Charged With Online Luring and Sexual Assault

Andie Rosafort was charged with online luring, sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor on February 17 after police secured an arrest warrant against her. She turned herself in upon hearing of this news on that same day.

Investigators were told by an alleged victim that Rosafort had asked for his address before picking him up in her SUV and engaging in sexual contact. Rosafort even sent him explicit photos and videos of herself.

What happened?

Andie Rosafort, 31, allegedly groomed a 14-year-old boy online before sexually assaulting him in her SUV, according to police. Andie reportedly communicated with him via Snapchat for months prior to luring him from a party and attacking him in her SUV - leading her to be charged with online luring and sexual assault against a minor. The New Fairfield school lunch attendant now stands accused of online luring and sexual assault of a minor.

Investigators were informed by an alleged victim that Rosafort had been sending him unsolicited nude images and videos over text for months, asking him for sexual videos as payment for sending her more nude ones. Rosafort began talking to this teen while still in eighth grade but continued their friendship even when they became freshmen.

On Jan. 13, an alleged victim reported to police that Rosafort messaged them while at a friend's home and requested their address, before driving him a short distance where sexual contact occurred between them. At that point he felt uncomfortable in Rosafort's vehicle before exiting it before rejoining the gathering.

Victim's father learned of alleged incident and immediately informed school authorities. Detectives conducted a detailed investigation, during which time they examined a teenager's phone, which contained videos depicting Rosafort as depicted on social media sites such as Vine. A warrant for Rosafort's arrest was issued and she turned herself in the same day on February 17; currently being held with $100,000 bond until she appears before court again on March 23.

New Fairfield school district's no-contact policy and investigation of any claims of employee misconduct has been implemented to safeguard students and staff members against any inappropriate behavior by employees. Counseling sessions have already taken place for the alleged victim's family; their teen will also be evaluated by a forensic psychiatrist before moving schools with full scholarships being given for college education. He continues to receive support from friends and family.

How did it happen?

Andie Rosafort's allegations have provoked mixed responses. Some supporters believe she is innocent of all charges and her accuser may have ulterior motives; while others doubted the veracity of the claims and believed her accuser to have ulterior motives. No matter your position on this issue, it's essential that everyone recognizes the challenges survivors often face when reporting sexual assault or abuse and show compassion toward both sides - it is key that both are treated equally with dignity.

According to the police affidavit, Rosafort and the victim began communicating through social media platforms like Instagram and Snapchat for several months and exchanging sexually explicit messages. At one point Rosafort sent her an unsolicited photo that included text such as, "You want to see something?". When the victim responded with, "Was this sent by mistake?" Rosafort sent another uninvited nude photo which also caused confusion for investigators.

After her friend informed her parents, the victim's family notified authorities to report an alleged incident involving Rosafort and found sexually explicit images and videos sent by Rosafort to their phone, as well as a TikTok account believed by Rosafort's victim to be his. Investigators then conducted further inquiries which led them to discover sexually explicit material on Rosafort's phone sent from Rosafort as well as evidence linking Rosafort to an account believed to be his on TikTok that the victim believed belonged to Rosafort himself.

Police report that Rosafort met up with his victim to have sexual relations at Rosafort's residence in January and sexually assaulted her while riding in his SUV, prompting the victim to get out and flee for her friend's house as soon as she felt unsafe in it.

Rosafort and New Fairfield Public Schools district were sued by Rosafort's family. The lawsuit alleges that they failed to protect her from being groomed by her coworker and seeks damages such as emotional distress and loss of enjoyment of life for their daughter, which will be heard in Danbury Superior Court. Rosafort was suspended when allegations emerged and later charged with second-degree sexual assault, enticing minors by computer, risk of injury to minor morals and risk of impairing minor morals; she pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear before Danbury Superior Court on March 23.

What can I do?

For this type of case to proceed smoothly and impartially, an extensive investigation must be conducted into allegations brought forward against an accused, along with a fair trial process that considers all aspects of safety for all concerned. Likewise, justice systems should take into account any impact these cases may have on victims and their families.

Andie Rosafort's allegations should be taken seriously and taken seriously by all. Her victims have courageously come forward and shared their stories despite risking retaliation and stigma associated with being victims, which should be acknowledged and celebrated as admirable acts. They set an excellent example to others to speak out against sexual abuse within our society.

According to an affidavit, a 31-year-old cafeteria aide from New Fairfield had been communicating with a freshman student via Instagram and Snapchat for some time, sending nude images of herself, asking for shirtless pictures from him, masturbation films sent

directly from her and even forcing him into having sexual encounters with her. When his silence was broken by police he reported this lady forcing him into having sexual relations with her.

State police launched an investigation immediately upon receiving his report and confiscated Rosafort's phone and other devices. The victim told them he had been communicating with Rosafort via private messaging for some time, and invited him over to pick up their friend in her SUV before engaging in sexual contact. They later returned back to a party hosted at their mutual friends' residences.

State police reported finding explicit material on one of the girl's social media accounts, leading them to issue an arrest warrant in February for her. When authorities arrested her she turned herself in voluntarily and has been charged with online luring, endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree sexual assault.

A judge issued a protective order that bars her from communicating with or using social media with the victim and requires her to remain 100 yards away at all times. She is currently free on $100,000 bond.

What should I do?

Protecting children at school is of utmost importance, and this case should serve as a reminder that we need strong rules to deter bad people from harming them. Furthermore, it illustrates the need for us to support children who may be victimized by others and support victims when possible. Finally, with regard to sexual abuse issues such as this lunch lady being arrested we must discuss ways we can speak to our kids about sexual abuse prevention measures or help should they ever feel unsafe at school.

31-year-old New Fairfield Middle School cafeteria aide, Melissa Khoury has been charged with second-degree sexual assault, enticing a minor via computer and risk of injury to children. When she appeared in court for the first time since being arrested in February she pled not guilty and was released on $100,000 bond.

Police allege that Rosafort had an online relationship with the victim for six months, during which time she sent nude photographs and videos as well as telling him she had "private accounts" on Instagram and Snapchat.

On the night of Jan. 13, Rosafort texted an alleged victim asking them to meet at Rosafort's SUV and pick them up from a party at their friend's house. When the teens met Rosafort at her SUV, they reported feeling uneasy so left the vehicle before returning to their friend's party.

State police reported that upon hearing of Rosafort's story, an immediate notification was made to school authorities by his parent and search of his phone, social media, and TikTok accounts revealed multiple messages and recordings that appeared sexually explicit material with Rosafort, as well as requests from her for images of themselves, according to an affidavit filed against him.

Rosafort received a warning shortly after the alleged incident from New Fairfield Schools' superintendent to refrain from texting or contacting students through social media, according to reports by New Fairfield's superintendent of schools. Following this warning, New Fairfield conducted a full investigation, reviewing student phone and social media accounts as well as interviewing parents and the alleged victim as well as reviewing video footage of what had occurred before speaking with Rosafort who has claimed she posts makeup videos online according to school district reports.
