Agriculture Industry and Technology (Agronomy) 

BSC’s Agronomy program prepares you for a wide range of agronomy industry positions within the field of agriculture. Comprehensive coursework includes everything from crop science and agribusiness to soil science and precision farming. Students learn about the most up-to-date agricultural practices and precision technology; including guidance systems, handheld GPS systems, GIS software and variable rate fertilizer application. The program also requires participation in a cooperative education internship.

The Agriculture program is for students who will transfer to any four-year college in any agriculture discipline. Students will compliment their general education requirements with agriculture classes pertaining to their bachelor’s degree.

Agribusiness 

If you’re interested in the business of supporting farms and ranches and planning to pursue an agribusiness management and/or sales related position, consider this option. BSC’s technology-infused curriculum will prepare you to face the challenges of today’s agricultural industries. You’ll study accounting, agricultural finance, marketing, precision farming, crop/soil science and livestock production. The program also requires that you participate in a cooperative education internship.

Train for an entry-level position in the Production Livestock Industry. Through hands-on learning, labs, practicum experience and technology infused curriculum, you will gain the skills to assess health and treatment regimens, interpret nutritional needs and feeding systems, execute pasture and grazing management, and discuss issues facing the livestock industry.

Unmanned Aerial Systems

Gain new opportunities and enhance your current career by obtaining skills in Unmanned Air Systems. With this certificate, you will develop skills to manage and plan flight operations, collect and process imagery data for analysis, and apply skills while working directly with business and industry. The hands-on learning can be applied to multiple applications, including agriculture, energy, construction, emergency response, aerial videography and photography.

AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS Industry partnerships are a core part of the BSC Agriculture program. BSC collaborates with regional industry professionals that assist with hands-on classroom instruction, offer top internship experiences and full-time job opportunities. With a 100% job placement rating, these one on one interactions with industry professionals provide BSC students an advantage in securing a successful career.

The Fast Track program at BSC encompasses the non-traditional ways students may have earned college credit, including:

DUAL CREDIT & EARLY ENTRY

Dual Credit students enroll in a college course to receive both college and high school credit. These courses are usually taken at the high school or via interactive video. Early Entry students enroll in a college course to receive college credit. These courses are usually taken at the BSC campus or online.

Aerial Videographer UAS Remote Pilot

BSC awards credit for Military Training Programs as outlined by the American Council on Education (ACE).

CLEP/AP

With CLEP (College-Level Examination Program), a student can earn college credit for what they already know on any of 34 CLEP examinations. AP (Advanced Placement) courses are taken in high school. Students can receive college credit if they earn a 3 or higher on the exam.

PRIOR LEARNING

Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) provides an opportunity for adults to earn college credit for knowledge and competencies they’ve gained outside the classroom.
