atonement. Will Semsi find her and save her from the terrorists? Will he be able to save any live? Nazif Tunç was born in 1964 in Malkara, Tekirdağ. He received his undergraduate degree from Istanbul University, Faculty of Communication. For many years he wrote about cinema and theater in newspapers and magazines. He produced more than 100 television films in Halk Film which he founded in 2006. He gave lectures about film production at Marmara University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Cinema-Television. For now, he is the Vice President of the Film Producers Professional

Middle aged, grumpy man who hasn’t been able to avail neither himself, nor others, and has always depended on his friends in order to hang on to life: Tamer. He abandoned his studies as well as his goals, marriage, family, at times his friends. A woman in her early 30’s, sharing the same house with her mother and brother, purposeless and unemployed. On the contrary to Tamer, Aslı is full of life and yet, introverted. She has found herself a friend, a mentor and a guide. A caregiver, who is considerably ordinary, psychologically disconnected from life and, instead stays with his patients until their last breath: Celil. That brings these three characters together is their desire to hold on to life, which they have different perspectives of. Özkan Yılmaz: Born in 1976 in Germany, Ozkan Yılmaz had his undergraduate degree on film in Anadolu University in Eskişehir and graduate degree on communication sciences from Marmara University. During his academic career, he shot several shorts and documentaries. In his film career, he appeared in many films both as first AD and executive producer.

It’s a story of a young woman in a small Anatolian town who is trying to find an alternative way out of the expected life by being a pen friend with the ‘life sentence’ prisoners to deal with the emotional emptiness after her first love that she thinks she lost forever.

Elif Akarsu Polat was born in Ankara in 1981 and graduated from Television & Cinema at Ankara University in 2004. The documentary film she produced and directed for her graduation project won multiple awards at festivals both in Turkey and overseas. She has been working as an assistant director on numerous TV drama series, as a director of feature films and a producer of commercials. Çiğdem Bozali was born in Trabzon in 1982 and graduated from the Cinema & Television Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

As a student, she received instruction from and attended workshops by the acclaimed filmmakers, Lütfi Ö. Akad, Metin Erksan, İlhan Arakon, Memduh Ün, Nedim Otyam, Duygu Sağıroğlu and Feyzi Tuna. A young boy in a remote region who dreams of becoming a master of traditional music sets off on a trip with his teacher. He promises to bring back an apple as a souvenir for a girl. This eloquent contemporary allegory is set against a backdrop of tradition and culture.

Reis Çelik was born in Ardahan, in east Anatolia, in 1961. He moved to Istanbul after junior high school and studied music and theatre at the State Conservatoire. In 1982 he began a career in journalism, working as an economics/political correspondent for various national newspapers. In the following years, both his interviews and photographs appeared in several international newspapers and magazines. Around the same time, he began making documentary films, commercial and political campaign films, as well

Sinan is a visually-impaired poet. Although he has lost his vision at the age of 3, he is a humorous man at peace with his blindness. His wife Nilgün, wants to bestow Sinan the gift of the visual world. Following the successful operation, Sinan begins to see vaguely. But after a while, he experiences disruptions in adapting. Nilgün is convinced that the chaos originates from habits formed during Sinan’s days of blindness, and thus increases the pressure on him to adapt to the world of the seeing. The tension leads to a tragic face off where they question each other’s personalities. Hacı Orman: He has worked as education expert on human rights and culture policies at several NGOs within the European Union. He was imprisoned twice on political grounds. In 2014, he shot the short film HOMOPOLITICUS about the historical dialogue between German Pastor Lepsius and Turkish general Enver Pasha and was invited to the Council of Europe. His first feature film GOING BLIND is currently in post-production phase.

Nida battles her elusive memory as she tries to solve her husband’s murder and the mysterious deaths around her.

Aytekin Birkon: He was born on May 1, 1981 in Istanbul. He has been working in Fono Film Studios for more than twenty years. He has served as an editor more than 40 movies, as a supervisor more than 300 films, as a consultant more than 30 films.

Deniz (Sea), is a 20 year old boy who makes a living by gathering discarded cardboards for his father’s recycling business. He returns to the warehouse empty handed every time unlike the Syrian refugees and gets scolded by his father. One day he enters a construction site, in order to collect more cardboard. There he meets Nisan (April), a young girl who will change the course of his life. He urgently needs to find some money in order to be with her.

Umut Evirgen: He studied business at Berkeley College and he is currently studying for an M.A. in film and television at Istanbul Bilgi University. In 2019 he shot his first short film entitled “Fine dying”. The film received invitation from 33rd Edmonton Film Festival (Oscar Qualifying) and continues its festival journey. He finished his first feature film “I am the Sea” in 2020.

He connects himself to a little donkey who lost its mother in a car accident in the village and makes it his duty to keep it alive

Murat Çeri was born and raised in a village in Gerede, Turkey, in the realm of dreams and fairytales. After high school in Ankara he moved to Istanbul, the city of legends and dreams, to study literature.

“In the Shadows” is a near future story with no indication of time and place. This is a post-apocalyptic world that ruled over by primitive technology. Zait, a loyal mine worker who works for a mine factory which is managed by unknowns. He begins to be doubtful about the system he lives in and tries to find the eminence grise. And then he realises that existence of him depends on destruction of the system itself which is dark better than he thought. Erdem Tepegoz was born in 1982. Graduated from Dokuz Eylul University, Department of Economics. He studied film directing in Prag Film School. He traveled all around the world for making many documentaries. Zerre (TheParticle), his debut film that is written and directed by him, won almost 23 awards including Best Film Golden St. George at the 35th Moscow International Film Festival and was screened in 30 countries. The director received

Sönmez, who has been working as director and scriptwriter in many movies and soap operas in Turkey since 2003, established 24 Kare Film Production in 2011 and Movie Time Production Companies in 2015 and carried out many important projects. Veysi lives in a village in the middle of Anatolia. One morning, when he goes to his barn with his son Mustafa, a pack of wolves attacks on his sheeps and Veysi loses most of them. Thus he wants a better gun to protect his herd, which is Mauser, ‘The king of the rifles’ as they say. Eventually he finds himself in a fight with the wolf and also his brother about their fathers inheritance.

Fatih Özcan: He was born on March 30, 1984 in Karaman. He completed his primary and secondary educations in Karaman and his high school and university education in Istanbul. After his high school education, he studied Philosophy in İstanbul University and Economics in Anadolu University. Since 2002, he has been producing and directing feature-length films and documentary projects, working as a scriptwriter.

Set during the early 1980s during Turkey’s coup d’état period, Miracle in Cell No. 7 tells the heartbreaking story of Memo, who lives with his beloved little daughter and grandmother in an Aegean town. With a mental deficiency, Memo is a shepherd who lives happily in his small world. In 1983, when Memo is framed with the murder of the martial law commander’s daughter, his life is turned upside down. He’s sentenced to death penalty and gets locked up in the seventh ward, where he has a small chance of staying alive. The inmates treat him hatefully at first only to see he’s a gold-hearted person after some time. They are convinced that Memo can’t be a killer. In time, everyone Memo has done right by gets mobilized to save his life. While everyone is seeking justice, Memo and his daughter Ova’s only wish is to get reunited. An innocent man, Memo now needs a miracle to be able to get back to his old life… Mehmet Ada Öztekin: Turkish director, screenwriter, writer, translator. During his university years in Antalya and Izmir, he worked as a manager on private radios. After years of radio broadcasting, his passion for cinema set his way to Istanbul. He started working in a production company. He has accomplished many successful projects as a screenwriter and director with many commercials, video clips, short films, films and series.

Ezel Akay was born in 1961. He studied engineering at Bosphorus University, and theatre arts at Villanova University, Philadelphia USA. He took part in many theatre productions as an actor and director before entering film production as a founding partner of IFR, where he was the director of more than 800 commercials.He was the executive producer of Yesim Ustaoglu’s “Journey to the Sun”, which also won many awards at international festivals including the prestigious Berlin Film Festival.

Ismet is a Turkish soldier, who was on duty at the border as a Commander of the Coast Guard and recently got retired. After suddenly becoming neighbors with two Syrian refugees (Omar and Mariye) at his house near the Turkish-Greek border and the humane experience he has to live through, he now has to face his prejudices and his political view. Professional actors *Taj Sher Yakub (Omar) and *Hala Alsayasneh (Mariye) starring in this movie are two Syrian refugees who live in Turkey under temporary immigration status. Arife, who once lived in rural areas of Anatolia, make a living by telling stories to people at weddings, and her husband Dancer Civan, who entertained people by dancing in the same environments, suddenly has a heart attack while walking on mountainous terrain to catch a wedding. Witnessing the death of her husband in a cave, Arife remains helpless with the arrival of 3 bandits in the stories she constantly tells, hides herself in the cave.

Tanrısever, who produced the box office records with his films “Abdullah from Minye 1” and “Abdullah from Minye 2”, directed his first film as “Exile” in 1992 and received awards from international film festivals. Tanrısever, who also produced “The Boot” and “My Victory”, continued to collect awards at the international film festivals in 2010 with the film “Free Man”. Hayati is a small-town literature teacher and a one hit wonder author who tries helplessly to hold on to his past: his shattering marriage, his sick old mother, a decaying walnut tree and the memory of his father. Faysal left medicine faculty and graduated from pharmacy faculty in 2003. He did MA on cinema at Tehran Art University and at the same time on Poetry at Van Yuzuncuyil University-Turkey. After a discovery of gold mine; residents of a village, who make their living by drying carpets (to make carpets look antiquated), begin to migrate to cities gradually. Şahin, a little boy, who lives with his single mother Fazilet, has become a subject of mockery among the villagers because he could not learn how to read and write despite finishing the first grade of primary school. Concerned with her son’s situation Fazilet promise Şahin that they will get on the bus together, which is Şahin’s biggest dream, on the condition that he learns how to read and write; thus she is forced into colloborate with childhood friend Turgay to whom she has not talked since almost forever. Temporarily suspending his plans of going to city for good, Turgay starts to give lessons to Şahin due to his feelings for Fazilet. As Şahin makes progress, he also learns the family secrets from the M.M. signed letters he found at home by chance. The tunnel at the exit of the village remains a mystery like a black hole and holds the stories of lots of people who emigrated. The journey of Şahin, Fazilet and Turgay, which has started hand in hand shade off into ambiguity with the final letter they learn while approaching the tunnel. He was born in Alanya in 1990. He was graduated from Erciyes University, Communication Faculty, Department of Radio, Television and Cinema. He completed his master’s education in the field of Cinema, Institute of Social Sciences, Akdeniz University. Onur Yagiz (1986) was born in France to Turkish parents. He studied literature, theatre and film at the Sorbonne-Nouvelle University, before directing Patika (2013) and Toprak (2017). Ants is his first feature film project.

Hatice is a weightlifter who lives with her mother in the Ankara. Her aspiration is the lifetime allowance provided by the government to medalists in international competitions. For World Championship, she decides to use an old method: hormonal boost during pregnancy. She has to get pregnant 8-12 weeks prior to the competition, secure a medal and than end her pregnancy. After she executes her plan the weight of her actions starts to kick in.

Semih Gülen works as director, producer, editor. He directed his short film Hit Me Baby, which had its premiere in Istanbul Film Festival 2018. Mustafa Emin Büyükcoşkun studied History and Sociology at Bogaziçi University and Visual Arts at Mardin Artuklu University. He directed Geranium, which was screened at Premiers Plans d’Angers, Montpellier, Istanbul, Trieste among others in 2008. They both work as assistant director with Semih Kaplanoğlu, Mahmut Fazıl Coşkun, Mehmet Can Mertoğlu.

When Sibel (13) gets admitted to the hospital, Ismail begins to feel the emptiness that stems from the loss of his family and starts to do something he has never done before- ask questions! Is he going to be able to see beyond the tall walls of the courtyard through Sibel’s idea of running away?

Ceren Şahan: She was born in 1976 and graduated from Sociology Department in Hacettepe University. She has worked as a director’s assistant and a scriptwriter since 2005 in the film industry. She is still working as a second director in the industry. Her short film ‘’Lahza (Instant)’’ was screened at some national and international short film festivals. This year, she was invited as a speaker to the ‘’ Femi Festival’’ in Odense, Denmark to talk upon ‘’ Women characters in Turkish Cinema’’.

Born in 1988, Turkey. He started theatre at high school and he directed his first short film while studying engineering. He continued his studies for film directing&scriptwriting at the Prague Film School. There he shot his well-received short film Evicko. The last short film he directed, SALI [Tuesday], premiered in the Official Selection of Cannes FF in 2015, and then was screened and selected in festivals such Toronto, Sarajevo, Les Arcs, Sundance, Rotterdam and was awarded as Best Short Film at Les Arcs, Istanbul, Malatya and with Special Jury Mention in Sarajevo. Ela and Hilmi and Ali is his debut feature.

Cem Özay: Born in 1983 in the south-eastern province of Gaziantep, Özay worked as an editor for various news agencies before moving into the film industry in 2003. Starting off as a line producer, he later began writing and directing. He made his first film, a short titled Passenger (Yolcu), in 2017. Passenger screened and won awards at numerous national and international festivals.

Emre Sert and Gözde Yetiskin, 1988, are best friends since thirteen years old and became a directing duo at university. They shot music videos and short movies, which selected in various film festivals. Now, they are shooting commercials within PTOT Film and working on their debut feature, ‘Grace for Sale’, which is granted for the Production Support from Directorete General of Cinema Ministry of Culture and Tourism in 2019.

Enes Erbay was born in Ä°stanbul, Turkey. He studied Economics and then moved to London to have education in Directing Film. After working in London for some time he moved back to Turkey he worked in TV for 2 years. Also he has been in India and South Korea for film projects. Afterwards, he started to work in Erbay Media. Nesimi Yetik was born in 1981, Çorum. In 2006, he made his short film My Mother Learns Cinema. My Mother Learns Cinema won the DAAD Prize at Berlinale and Best Film Prize in Trieste Film Festival in 2007. The film has been shown in many prestigious film festivals such as Karlovy Vary, Sydney. He has completed his first feature film ‘Spirit of Dust’ in 2014. Spirit of Dust was selected 21. Golden Boll Film Festival and won Best Film, Best Actor and Best Art Director prizes.

Tayfun Pirselimoğlu: He was born in Turkey in 1959 and graduated from METU after which he went to Vienna and studied painting at Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst. He held various exhibitions in different cities of the world, including Vienna, Istanbul, Ankara, Budapest, Tallinn. He is the founder of an independent art initiative of Akademie Genius which he lectured on scriptwriting, cinema and painting. A mentally troubled young woman, accidentally finds an old lady dead at home. She envisions the dead body as her deceased sister and celebrates reuniting with her. Shortly she finds out that her sister has gone to hell, because of committing suicide. She gets devastated and starts making good deeds in the name of her sister, to move her to heaven. She visits old people in nursery home, gives presents to sick children, makes a donation to mosque etc. Meanwhile her hatred towards her father increases and her mother finds about the dead body. A confrontation takes place in the family and they decide to leave to start a new life with her mother. However one thing her father says stops her.

İlke Yeşilay: Born in Istanbul, Ilke Yesilay studied Philosophy, German Language and Cinema-TV at Istanbul University. In 2008, she undertook screenwriting classes at NYU Tisch School of Arts and studied drama/method acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute for two years. Selcen Ergun: Selcen studied screenwriting, directing and industrial design. She is a Berlinale Talents alumna. According to their autopsy reports the cause of death for each case is the same: heart attack. But the truth is utterly different from that.

Adil Oğuz Valizadeh Sedighe: He was born at Ankara in 1979. He joined to Plato Film at 2007 and serve as Feature Film Coordinator. He directed or produced more than 300 tv commercials. He founded Dark Town Pictures at 2016 with his brother. They are making a lot of project as director, writer and producer. Bahadir Karasu (born April 26, 1990, in Bandirma, Turkey) is a Turkish filmmaker. He works in the film industry as a scriptwriter, videographer, post-production-production assistant, editor, and director. In 2009, he attempted to create a group that aims to assemble young independent film-makers for supporting guerrilla film-making with independent, Avant-Garde, and auteur style visions. After a few short films and directing experiences, he wrote and directed his first medium length film The First Day of Human History in 2015 and his first feature Snow in 2017.

The pot is about the adventure of a group of elementary school students making a basketball hoop in their own slums. 90’s Istanbul within an atmosphere that is intertwined of slums along with private security sites, the existence of a secret caste system that is questioned by the scenario through the eyes of children that faced first time. It is a friendship story that gained awareness of togetherness through a basketball hoop within the slum children coming from the different regions of Turkey, with different cultures and understanding.

Ahmet Toklu was born in 1987 in Istanbul. He studied Cinema and TV at 18 Mart University of Canakkale. He worked as assistant director with famous directors and directed several TV series. Screenplay of his project has been awarded at the 55th International Antalya FF Forum. He has been working as program coordinator for different film festivals. Ahmet is now preparing his debut film “The Pot”.

Two widow women in Middle Anatolia are struggling for life with their two children. The big holes that suddenly appear in their region become a big problem for them. To protect her crops, the woman starts a fight against a bear which attacks her field. Another problem is a greedy farmer who needs the woman’s field in order to enlarge his own. A bond is established between the woman and the bear when the bear falls down into a huge sinkhole. The growing number of holes is the precursor of another disaster in the region. Mercan (11), is collecting and selling scrap on the streets. He has a contest pigeon. Yunus (11), is from a Romenian family and playing clarinet on the streets. Hilal (11), is a young girl (refugee). She doesn’t want to talk to anyone in order not to be recognised as a girl because she pretends to be a boy and works as a boy, as well… They are three kids with different backgrounds. They start a journey together for the pigeon contest. During this journey, they get to know each other closer, they share each other’s stories, dreams and hopes.

Nursen Ç. Köreken born in Bulgaria in 1981. She graduated from the departments of Turkish Language & Literature and Tourism & Hotel Management. Since 2007, she has been engaged in radio theatre and story-play-and script-writing. Since 2010, she has concentrated her efforts in the field of movie making. In recent years she specializes in making children’s films. She produced the film “Blue Bicycle” which was shown in many festivals and received important awards. She directed and produced the docudrama film that called “Muhammad Ali” in 2019.

Yusuf and Hasan are on the front line with the volunteers of the town. At that time Hasan was wounded in an Anzac attack. The wounded are taken to the captive camp. Things will develop unexpectedly.

Hüseyin Özden: In 1962, in Turkey (Gumushane) was born. He finished the Theater Department of Ankara University. He holds a master’s degree in cinema. He worked in TRT for a long time. His films published in Turkey and in international area. His documentary ant his screenplay received various awards.

It is the dog days of summer. A luxury site lying next to slums of Diyarbakır. This site is surrounded with walls and barbed-wires. There is a swimming pool in it, just near the walls on the side of slums. Two brothers from slums who are primary school student. These two boys are continuously in trouble with pool problems at the school. And this pool problem turns into a matter of life and death for them because of the swimming pool in the site.

Aydın Orak was born in 1982. He had Performing Arts Central Stage Directing education for 2 years, and had dropped out of Performing Arts and Performans Department of İstanbul Bilgi University. Orak has translated plays of many authors such as Gogol, İbsen, Yaşar Kemal, Cuma Boynukara, Haşmet Zeybek. In 2014, his feature-length film Moses Without Rod began to play in Turkey. The film participated in many national and also international film festival and got rewards.

An old refugee (MUSA) starts on a long and rough journey with his 12-year-old granddaughter (HALIME), who still carries the trauma of war, to carry the dead body his wife to her homeland and burry there. Musa tries to complete this journey by hitchhiking as he doesn’t have enough money, however, they stranded on the road. The vehicles don’t want to help these two refugees carrying a coffin. Their efforts to clutch onto the life during this journey will help to break down walls between them and make them build a stronger connection with each other…

Bekir Bülbül: He was born in Konya, Turkey. He graduated from Computer Engineer in Sakarya University and attended his masters in theater department in Istanbul Univesity. He worked at backstage and had a part in a lot of short films. So filming his first documentary film “Bulgur Mill” in 2016 and selected by many national and international festivals. His debut film is “My Short Words”; it’s world premiere in 37th Istanbul Film Festival and was invited to film festivals in more than thirty countries and won many Grand Prizes.

Ayhan is a policeman, who left the job recently. He is trying to adapt his own life in forest house. One day, he shooted a weasel in the forest by mistake. Came across a strange man at that time. This man is going out hunting close to the house of Ayhan. The incidents meanwhile, overexceeded the logic limits and he became absolutely indecisive whether the situation is real or just an imagination, might be a hallucination.

Orçun Benli: Born in Istanbul, February 27th in 1980 Orçun Benli, started his career as assistant film director in 2002. He is director, screenwriter and producer since 2011. M. Fatih Desteguloglu was born in 1982, in Istanbul. He went to the theater club of Marmara University. First, he wanted to be an actor but many movies he watched in the university years led him to be a film director. He took classes from the “Sinematek Foundation.” He shot his first short, “Takıntı (Obsession)” in 2011 and the second short film, “Kiraz Mevsimi (Cherry Season)” in 2013. Kiraz Mevsimi was shown at Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. In 2016, he shot his first feature film “Kimse Bizi Konuşmasın (Nobody Talks About Us).”

In order to find the cat she starts an investigation in the building, but soon she realizes that no-one else seems to hear this sound. As she keep searching, people around her -and even herself- start doubting her mental health.

Nazlı Elif Durlu: Studied Film and TV in the Netherlands. She has written-directed three short films that were screened international film festivals such as Uppsala, Hamptons and Sao Paolo. She worked as one of the screenwriters of the omnibus called Do Not Forget Me Istanbul, in which Hany Abu-Assad directed the story she wrote. She has been working as a screenwriter for TV series and feature films for productions.
