Donkey lived on a farm with all his friends and his favourite carrot. He was very happy, until one day he woke up and couldn't find it. "Where could my carrot have gone?" he said tearfully. "I know, I will go and ask my friends to help me find it". And so Donkey trundled off to see Brian the Bull.

"Brian, will you help me find my carrot. I woke up this morning and it wasn't there". But Brian wasn't listening. He was more interested in the new cow Daisy the farmer had brought to listen to Donkey. "Sorry Donkey but I can't" he said, picking up a flower from the grass, "I'm far too busy. Why don't you go and ask Rasher the Pig". And with that he ran off to give the lovely new flower to Daisy. Donkey sighed and trugded off to the pigsty. "Who will help me find my carrot?"

Soon, he saw Rasher the pig rolling around in the mud. "Rasher will you help me find my carrot. I can't find it anywhere". But Rasher the Pig wasn't listening. He was too happy enjoying his mudbath to listen to Donkey. "Sorry Donkey but I can't. I'm far too busy. Why don't you go and ask Henrietta the Hen" . And with that he ran away and jumped into another big pool of mud. Donkey sighed again, "Who will help me find my carrot now?" And off he went to the hen house.

"Henrietta please will you help me find my carrot, I woke up this morning and it had vanished". But Henrietta wasn't listening. She was concentrating on looking after all her baby chicks to listen to Donkey. "Sorry Donkey but I can't" said Henrietta, "I'm far too busy. Why don't you go and ask Ramone Ram".

Donkey began to cry, he thought he would never see his carrot again. "EE A W E E A W E E A W" he brayed. WHACK! Suddenly, something had hit Donkey very hard from behind and he fell over. "What was that?" he said as he turned around. In front of Donkey was Ramone the Spanish Ram, and he didn't look very happy. "What is all this about?" Ramone shouted at Donkey, "Here I am trying to have my siesta and all I can hear is you shouting loudly. Whatever is the matter?" "I've lost my carrot", said Donkey "And I can't find it anywhere. Will you help me!" "Is that it?" said Ramone, "Sorry Donkey but I can't. I'm far too busy with my nap. Now can you please keep the noise down". And with that he turned around and went back to his siesta.

Donkey picked himself up and went off back to his bed in the corner of the barn. He wasn't happy anymore. He had lost his favourite thing and now he thought he'd never get it back. Today was turning out to be the worst day of his life.

When he got back to the barn, he spotted something strange moving near his bed. He wasn't quite sure what it was, but it looked yellow and fluffy and was making a funny noise. “Who are you?" Donkey shouted, "Get away from my bed!" And with that a little yellow fluffy creature appeared from around the corner... and wait a minute, this yellow fluffy creature was holding something long and orange in its beak. Something long and orange, that could be only one thing...

"Thats my carrot!" Donkey shouted. The yellow fluffy creature dropped Donkeys carrot onto the floor. "Im sorry", said the yellow fluffy creature, "I thought it was a big yummy worm until I tried to eat it, but it was far too hard and nearly broke my beak. Here you go, have it back". Donkey rushed over to his favourite carrot and picked it up in his mouth. "Thank god I've found you again!" he mumbled to his carrot, happy that it wasn't lost after all. Then he turned to the yellow fluffy creature and said, "So who are you? I haven't seen you before on this farm". "My name is Gideon" said the yellow fluffy creature, "and I am a baby Goose. I was only born the other day and yesterday my Mummy was showing me how to look for food. I think I might have made a mistake and took your carrot instead, Im sorry". "Ee Aw that's OK" Donkey said, "At least my carrot is back now, and now I have a new friend, this day is turning out to be the best day ever!"
